I've been into the build from the start and this is a great way to "catch up" on all the action. I would highly recommend watching the entire build as it is an awesome show of luthier and woodworking skills. Gotta say, though, I will be grateful when this project is done and the finished product is displayed. GREAT JOB, BEN! Stay awesome and keep making sawdust!

The project is done and the guitar's been strung up and played (by Ben) in the latest video. The only thing missing is the final episode where a professional plays it.

I worked as a cabinet builder, building jewelry display cases "Cash & Wraps" for 6 years.
    From 1991 - 1997.
I've built some pretty complex display cases & fixtures for multiple stores, all over the world.
The company I worked for.( Midwest Woodworking & fixture Corporation, So. IL. division II).
Shut down and moved away for cheaper labor. In 1997.
    I loved working there!
Some of the stores I built cash wraps & fixtures for were......
Famous bar, Lord & Taylor, The Body Shop, St Louis Science Center, JCPenney's, & many more, all around the world.
You're guitar is just sick man!
I love the complexity and work that you put into it!
    I realized over the years....
You will only be as good as your tools are, combined with your love & passion for wood working!
    You have shown people,
If you love woodworking, it's not really work , anything is achievable!
I can't wait to watch part II
As this masterpiece comes to life!

I was just scrolling through TH-cam and seen the thumbnail and thought to myself, "I gotta see this" and I'm glad I did. This is a true work of art and I'd love to see it in person. Not to mention that badass workshop. The amount of awesome machinery and hand tools would make Norm Abram from New Yankee Workshop jealous lol. Wow just wow. That's a carpenter's dream workshop. I was fortunate enough to work on the Aga Kahns Ismaili Centre ( the granite monolithic structure opposite the V& A Museum) 40 years ago, where the best craftsmen from around the world were employed to work the interior . My job was to supervise glazing particularly around the roof garden but everywhere else and everything had to be 1mm tolerance as we were being followed by stone masons etc .To watch the craftsmen in the main prayer hall create masterpieces from wood with the simplest of tools amazed me and nothing has impressed me since . Worth a look on open days , all done by hand tools folks .

While, not the crimson guitar that I covet (all those raw guitars with huge cracks are my kind of thing), this is the build that truly demonstrates bens skill and wild imagination. This guitar should be at every trade show, on the front page of all you digital media channels and even printed on T-shirt’s. It shows that if you can dream it, Crimson can build it. Show up at NAMM and watch the place go wild over this guitar. You’ll be on every guitar TH-cam channel for a year.

As I said, I owe you an apology. When I started watching this build, I commented, stop while you're ahead! There is a beautiful guitar hiding under all the complicated bits! Thinking back to my own field of experience, custom motorcycles. Some of what I do is impractical, exercise in artistry. Done another way would be more rideable, but dose nothing to soothe my imagination. After viewing the impeccable craftsmanship of this instrument, as well as a couple others I was privileged to see, such as the double neck guitar that could actually be separated into two guitars.
Bravo! Thanks for sharing the videos!
By the way the neck is a sculpture in itself.

    "Giger ever designed a guitar"
He did. He did a few models for Ibanez. I wish I could picked up the Sabre model, it has a carved metal finish.

    Art Work IMO
Wish I had someone like you around me
As I carve fishing lures and your scrap wood
Would be great for some of my upscale fishing lures

I would like to suggest a side feature to "what's on the bench" and that is: "what's on the wrist ?"
I noticed makers have an above average affection for wristwatches in particular and edc in general and I think we can appreciate a little wrist watch check in the beginning of a segment.

In the beginning, when you first drew and laid out your design... That upper horn was totally H.R. Giger. Which is a great thing. What happened? Something changed at some point? Either way, what a sick idea...! You should be extremely proud of this!
