      I ran some of first D11 that was built similar to D10L, they where a work horse! Think it had more power than the D11R and the T series! Had a slower first gear and Cat back then wanted you to load blade in 1st roll blade back to carry and shift to 2nd! Would carry a blade load easily! When they got the R series was told to stay in first gear which was faster than 1st in first than older D11, which had alot of power! When T series came out, we had one of the first 5 experimental models, which was nice machine but thought C series didn't have the low end power as the 3508 engine!

    • @rossgray3070
      @rossgray3070 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eannaoreilly4050 The elevated sprocket keeps the shock loads from the blade away from the gears and bearings in the final drives, all the blade loads go to the pivot shaft that the track frames are mounted on as well as the bogie under carriage reduces vertical shock loads by up to 50% according to Cat. Plus they have components that are easily swapped out rather than tearing the whole machine down. The transmission plugs in the back, the final drives/ steering clutches plug in the side so there is less down time to do repairs. Much smoother ride for the operator especially in rock.
