    One of the latest pedals from Jeorge Tripps and Way Huge. Combination envelope filter / sub-octave fuzz, check out what makes this thing tick! Enjoy!

    I recently got one. It’s really fun. May I suggest the JPTR FX Super Weirdo next? Thx.

    I absolutely love the PCB layout and quality. It looks so cool. Also one of my favorite features on this device is the battery compartment in the front, wish more stompboxes would have that.

      They don't because your foot will eventually cause issues. It's cheap feeling, very cheap (the 9 volt compartment) I won't be surprised If it break with light use

    One of my favorite videos from you. Nice to see a newer pedal teardown

    Weirding was the fighting style that Paul taught the Fremen to win the fight. Super cool video. I’ve been wondering about this thing since I’ve been getting ads for it.

      Yeah, the books had the Fremen learning "The Weirding Way"- which was basically Bene Gesserit martial arts Paul learned from his mother. David Lynch's movie had them fighting using those technological "Weirding Modules"- one of the more flabbergasting changes in that movie.

      Only in the Lynch version. Did not exist in the books.

    Great video. Based on how this is built, do your see any way to disable the oscillation/auto wah? This pedal would be more useful if there was an option to set the rate to zero.

    Looks like the CD4013's are there for the 1 to 2 sub-frequency division circuit, which came from the ol' MXR Blue Box or Boss OC2 schematic. The LM13700 is something I wasn't expecting. I typically see that in OTA compressor circuits or in Ross Phaser clones.

    • @marksescon
      @marksescon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LM13700 probably related to the auto wah portion of the circuit.

    • @erikvincent5846
      @erikvincent5846 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marksescon yeah, that makes sense. The Funktastic I made for DIYGuitarPedals does use the OTA design. I forgot about that.

      Same with compressors, envelope filters are also dependent on amplitude. So no surprise seeing 13700 here.

      I've used LM13700s for wide range voltage controlled oscillators. Easy to make voltage controlled amplifiers too. Even a voltage multiplier for a ring modulator is possible is possible (not as good a multiplier as a AD633 of course.).

    Hey! Have you checked out the new Memory Man? I can't find out much info but I'm curious if it's running the reissue MN3005. It looks pretty cool and sounds good but in a smaller package.

    There was another IC on the in/out jack PCB. It looked like an MSOP-8 footprint. What was that?

    • @graybenchelec
      @graybenchelec  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah! Missed that little guy. It's marked "1E1KP 7606", a quick google doesn't bring up anything. The board is marked "Q3" rather than a "Ux" part number, which suggests a transistor, maybe an array?

    • @neysonza
      @neysonza ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@erikvincent5846i guess that's for reverse polarity protection.

    • @erikvincent5846
      @erikvincent5846 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neysonza I'd have to see a schematic to be sure, but that's a possible candidate of use.

    • @graybenchelec
      @graybenchelec  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erikvincent5846 @Ney Sonza Good find! I'd venture to agree with the reverse polarity protection just based on the extra wide traces coming off the pads.

    Hey Joe - You said the input and output are stereo jacks, so the pedal is tsr in/out. . . Is that right??

    • @graybenchelec
      @graybenchelec  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the jacks have the contacts for tip ring and sleeve, yes. But that doesn't mean the ring connection is doing anything, like stereo in and/or out for example. Often companies will only buy stereo jacks, because they can be used as mono, and you get a price break for the greater quantity.

      @@graybenchelec Nice thanks, Maybe there are others besides Bourns that make LED Sliders. Those are a plus when making EQ slider pedals
