This had to be very physically demanding because they are not using stunt doubles here. What a great show! I love how Luke's street smarts and knowledge comes in so handy. Robert is a professional but Luke knows the area. An unbeatable team! I love how they open the door and there is Lucy!
This was such an incredibly exciting time for soaps. Nobody was doing anything like this. I was so thrilled to have been a part of the live viewing audience back in the day!
@@cindys5426 Ah that's too bad. I saw an interview when he said that the surgery made him aware of his mortality and that is when he decided to finally retire.
Not a Tony Geary stunt double. Tony was supposed to climb out on the rope and stop, then the stunt double would take over. He kept going. Note how the camera zooms in when everyone realizes he's going all the way.
I must have missed this when it was on. Had my baby then so I couldn't always watch. Thanks Suss for all these clips. I just keep smiling looking forward to the next clip!
Was watching with my mother when this originally aired, it was so delightful and surprising.. I can't believe I didn't somehow "know" she would pull something like this, however since I had watched it from '78.
I meant Laura, when I said "she," ha.. got caught up in deep thought. I had thought of it as some kind of a locker in my memory, but I see it was more like a closet. Tony had dance training I believe.. it could account for his gracefulness on the rope compared to either T.R. or stunt person, but I think it looked like T.R. could be wrong..
I agree, it really showed dedication to the authenticity of the scene and the character.. that's part of what made/ makes(?) TG great.... a real need for the integrity of his character.
Yes I do agree with you especially now well today Luke madebeautiful magci and music with only his Laura. And that is all i’ going to say about this subject. Thanks Rosie
Watching this on a large screen TV is great! It is so obvious TR and AG did their own stunts. AG slides across that rope like a monkey! You have to admire TR for pulling himself onto the boat by himself, even if he did fall a few times. Thanks sussezq for these playlists. I didn't get to watch much of this the first time around; but it really makes me feel old when I realize I owned a pair of blue pants just like what Laura is wearing!!
They would NEVER let an actor do that now... I remember thinking it was weird that he was ACTUALLY in the water with the Jennifer wedding scotty hitting him storyline... they had Anthony Geary, in a suit, soaking wet, IN the water... wonder if he had a choice... they didn't pull in tight to TR in this scene.. wonder if that was a stunt man.
I think both Tony and Tristan did this scene. Call me crazy but back then they were quite capable of pulling it off. You're right though, Suss. Nowadays, they would definitely use doubles because of liability.
My then-12-yo-self really thought Laura was going to be left behind and I hated that for her. I should have known better - there was no way she was going to allow that! lol!
Oh I don't... have spent LOTs of time on boats.. we had one when I was a kid... and been on a few cruises... just think peace and quiet and being alone (minus Mrs. Whitaker constantly interrupting) would be more peaceful.
I'm pretty sure they both did a lot of their own stunt work, but I think I read an article a while back that said TR couldn't stay on the rope and kept falling in the water (don't quote me on that!), I'll try to find it!
Would have been a good ending for the night.. but I think their would have been a revolt if I stopped that soon after taking 2 nights off this week! LOL
A little trivia! Jon Cypher here who plays Maximillian played the first Prince Charming in the original Cinderella musical tv pay and the second Prince Charming? Why it was the handsome Stuart Damon who pays Alan on GH
That is Tony... He did an interview I saw once and said that he did 95% of his own stunts.... One of them he blew his knee on was jumping off the balconey to punch Scotty at his and Laura's wedding.
That's when it was good the greatest scorpio and Luke adventure of all time .Disney is too cheap to give them money to do a location shoot now.the closest they see the out side is when they show the real life hospital that you see in the opening
Well that is just rumor, right?.. would hate to suggest that they did not take their job seriously and made poor decisions regarding this stunt. It could have been dangerous.
THAT REALY WAS OUR LUKE, DOING HIS OWN ROPE TRICK GETTING ON BOARD THE YAUGHT. THE CLOSE UP WAS TO REVEALING NOT TO BE. NOT SURE ABOUT OUR ROBERT. LOVE THESE TWO TOGETHER. ( LNL CODE I W T W T S W L )
I just never cared for them. Was only watching to see how Robert Scorpio was introduced on GH. I only began watching full time after the avalanche. And quit watching full time about the same time he left in 85.
+Raeperk57 Okay so you don't like them... why need to make any comments about them at all. Laura saved Lukes ass on NUMEROUS occasions ... do you know her at all?? He needs her there.
She was always interupting !!!............ I dont get car sick when I drive I always thought I would out grow this motion sickness Never did !! The kids would like to try deep sea fishing ... To afraid to try the ride in would be horrible . ..some one told me about this medicine called Bodine its used for motion sickness!

