Very nice - and rare Pierce Arrow ! It is surprisingly big. Beautiful presentation and impressive engineering on this 100+ year old classic. If not for My Car Story with Lou, I never would have seen this beauty. Thanks Lou!
Hi Jeff, I agree, this car ONE BIG CAR coming down the road. My pleasure being able to share this one, and happy to share it with you. You're welcome, Lou
Absolutely fantastic Lou. What a piece of craftsmanship and beauty from a period lost in time. It's great that Larry and Taylor have become so familiar and conversant about the details of this fine automobile. Do you know how much one of these would have sold for back in 1920? As always Lou, thanks for video and sharing with your viewers. Best to you and the family in 2022.
Hi Kevin, High praise :-) MSRP in 1919 was $6,450.00 - $9,450.00. You're welcome. Thank you for the kind words, and my best to you and your Family in 2022 too, Lou
Jay Leno has a Pierce Arrow model 61 ,I don't remember what year it was. The reason why these cars weigh 6000lb is because the body panels are cast alloy. Another trivia is the cars made by Pierce Arrow was made in Buffalo NY. Nice Automobiles and great video
That's probably the rarest gem you ever featured Lou 🤔. And I looked up what those shocks cost in today's dollars: The 2.73% inflation rate means $1100 in 1919 is equivalent to $17672.99 today. That is actually pretty shocking 😁
Thanks Lou for the history lesson of a very important historic vehicle. Your friends here sure made it look easy starting and operating this incredible Pierce Arrow of 1919. A beautiful old roadster, wow!
One of the greatest of rare cars. The condition of this car can only be described as perfect. Hal also did a superb job. Happy this car survived and was restored so well, ii's priceless.

Another impeccable car from Mr. Read. It truly is amazing to see this rare car up close and in pristine condition even after all these years! Thanks, Lou!
GREETINGS. From Venezuela, WOW! WOW!. MAGNIFICENT PIERCE ARROW CLASSIC SPORTS. Mr. Lou, Thank you very much for showing us this GORGEOUS SPORTS AUTOMOBILE. Mr . Lou, Thanks for takings us along for the ride. EXCELLENT VIDEO.
This is super cool. My maternal grandfather was a Ford mechanic who made all his own tools. I never met him because he died when my mother was about twelve. In the basement of their family home, up until the late '60s, there was a front passenger fender for a Pierce Arrow. Grandma had no recollection why Grandpa had it, but it had been in the cellar since about 1921. haha. So up until today, I don't think I've ever seen more than the fender! Great looking car, and I love the pin-striping story. How funny. Thanks for sharing.
One of your greatest hits! What a treat! One of four and 100 yrs old? Blimey! Imagine the gentleman prepping car for church while his wife was finishing primping herself. Also imagine pulling up to the church surrounded by horse drawn carriages in dirt lot. (if ever there was a horn to toot, awesome)
What a sight to behold! This is definitely something that one doesn't see every day! A Pierce Arrow was one of the very first cars at the turn of the 20th century. It was made before chrome was invented, making the nickel plated fixtures shine in their own unique way. A head turner indeed!
Imagine a cross country trip on dirt trails in 6000 pounds of that! Lou, you always deliver greatness. No need to watch first these all are "like"able videos.
Hi Unkill Big Bad, That would be an interesting trip, and in 1919, would you be able to find enough gas stations? I'm not sure. I appreciate the kind words "Lou, you always deliver greatness" :-) Lou
This is when your show shines bringing the rarest of rare! Didn’t even know of the existence of such a beast. Lol a definite museum piece. Keep the car knowledge coming.
Hi David, Happy to read you enjoy the rare ones I find :-) My pleasure learning about the cars right along with you. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
What a treat to see all the moving exposed mechanics and that janitor key set was something else lol thanks Lou you the man!!! That ride along was a instant smile maker!
I love the old cars from back then. I would check out the same book at the library at school every week in elementary school just to digest every picture and word of it, and it was about the first couple of decades of cars of the 20th century, and I could swear this was in it. It looks very familiar. Great episode Lou!
Hi Zach Diecast Mansur, Happy to read this one brings back memories of the book you enjoyed in Library :-) Appreciate the kind words on the "Great episode", Lou
Hi B dot Allen, Happy to read you find this vehicle "Amazing" :-) Not sure what cars will look like in 100 years from now. I'll do my best to share as many stories as I can to leave a legacy of the ones I enjoy, and I hope you enjoy the ones I like too, Lou
Hi, Lou! Seven feet tall. Yao Ming ought to feel quite comfortable sitting behind the wheel of this one! Don't know how big a deal 48 horsepower was a century ago, although that doesn't seem like much to move three tons of automobile (and the mother-in-law), and this was more of a slow-motion ride than we're used to seeing on this channel. Regardless, the looks were always distinguishable even in an era when all the cars seemed to look alike (to me). You could always tell a Pierce-Arrow by the wide headlamp placement. BTW, I visited the Pierce-Arrow Museum in Buffalo when my station wagon club held our convention there. You should go there if you ever get a chance, and be sure to try some original Buffalo wings at the Anchor Bar while you're in town! Many thanks to you and Larry and Jordan for this grand tour of an ultra-rare classic! AHOOOOOGA!
Nice!!!!! There’s a Pierce Arrow in Sylmar Ca that came with a travel trailer! Amazing workmanship. Three of the Pierce Arrow Busses were made into rail busses. Reworked many times. We have ridden in one of them..
Love to see a car I've haven't seen before what a rare experience of automobile history cars Like that you can only see in a museum bit not see run and drive what a treat
What an awesome car , and you can really tell that Larry Loves his car and is very proud of it , which makes the video even more special ! Great 👍 job by Larry , Taylor & Lou showing this Beautiful , Spectacular Car ! Love the engine & horn sounds ! For the year that it was built , I’m really impressed with the engineering !
A nice departure. Was very nice to watch at the end of an otherwise crappy evening, thanks. I fell asleep soon after watching last night when researching Pierce-Arrow online. A very interesting manufacturer for many modes of transportation
Hi Sabba_Dabba, Keep the Viewers guessing what's next. Happy to read this brings joy at the end of a crappy evening :-) Glad you rested after some research, Lou
I'm pretty sure the car is capable of more than 35 - 40 mph. With only rear wheel brakes and 3 tons to stop, I wouldn't try driving it faster... but the car can go faster. Jay Leno's 1918 Pierce-Arrow Model 66 (similar size 6,000 lb monstrosity with an 825 cubic inch 6 cylinder) keeps up with freeway traffic at 70 mph. Packard's "Twin Six", powered by their 424 cubic inch V-12 of the same era (1915 to 1923) also had a 70 mph top speed... Anyway, thanks for sharing Lou & Mr. Reid! BEAUTIFUL motorcar!

