MediaTek cooperates with Nvidia and this may make a huge difference in the future. Dimensity processors may in some time support DLSS and not only what it can do, there is a huge difference in performance. In my opinion, in practice, Dimensity 9400 is better than Snapdragon 8 Elite. MediaTek has a much greater potential with Nvidia
The collaboration has nothing to do with Dimensity 9400. Arm still provides Mediatek the GPU design. Maybe in the future they will but now no. Plus OEMs have their own DLSS-like techniques.
What about networking capabilities? Qualcomm modem and Wi-Fi are the best. For a phone, that’s a big concern. I have had mediatek Wi-Fi chipsets in my laptops which were hot garbage.
Samsung also cooperated with AMD about 2 yeara ago.. and still evetyone refuse to buy any Exynos flagship chip.. because it's crap.. so there is your potential.. the 450W GPU isn't the same like the 4-6W GPU in the mobile devices..
MediaTek actually nailed it on the clockspeed to performance ratio. Hope they take the approach of efficient high end instead of full blown number crusher. A flagship should be damn fast, but a chip that either overheats or drains the battery is anything but premium
Mediatek 9400 can give stable fps and so can my snapdragon, but snapdragon gets very hot, up to 50 degrees and above, which damages the phone. No matter how successful the snapdragon 8 gen elite is, they should not solve this heating problem, so my choice is Mediatek 9400, but if there is someone who plays emulators, snapdragon is better in this regard.
Intersting that qualcomm need to push the cores to like 20% higher clock speeds to get the win on performance. I think id go mediatek if given the choice for less inpact on the battery.
That doesn't mean anything. The GPU on the D9400 also has a significantly higher clock speed than the Adreno 830 just to compete, but clock speed isn't everything. The design of the SoC is the most important factor and clock speed is just a small part of the equation.
If I get one a phone with one of these CPUs, I might find myself not needing to upgrade for a decade. But then again as CPUs and GPUs get better, everyday apps and browsers will demand more resources unfortunately. I currently have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Phone.
Hope that you could include the battery usage as well after each and every benchmark to see the difference between two processors next time. This is crucial to mobile gaming as well.

The iPad barely manages to use the full power of the base chips and it can't even use the power for sustained periods without heavily throttling. The current A-series chips are literally M-series chips with lower clocks and a lower core count, designed with the thermal considerations in mind. Also, the iPhones have already been unable to sustain the peak performance of the A-series for a while now. How do you think they'll make an M-series chip work. 7:18. If the console game ports are going to have far worse quality than their PC counterparts like the ones released on the iPhones, last year, I'd rather just emulate them and have better quality like we've seen in several emulation tests available on YT where the quality is more satisfying. The better quality is worth the extra effort for emulation imo.
