Appreciate the good information provided here. Planning a 3 week stay in April/May and hope to check out area real estate. First time leaving Canada so excited about the possibilties.
I am surprised you didn't mention Brittany's close relationship to Cornwall considering the closeness of the languages. My family has a small house in Goulven. Lovely location.
Excellent video, Dan! Thank you. We are retired and plan on house hunting in the region soon. It seems that homes under $100k are "in the sticks," so to speak. I wonder if there is access to services in the interior of Bretagne? Thanks. Dean & Cindy
The interior of Bretagne is way ... more different. More rural, and less crowdy too. It's called "centre Bretagne" or "Centre Bre" for the locals. There are a few cities (Ploermel or Pontivy) but it's way less fancy than the coast parts. A lot of english citizens installed there because it's full of cottages and people are quite open.
Could you start by the minimum of respect of the land where you want to live ? There is no "brittany" in France but there is a region with the name of Bretagne or Breizh. If you even don't do this minimum, stay where you are, you are NOT welcome in Bretagne.
We are coming. Retirement and life in France awaits.
