- Here is a 2nd version of this set. Due to an in-coming thunderstorm, the first part of Tuba Skinny's performance for the day, May 21st, 2018, had to be inside the Casino, "à la salle des Ambassadeurs du Casino", instead of "au Parc Thermal", for "Le Festival de Swing à Danser", Châtel-Guyon, France. The large room filled up pretty fast, we were lucky to find premium positions due to the kind motion from one of the members of the band. Thanks! This footage was taken with a hand-held SONY HandyCam FDR-AX100 in FH-quality mode. Hope you will love this constellation of stars as much as we do. Enjoy!

But, just in case anybody needs them, the programme was: 00.26 Saturday Night Function; 04.54 Baby, I'm Crazy 'Bout You; 10.31 Fireworks; 14.45 Doing a Stretch; 20.56 Too Late; 25.50 Rock Me (incidentally, this on on their long-ago Album called 'Tuba Skinny', where it is taken slightly more quickly but played - as here - in the key of Ab); 30.41 Boodle Am Shake; 36.13 Berlin Rags (the recent composition by Tuba Skinny's sometimes member Ewan Bleach).

As far as I can tell, Tuba Skinny is not just a band, it seems to me that it is a musical community. This year, on March30, they performed at DBA with Charlie Halloran on trombone, Craig Flory on clarinet, and Ewan Bleach on Saxophone. On April 2, Barnabus Jones was on trombone. April 7, they again sounded terrific with Barnabus on trombone and Ewan playing clarinet, no saxophone. On April 12, Erika was with them playing her bass drum and singing. Again and as usual, the performance was first class. In mid-May they appeared at several venues in Europe, with Erika, without Ewan, beautiful music, wonderfully arranged and performed. The string players often swap instruments. The clarinet players do not play the same, Ewan and John Doyle play the sax different to one another, Charlie and Barnabus have different styles, sounds, and skills on trombone. Still, every performance sounds like Tuba Skinny and I suspect that is a tribute to Shaye and Robin, as well as a tribute to the talent of all of the musicians and their love of traditional New Orleans jazz. Shaye writes songs. Robin writes songs. Ewan has his own band in Europe. Shaye is hardly the only one that plays multiple instruments. I find it to be a marvelous mix, infinite variety, thoroughly entertaining!

I especially like her modest way, everybody is so reticent and really almost shy. especially the guitarist Gregory. That looks very amiable. They could really imagine what their great music they are doing.

Sie erheben diese wunderschöne Musik auf ein außergewöhnliches Level. Sie wirken dabei so dankbar, höflich und bescheiden.
