@@CrimsonCustomGuitars I don't think it's inordinate at all. The complication was a fantastic build where you pushed your ability to make your imagination real, and documented it spectacularly. It's a build series that I find myself going back to re-watch from time to time. It was something that definitely deserves some joy and happiness all around.

As Ben was meticulously removing the mould, i found myself checking the amount of time remaining in the video - not to see when this interminably tedious process would end (it was, as always, anything but tedious) but in the hopes that i had yet to reach the mid-point and would have the great pleasure of watching much more of the build. Alas...
Now begins interminable period of waiting for the next instalment. Thank you, Ben and Crimson Guitars for continuing to fascinate us.

I love how you take "different and unusual" woods then make them into guitars. I build a lot of guitars, myself, and use reclaimed woods on most of them. My favorite builds are the ones that have knots and cracks in them. It adds to the character of the guitar. Great job again.

I may not be able to afford one of Ben's creations (YET) but I truly appreciate the level of skill, artistry, and outside the box creativity that goes into his custom builds. That's why "close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and tactical thermonuclear devices" when you are a true master of your profession! The wait for parts 3 and 4 are going to be excruciating but I am willing to suffer to enjoy this level of luthier artistry.

@@CrimsonCustomGuitars There is just something about the blackness of that bog oak. It's just gorgeous. That and the fact that it is hundreds of years old makes for a good story. A tree that likely grew very old, then died, then waited for an eternity through the ages in a swamp, only to be become an instrument of creation one day far in the future. I'm a sucker for the romantic sentiment of it all and as such, any guitar made with old wood appeals to me. It's going to be a legend for some lucky soul.

Hi Ben. Great build so far and it should look awesome when it's finished. Quick tip of the day for you. . . if you use Melamine for your mould , you only need silicone release spray and it just pops out clean. No tape and time wasting and it leaves a much smoother finish with a lot less sanding to do. Also you should consider a vacuum pot to remove all the air from the resin before you pour , it gives an easy bubble free finish . Love the channel and i also have a vintage long box plane to send to you which should arrive by christmas. Peace

It looks really cool. But I cant believe after watching you build the box that you though the blank would just fall out. You did a good job that's for sure.
    Cheers

Getting away with it like a true master, walking the tightrope of disaster! Ironically enough if you'd have watched as many TH-cam videos on resin guitar builds and random carbon fibre layups as I have you have used material with a non porous face to construct the mould, not used tape at all and you'd have used silicone spray or wax inside your mould to have minimise bonding. I'm dreaming about making a carbon fibre bass. Not to be original, it's been done a million times. I just want one

Yep. I messed up! And you should build the bass, the only reason we should need is 'I want one' B

When you are pouring such a thick layer of epoxy the trick is to slow down the curing by cooling the epoxy by using fans and a aluminum form. It will then cure without bubbles.
