I am 35, professional musician from Moscow. I've just read she died almost a year ago. When i was 22, this song meant much to me, it seriously did. I am 35 and i am crying listening to this right now. This is horrible when you are old enough that those who inspired you when you were young are dying. Fuck this, growing up is also watching things you love passing away. Rest in piece, Olga.
+Igor Muller I agree, she's one of my biggest inspirations to be a singer.. and also one of the reasons I want to learn Russian and Latin. I was 6 when I first heard her music which was through the anime "Ghost in the Shell" and loved her music ever since. I am 19, nearly 20 years old now.
I share your sentiment, but don't get too upset. If you leave behind something that has meaning to, or inspires, others who are still alive, and generations past that, are you really "dead"? Our actions when alive probably have more total significance, by their effect, than our physical life did.
_There's something oddly beautiful yet sad about someone who has died, but left there voice behind. No longer a ghost in a shell, but a ghost without a shell._
The first time I heard this song, I was napping on my bed with the TV on. It penetrated my dreams and woke me up. I stared the TV down until the song was over. I soon downloaded the song, and was hypnotized. I listened to it for 2 weeks every moment I didn't need my ears for my life responsibilities. At the time, I thought the song was more beautiful than my entire life, and I focused hard on becoming a person who's life had as much meaning as some random anime song. For over 15 years, this has been my favorite songs. It pulses at the beat of my heart, and vibrates in tune with my soul. I believe this song has the power to change a person's destiny, and whenever I make a major life decision, I do so with this playing in the background. Thank you for uploading.
I had the same reaction to Yoko's compositions for Escaflowne and Macross Plus, writ large. I spent a full month listening to all of it on repeat, going so far as to write 4-5 CDs of those tracks and lugging around a Boombox so I'd be able to continue listening even if I was in the shower, in the car (no CD-reader), or even asleep. She's timeless, as is her music.

This song is such a rarity. It's composition rivals some of the greats from the Baroque period. The lyrics speak of great joys and simultaneously unspeakable tragedies. Origa's voice conveyed everything in an otherworldly way. Most importantly of all, it speaks to my heart. I pray for her family, and for blessings and love on everyone who put this music together.
This song always touches my soul. It's a shame dear Origa passed away, I hope to meet her in the after life. The memories flow through of my childhood when listening to this. Thank you so much for the upload.
This song is so enchanting! Heavenly and inspirational lie raging against the dying light. God bless you Origa for adding this beauty to our world. We are blessed to have had you here with us.

Darkboy Chan I question there ever being a cure, it seems like the best way to handle it is to change your lifestyle into an extremely healthy direction to boost your immune system.
Every time I listen to this song I cry and I feel relieved, like some broken part of me is slowly healing. The translation of the lyrics, she's singing about how beautiful existence is and how much she wants to keep feeling and seeing it. The idea for the mind to keep experiencing in a human like way, even after the body dies. Feeling the passion and depths of the singer's love to continue seeing life, and knowing that she tragically died at a young age. Hoping that somewhere, somehow she still exists in some way and is still experiencing the vast beauty she saw in life. Are we in some way fulfilling her wish by hearing how she felt, by remembering her and her hopes?
I only heard about Origa passing away recently, and when I did, my heart broke into a thousand pieces. This song was one of the earliest themes I ever heard for an anime, and it was the only one along with 'Rise' that actually stuck with me throughout the years. I dare say if it wasn't for those songs, I might not even be an anime fan today. Thank you so much Origa. RIP.