dharmagrrrl I know! I was parked in front of the tv EVERY afternoon at 2:00 sharp!
Damn skippy so was I Thanks Rosie
Luke does his own stunts? VERY impressive.
Yes he did he did many too Love. Rosie
He has now had two major back surgeries due to all those stunts over the years.
@@cindys5426 Ah that's too bad. I saw an interview when he said that the surgery made him aware of his mortality and that is when he decided to finally retire.
All these interesting characters remind me of Agatha Christie’s Orient Express.
Gotta love the Members Only Jacket and the Blue Nikes!
personal feeling, I think Tony did his own rope climbing here! Way to go!
They had close up shot of him!!
Not a Tony Geary stunt double. Tony was supposed to climb out on the rope and stop, then the stunt double would take over. He kept going. Note how the camera zooms in when everyone realizes he's going all the way.
GO MY LUKE, SWEETY.
How long does it take one to drown? Buddy has been calling out for help for a while now‼🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Glad to help others, who didn't get to experience live back in the day, understand the draw of the audience to GH during this era.
@sussezq Thank you! God Bless you, Suss! 🤗😘
I must have missed this when it was on. Had my baby then so I couldn't always watch. Thanks Suss for all these clips. I just keep smiling looking forward to the next clip!
Glad you found it here. Hope you enjoy!!

That Lucy wig came in handy.
I know isn't it great!! One of my most favorite lines ever.... the whole concept was priceless and the delivery masterful!!
sussezq oh my gosh, that was hilarious!😂
ROBERT, SHE WALKED ON BOARD!!!!! GRRR ( LNL CODE I W T W T S W L )

Frances Larsen I think I remember hearing in an interview once TG said it was him on that rope.

YAY! Lucy Johnson! :) Now how can Luke keep his promise to protect her when she does what she wants? ROFL!
Laura: Hi.
ROFL!
She always does! That's what makes the world of Luke and Laura go round!!!
Who cares Laura was a hero then and now. Yes Thank you. Laura helped a lot so don’t go there Love Laura. Luke Robert... Love Rosie

I think TR had a stunt double, but IMO that was really TG
I think both Tony and Tristan did this scene. Call me crazy but back then they were quite capable of pulling it off. You're right though, Suss. Nowadays, they would definitely use doubles because of liability.
I would take the Whitaker farm house in Beacher's corners over this boat any day.
Love how Laura got on the boat and Laura's reaction to it!! LOL
lol, the last few seconds were excellent! Love Laura.
Oh, that special Cassadine music, lol. Man, I miss this stuff!!
My then-12-yo-self really thought Laura was going to be left behind and I hated that for her. I should have known better - there was no way she was going to allow that! lol!
TG did his own he was a dancer too. Laura came right on!
HA! I loved it when they opened that closet door! :)
stephanie That was the best, lol.
This is the episode when I got hooked on LnL for good.
I think its TG I remember reading somewhere he did alot of his stunt scenes
Oh I don't... have spent LOTs of time on boats.. we had one when I was a kid... and been on a few cruises... just think peace and quiet and being alone (minus Mrs. Whitaker constantly interrupting) would be more peaceful.
I remember the rope climb now and how impressed we all were with that then!
Wow! Tony Geary really climbed across that rope!
It was my favorite part!
So glad you are enjoying! Thanks so much for the note!!
Ya know, if you DON'T like LnL this is NOT the channel for you. 😡
I think TG did this stunt himself.. Not sure about TR? I think I read they both had been partying all night so they both were feeling quite good.
I'm pretty sure they both did a lot of their own stunt work, but I think I read an article a while back that said TR couldn't stay on the rope and kept falling in the water (don't quote me on that!), I'll try to find it!
Yuck... sounds like everyone earned their paycheck for this shoot! TG and GF said that everyone got sick.
love the ending
Yeah... I love it too!!! A lot! lol
Stowaways!
Good grief! How long does it take to fish a man out of the water?
As long as it takes for the heroes to get on the ship! LOL

I think they ended up being the only ones not sea sick and ran the lights and stage stuff themselves because everyone else was sick...
How I wish these could be restore to their original glory!
That is Tony... He did an interview I saw once and said that he did 95% of his own stunts.... One of them he blew his knee on was jumping off the balconey to punch Scotty at his and Laura's wedding.
I remember the same thing. Most of the guys, TG TR and later John Reilly did their own stunts and loved it!
Yeah.. I don't think it was TR either.
If you do find it I would love to read it. Thanks! ; )
I cant remember TR commenting whether he did his on stunt work
Victors eyebrows look like caterpillars
who's composing the music around 1:20-2:29
Sus Me too !!! I get car sick, air sick , never been on a boat sut I am betting I get sea sick too!!! LOL
Me too!!
Hi. lol
Sorry... certainly cannot accept the Cassedine crown... you are and shall always be king! ; )
Just like elementary school!
Hmm guess that's why they changed it's name later on... shhh.

I think it was pretty selfish of Laura to make an already dangerous mission more dangerous. It shows she still needs to mature more.
Raeperk57 Luke is the same way. Wouldn't be a story without them.
Laura did her job right.
+L ellingw yep
