- Hello and welcome to another Train Sim World 4 video!
We're back on Train Sim World 4 today where we're going to be taking the newly released Class 142 "Pacer" train for a drive on a brand new "Blackpool Branches" route addon. Altogether this addon comes to £29.99 and brings quite the network of routes to our simulator.
In this particular video we'll be driving a GMPTE Orange Class 142 on a semi fast service from Preston to Blackpool North. Calling at Kirkham & Wesham, Poulton-Le-Fylde and Layton, we'll have a look at the various features this route and train have to offer.

A quick tip Joe, to quickly change the destination blind in the opposite cab, press 'CTRL & =' to quickly jump to the other cab!

This may be superfluous detail, but the car at the side of the track at 22:02 that you commented on was a post-1978 Morris Marina. It has the front spoiler and additional driving lights, which were included in the 1978 facelift, so that period car is actually a nice little addition.

Tbf, having driven a pacer, the brakes are amazing even in step 1, but if you took enough power they really can shift.
Joe you arent even driving the cummins variant 😂 that one actually uses AP sounds so that one is the best

Had a go at this last night getting home from work loving it hopefully they can bring in a few patches for the 142 like it setting off too fast and what not but overall a lovely add on
Absolutely agree with you! The only thing letting it down is the quirks with the 142, but that said it's still a gorgeous route! :D
The Cummins engine is the 1993+ version. The other versions sounds aren't from AP because Just Trains had already implemented the sounds before AP released the new sound pack.
I remember being on a pacer to blackpool when i was younger and puking up on it while the entire train was packed. Not one of my best experiences ill tell u that for sure

Hi Joe, the tram extension dlc on bus sim 21 next stop is amazing check it out, when will you be returning to omsi or fernbus?
This has got the same seat moquette as the Ensignbus mk2 Metrobuses had when new.
i wish they would show you the stops when picking your route so you can get the stops you want
Sprinters would soon take over on the Blackpool North line. Pacers in provincial livery still run on the un-electrified line to Blackpool South to this day. Blackpool North to Preston's electrification was completed between 2017 and 2018
Pacers don't run on *any* mainline routes any more. 100%. They are no longer legal due to PRM legislation.
Well ig true the bit from the junction off of the WCML stretch sout of preston, but tbh that was on the slows anyways
Pacers haven't been in service for about 3 years now love and not been in provincial before I was even born.

@@jasonmoffat679 All 94 Class 142s were to be withdrawn by mid-2020, as they did not comply with the Persons with Reduced Mobility Technical Specification for Interoperability. I only made a comment because Train Sim 4 and Bus Simulator 21 both think you don't need overhead cable or a third rail for electric trains and light railways anymore. The ones in BS21, must be nuclear