What an incredible piece of history! And beautiful mechanical music! A great lesson of what motoring was like in the 1920s. About that driver door, or lack thereof: Chauffeurs it appears didn't get respect from the fine car companies, lol! Or mothers-in-law for that matter.
Hi Michael, Happy to read "What an incredible piece of history! And beautiful mechanical music!" :-) One quick turn of the steering wheel and the Mother-In-Law is in the dirt, Lou

That is one Gorgeous car Lou. I wonder what the top speed was. I ❤️ that horn too. Made me laugh. A friend of mine had bought a Chevy Caprice from a neighbor who put an antique horn like that in it. I always knew when he was pulling into our driveway.

Lou just a beautiful car the mother-in-law seat wouldn't it be better to put the mother-in-law in the trunk that little trunk behind that seat that's where I'd have mine
Wow what a car. Never seen nothing like it before.I have seen a couple Pearce Arrow cars but they were in the 1930s. I read once that Babe Ruth even had a couple Pierce Arrow cars.As well as silent film comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, I believe that his Pierce Arrow is in a museum in California
I can understand why the mother-in-law was seated high on a 6.000 pound car without a roll bar. Only the passengers in the front had a chance of surviving a roll-over, through ducking towards the passenger compartment's floorboard. It's surprising that only 2 of these vehicles were sold for this very same reason. Wow! You could have bought an entire house in 1919, for the price of a complete set of those shock absorbers. Those headlight blinders were applied for driving on the right-hand side of the road. Given that the driver was to sit on the right, it seems that this vehicle was intended for sale in Great Britain or in Oceania
William Howard Taft brought the first cars to the White House. Congress gave him the money, and he bought two White Steamers and two Pierce-Arrrows. Pierce cars were in the White House fleet until they folded in the Great Depression. Monstrous machines!
Grant I checked out your 1975 Buick with T Top & after a bit of clean up, I think you're going to have a nice car. Here is a video I think you'll enjoy, Lou th-cam.com/video/dL6HgckyHb4/w-d-xo.html

Hi Al Dente, Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
William Howard Taft brought the first cars to the White House. Congress gave him the money, and he bought two White Steamers and two Pierce-Arrrows. Pierce cars were in the White House fleet until they folded in the Great Depression. Monstrous machines!
