- Sling Aircraft is located at Tedderfield Airpark in Johannesburg, South Africa. The factory itself is a sprawling Hangar Complex on the airfield that encompasses approximately 2,880 m2. The Hangars house the assembly line for Sling 2, Sling TSi and Sling High Wing production.
Factory offices are also located within the Hangar so Directors, Mike, James and Andrew, can keep a watchful eye on the process for quality assurance. There is a full-time staff of over 300 people and the complex includes all the amenities necessary for the production of high-quality Slings.
In addition to this, we have three warehouses in Alrode, Johannesburg South, which house our Composites, Sling High Wing Composites and Parts Manufacturing Departments.

I’m about halfway through building my TSi from a kit and it is a fantastic experience working on this very well designed and manufactured aircraft.
I am a Sling 2 owner in US and I LOVE my Experimental Amateur Built, 912ULS, dual G3X Touch, GTN625, IFR machine. A masterpiece design and gets over 22 mpg!
I love it that everything is done in-house. Brilliant company led by fantastic fun people. Hope to get my hands on a Sling one day.

What a 2000 hr engine change? An overhaul?
Great work guys. Any future development in an electric version. Or something similar to the Jetson one. Would be epic to see a South African in the ring.

Yes we are definitely at Osh again. Have been for the last 11 years now. We are flying some High Wings over to the show too!

Is the engine overhauled or is it completely replaced at 2,000 hours? Or do you put a new engine in while the old one is being overhauled?
So it sounded like other countries can have a complete sling tsi built and delivered. Is this true?
Any idea when a six seater Sling will be available? In high or low wing.
Can I get the STL File to 3d print my own model of the sling?
Is that the 2000hr engine change or overhaul?
Since most people don’t want to be grounded for months, while the engine is overhauled, it’s probably a change out with an overhauled engine.

Interesting, but I have to say: Your people look like they are working in slow motion AND way too much hand work.
Remember, if you’ve never made a video to show customers your process, you don’t rush through procedures, you take your time, so the camera man can pick the best parts. Most likely they don’t take a minute to measure something when they don’t have lights and cameras on them. Anybody with common sense knows that. Looks like they’re doing a great job.
