Luke and Laura are pronounced man and wife... they greet their guests. (10 points to whoever spots in this crowd, the person, besides TG and GF, we need to be incredibly thankful to for these amazing characters and great story...) she was a genius!! I wish we could thank her now. What a testament that you are watching and enjoying this almost 30 years later! )

My Grandmother had cancer, when I was in high school. She started watching GH with me. We enjoyed watching the Luke and Laura wedding.

And I love it in 2020! I’m 58 and I’d never watched FH when I was younger!!!! My family was stuck on Peyton Place, Another World, The Bold and the beautiful and I’ve forgotten which other one.... with Victor, Nicky, Ashley, etc... crazy🤪🤪🤪🤪. But this?!?!?! Is BY FAR the very best. I lost interest when their children got older though. I didn’t like the storyline and the fact that the children were rude to their parents and why in Hell have Luke tell his kids about the “not-really-rape”?!?! You don’t demean an actor of his stature!!! But I’m no Monty. 🤷♀️

I love how maternal Aunt Ruby was towards Laura, she always knew that Laura ALWAYS had Luke's heart, no matter what....
Aunt Ruby raised Luke & Bobbi. Her brothel wasn’t actually conventional but Aunt Ruby gave them a home.
I love how it was so realistic the way they made their way through the crowd of people, thanking everyone for coming. Those little touches are what made it just the BEST.
To see Lee, & Gail give Luke & Laura their blessing brought tears to my eyes. I can’t imagine how hard it was for them, but Lee, & Gail were very gracious.
This day is burnt in my memory forever. I treasure everyone of these clips and so glad to see younger generations watching! Ms. Francis and Mr. Geary are the very best ever.....Happy Anniversary Luke and Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This wedding looks so real and the actors so natural. Just as I remember it. You can watch it over and over and never see a false moment.
Yep as good today as it ever was. Actually probably better. We took at least decent TV for granted. Now so much of it is lousy that the efforts put into this daytime drama during this time frame seem almost astounding. Incredible entertainment!

When they ran down the red carpet after their vows.....couldn't help but say ....the best of Luke & Laura is when they are on the run to the next adventure!!! This once in a lifetime love story can Not be over!!!

Today is November 16th. Its been 39 years, since Luke and Laura wed. So far no acknowledgement in today's episode.
It was like a royal wedding! I watched it back then. She looked so beautiful like a princess.
Tony Geary and Genie Francis were so young and the BEST at everything acting chemistry they made it all look so real! Genie was only 17 here I believe. Amazing!!

Thank you for posting ALL of these clips. It is heart warming to see these old clips when Soaps were in their prime. LnL were married by the time I can remember seeing them in the 90's. So it's great to be able to watch how it all came to be instead of just reading. Soaps are special to me because it was time I shared with my mom :) GH today can at times be frustrating to me. For the sake of the fans, I hope that when GH does come to a close they give LnL closure together!

Kayla Bryant I too watched General Hospital in the late 80s and the 90s with my mum. She always told me about how great the duo of Luke and Laura were, and what a pair Luke and Robert were. It has been amazing to get to see all these old clips, I am very grateful that they are out here for all of us to see and enjoy!!!!
Think that the Elizabeth Taylor appearance, along with the incredible Luke/Laura story is why this attracted 30 million viewers
The pause when Laura says "my lawful wedded husband" at about 2:25 ish is nicely done. We must remember that it is only lawful as long as Scotty doesn't contest it! That must be in the back of the character's mind.
It did. After Scotty caught the bridal bouquet, and He and Luke got into the fist fight, in which Luke KO’d Scotty, when Scotty said he was going to contest the divorce, Luke said, “LIKE HELL YOU ARE!!!”

At the celebration of LnL's "remarriage," I remember that Jackie Zeman said the way Tony and Genie looked this day was forever etched in her memory. She said Tony was so handsome and Genie was so beautiful. They really were, and naive me thought they would be together forever as LnL.

Mr. Geary's hair is naturally straight. This was a perm specifically for the role of Luke. He started the first scenes with straight hair.
Back in the 80s, 90% of African Americans had Luke's hairstyle. We called it a "Gheri-Curl." It was very popular! Now, not so much...lol
It made a come back recently on the 20s.

This ain't the same couple that divorced. Me and my Grandmother would have bet our favourite candy bars that they would always be married. If I had known they would break up, I could have tried out for cheerleader. I could have been more sociable. Everything was predicated on LNL...I loved every moment watching with my Grandmother.
Why doesn’t ABC take the time to re-air this since there showing reruns.
Sometimes I wonder if there ever would have been a Helena Cassadine if Elizabeth Taylor didn't insist on being on the show. The part was created especially for her. Tristan Rogers in an interview, "Originally the LnL wedding was planned for Spring of '82. It was moved up and rushed to film it to accommodate HER schedule."
Gloria Monty came to the wedding? I am way SO Impressed! I am so glad she did that. Who would have thunk it... that we would be sharing these scenes again almost 30 years later??

I agree. To see Laura, their ex-daughter-in-law, marry Luke was probably hard for them, but I’m glad Lee, & Gail came around. The only thing left to do was make Scotty see the light.

When I first watched this....[at 12yrs] I remember that I was highly annoyed when they would leave the Wedding for 1 second, for the stupid Cassidine stuff!!!! Even today, I kinda know why they had to but , but it still bugs me!!!!
What can I say? THE wedding all daytime soap operas wished they could’ve at least equaled much less surpassed has arrived 43 years ago…I had just started watching GH back when they were on the island fighting off the mad scientist Mikos Cassadine. I was 13 years old st the time watching it after school. The beautiful Laura and Tiffany catching my gaze in early puberty. Glad I stuck around faithful to the show for a few years after that. But why did they have Luke and Laura break up? Should’ve never have happened. Period.

In 1981, another Soap Couple got Married in The UK named Ken Barlow & Diedre Ann Langton, on Britian's Longest Running Soap Opera Coronation Street. They were married by a Real Life Minister The Reverend Topping A Celebrity Minister and folks thought they were actually married. Sadly Anne Kirkbride died of Cancer in 2014.

I think the permed hair was to give Luke a softer, more likeable look, and I think they were right. I felt like it wasn't Luke anymore when he cut the hair in 1997.
