Outstanding alumni contribution to social responsibility: Rosie Baker

The Making a Difference Awards for Social Responsibility are held each year at The University of Manchester (‪@universitymanchester‬ ) to showcase the achievements of staff, students, alumni and partners of the University.
The Planet Food York initiative is the 2024 winner of the 'Outstanding alumni contribution to social responsibility' category. This is a food-waste-reduction social enterprise, operating a community café and food market using 100% surplus produce - all collected, sorted, preserved, cooked, redistributed or served - by local volunteers and self-employed people.
