That is wonderful! A friend has an old hand crank grinder and press, we would process 1-2000 pounds of Gem County apples a year. Hope to do it again this fall.
Thank you for your video! I'm curious what kind of water pressure you have at your farm. We have a well with a small water pump and pressurized system. don't want to buy this unless I have some understanding of what kind of pressure is required. Thanks!
Do you put the apples with the stem and the pits in the grinder??? What about bad apples with worms etc inside?? How do you sort them out?? It looks like you are throwing the whole apples in the grinder. That can’t be really healthy!?
As a lonely man I would add a couple of strong belts to the bottom end of the cloth to avoid messing with it at the end. If you leave the air inside the bladder, the compressed air would keep on pressing the juice even if you close the bottom water vent and take off the hose, if you have several juice presses. And last, thank you for the video, and next time, keep the camera horizontally.
Yes, air and water will exert same pressure on the pulp/mash but the air is much more springy so will keep the pressure high while juice is pressed out. No need to let it out.
Wrong ALWAYS fill the press to the top the way you did it the bladder will over expand in the empty space and blow up you are in for an expensive lesson i
nice, how many liters of juice per kg of fruit?
