What's in a Name: Understanding species, cultivars and hybrids

An important aspect when selecting native plants for your garden is to understand what specific plant you are looking for. Common names can gives us an easy way to begin learning but, Botanical names ensure we correctly identify plants we cultivate or see while hiking.
f you feel overwhelmed with learning botanical names and don’t know where to start this is for you! Cultivars and Hybrids will also be covered so, next time you are looking for new natives for your garden you can have a better understanding of what they are and how to tell the difference.
