most of this is new to me though I have had epilepsy for many years and seen a lot of neurologists. Most of the videos that I have seen also present it differently. Brian D. Moseley and Dr. Lowenstein are good. I would recommend them.
An aura is a simple partial seizure, so it's part of the ictal phase. My seizures start in my temporal lobe, which is why I get deja vu and strange emotions, and my simple partials don't always turn into complex partials. I don't have any motor symptoms during simple partials, and I have a very short post-ictal period with slight expressive communication issues (although nothing like the issues I have after a complex partial or tonic clonic).
Premonition phase and aura are not the same. Aura occurs much closer to the seizure. The premonition phase (when it occurs, which is rare) occurs days before the ictal phase.

Mine is also limb jerking and when that happens I burn myself with my coffee or tea then go to bed to sleep it of not very nice

I have auras and then premonition stage and then to complex so i imagine it can happen any way it wants unfortunately
