One thing I've realized for so many people in this world is as an adult the fear of success really comes from our childhood. So many of us grew up in homes where our parents limited us on everything, and even after we left our parents home to live our own lives. We were always told you shouldn't buy a nice car settle for something cheap. You don't need to live in that nice neighborhood cause it's too expensive. If I were you I wouldn't go to college because it cost too much money so just get a job as a cashier and the list goes on. But when you realize you're an adult now who can make their own decisions people have that fear of coming up higher in any area of their life because they were pushed down so much by their parents and brainwashed into thinking that if you want success it's a waste of time and it will never happen. But God says different and that's who we should listen to!!
Oh my god... yes... My parents did this exact thing. I always just kinda tried to blend in and keep my head down.. kind of succeed in silence. Even when I felt great about something I was afraid it would be shot down as silly or critiques in a way I couldn’t win cuz I was a kid. I always felt sneaky and shy, but have extreme extrovert qualities at times. I kind of hide after my success like “good you didn’t ruin it you did enough now appreciate it and chill”.. I’m so lost, I wish I could fix this

My prayers have been answered ! I got myself my own apartment at Land Mark Senior Living ! I owe it all to God as now I can start a happier life with nicer people as I live in a trailer park where I am misunderstood rejected made fun of laughed at !

This made me cry. It really hit me thst my core reason to fear of success is thinking im not good enough. Now i learned God wants us to be successful. Thank you very much. I liked.
For me I was afraid of making others uncomfortable and that included making them uncomfortable with my success.
I discovered it’s because I didn’t feel like I was loved or enough by others, which is a lie from the enemy because Jesus (God) humbled himself to the life of a slave and died on the cross for us. So the enemy is liar, Someone (Jesus) loves us so much they did all of that for us (and would do it again). Unknowingly, because I didn’t feel like enough people/friends took the place of God in parts of my life emotionally so I sought to always please them and not make them uncomfortable at all.
But by His grace I repented of my idolatry and believed in His truth. I’ll continue believing in it everyday, now it’s my mission to only be concerned by pleasing Him because He matters to me. I don’t care if others are unreasonably offended for what I do in His name. It’ll show them how important my God is to me. And when I stumble, may it be His strength that humbles me, perfects my weakness, and lifts me up - In Jesus heavenly name, Amen.

Praying for you and Kathy to receive peace that passes all understanding. There is usually a root to why we do what we do. I also have to agree with LoveU Blessed that the devil will try to steal and destroy any opportunity that God had laid on your heart to do or achieve. Just allow the Holy Spirit to work in and thru you to get over this fear and push through it so you can become what God had planned for you before you were even born. I literally typed on youtube "fear of success" and I was afraid and doubted that such a case exists, and thank Allah this exists.. because I am preparing my phd and I found myself procrastinating a lot when writing the thesis for months, I came away with the fact that I am afraid of maintaining and having the title of doctor, of having a position at the university, of having a good salary,...Thank you for this video and I hope that I could find a video for solutions

I wish more Pastors would speak to this. I’ve always struggled with this. Everyone talks about fear of failure. I know I won’t fail with God. My issue is knowing I will succeed!! Success = Fear. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I haven’t been able to understand it.

God almighty, thank you for this word and thank you we may show our fears and vunerabilities to each other in order to encourage one another not to worry and to do better. Lord, in accordance with this word and philippians 4:13, james 4:10, deuteronomy 30:9, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I bind one freed of every fear of succeeding in every area of one's life one has put hope in for myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ while binding one not to fear to succeed and even better strive to succeed in all the work one puts one's hands to while binding to hell every fear of succes, while I bind myself not being unequally yoked and have any common share with those who fear succeeding in life and those failing in the work one does, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
My fear of success comes from seeing others around me become successful and their attitude changed, they became worldly and greedy, not helping anyone. I don't want to become like that and I always hold myself back. Pray for me

I'm trying to figure out what the Lord wants! I know he ants us to be blessed & doesn't want me stressed out!
God wants you to have a joyful, blessed, and fulfilled life. If you look at Gods people throughout the Bible, when someone died, it says how old they lived and states they had a long FULFILLED life. God said we will go through hard times, but we are to enjoy life to the fullest.

As a child ,when i get good grades and nice stuff i would loose my friends and it happens when i work everytime i receive favours i began to loose people, began to feel bad to wear my best ,i am a giver even thats its like my light shines too bright that persons are intimidated, so began to get fear when we car buying someting or elevating, i will loose someone , when i was down i was truly happy for people success but when i am climbing the ladder its not the same, so i always try to hide my success but the scriptures say i will prepare a table for u in the presence of your enemies, who i loose wasn't meant to be ,life is too short

This is exactly when you need to hold on. I’ve been in the same situation before and everything will be ok if you just hold on. Depression and loneliness can make u feel separated from god and make it feel like no one is there for u, but that is never true. You may not always feel him but god is there always, keep praying and trying to get closer to him. Open up to him and talk to him like he is your friend. You deserve to wake up everyday and you deserve to be happy. God never puts any struggle in our paths that we can’t handle. And WHEN you are free of this you will have a stronger faith in god and be stronger person than you ever thought you could be. When you feel like you don’t want to live, when you feel like you can’t anymore, when you feel like you just want to give up that is exactly when u must throw all ur faith into GOD and hold ur head up high. NungsangWati, I just wanted to let you know that you are loved. God loves you more than you can ever know. I totally understand how you feel. Its hard to explain to others that I have family and friends but I feel so alone. The devil will try to make you feel unloved and isolated to keep you from getting a deeper relationship from God and also fulfilling what God has called you to do.
I also wanted to let you know you have a huge family which is the body of Christ and I'm truly blessed to have you as part of my family. I know its hard, but hang in there. Remember Jesus's wins in the end. Also, when you become free of this loneliness and depression, you will be able to help others in the same situation and lead them to Christ. I don't feel I deserve to have success. I have struggled with this for years. I've gotten to the place where I can't do anything financially because of my fear of looking for a better paying job. I don't believe that I'll get a better paying job so I've allowed myself to stay stuck in a dead end low paying job for the past 5 years. I'm going to try my best to get out of this whole because as much as I feel I don't deserve it, there's the constant dreams of me in a better paying job.