Can't get it out of my head this track is about Motoko in general and the angst of being only one step away from being a robot. "To remain myself longer" "For what life has left me" "There's more than what can be linked" In the 95 movie, that was one of the big plot points anyway.
I feel so blessed for knowing of this song's existence...too bad that someone as talented as Origa died. Life really isn't fair :( I hope she's singing in heaven as well because I'd love to hear her angelic voice there too,if heaven really is real.
I've never heard a more beautiful mix of russian, english and latin... Thank you. I think it would be simply beautiful if composers and singers of all languages and genres could come together and create a single song that showcases our world and music
Reading the comments I'm shocked and saddened. The best part about the song was getting lost in hearing this siren singing, those perfect pitches and somber tones in her voice. I hope that people remember most about her is what she left behind. Gems such as this and how it affected others in a profound way as it did me, is why ten years later this is one song I can never forget.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Talent is off the charts. RIP to Origa. I just found out on Wikipedia while researching this song. Terrible to hear of her passing. She will live forever in her music!
For people asking about the languages and lyrics of this song: The song is in Russian, Latin, and English. Some wonderful people on the internet have painstakingly gone to the effort of translating all three languages, and a quick google search should pull up lyrics for any who are curious.
know this singer from the ghost in the shell many years ago, sad to hear her death, rip this song is really incredible, so many styles that could perfectly mix together, cant believe it is from 2003, it must made a great impact to all musician who heard of it.

Владислав Елизаров I don't know why you'd be proud of a song where only a fraction of it is sung in that said language.. That's like being Mexican and proud of The Mocarena....
Fred Harvey lol, it's that it's quite unusual to run into full-blown Russian in parts of an anime song. Most anime are in mixes of Japanese and English for the most part. This kind of transcends that beautifully.
This song was on a mix CD I got from a friend in Jr High (26 now) and I never knew the artist! I clicked on this by accident, what an unexpected punch by nostalgia!!!!
So hauntingly beautiful and yet has that pulsing beat like a heart still trying to live long after everything has shut down. Both melancholic and sonic driven and the combination of three languages back and forth that flows seamlessly. Remember hearing this for the first time in the OP of the 1st season of SA when i was 21-22. This song still delivers to me then what it does now. Great eye opener to go alongside Lithium Flowers as the ED
Que clase de personas hermosas pueden crear este arte!!! Gracias por excitar mis sentidos, como puedo conocer más temas así? no se el estilo y creo que necesito más,no,quiero más!!

Well 10 days from now Origa will have been gone from us in a better place. Her voice was simply amazing ;D The universe is yours now Origa
haven;t listened to this for a while. I had forgotten how panoramically breathtaking it is!
Rest in Peace and Love and Joy! Thank you.
there are so many covers for this song, but there's a long way until someone can make it better than this.
Origa is simply amazing ... RIP,
That feel when you are russian and hearing this song! It's amazing!
The lyrics aren't even Russian.. Derp
Fred Harvey She sings in Russian, English and Latin.
Владислав Елизаров I don't know why you'd be proud of a song where only a fraction of it is sung in that said language.. That's like being Mexican and proud of The Mocarena....
Fred Harvey I'm not proud at all Fred. I'm just simply surprised. =)
Fred Harvey lol, it's that it's quite unusual to run into full-blown Russian in parts of an anime song. Most anime are in mixes of Japanese and English for the most part. This kind of transcends that beautifully.
Part of my childhood died once this artist along with many others passed away.Rest.In.Paradise origa you are missed by millions.
I'm reading that people are sad about the singer's death, and I didn't know who she was... Now I'm sad.
This song was on a mix CD I got from a friend in Jr High (26 now) and I never knew the artist! I clicked on this by accident, what an unexpected punch by nostalgia!!!!
I thought there must be something going when I suddenly decided to search for Origa on TH-cam in the afternoon..... She will be missed....
She had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.
Origa passed away..
RIP.
And to lung cancer of all things.... R.I.P. Origa, will never forget this song.
wow. I am heartbroken. I got to meet her at Otakon and hear her beautiful voice.
RIP :(
*****
Beethoven still wrote shymphonies while going deaf, though.
glad to know you have no life and need thumbs, but theres always gotta be *that guy*.........
- R.I.P.
0ff5PR1NG I think she continued to write music despite the cancer.
As others have mentioned, mad props on sound quality. This kind of clarity does a happy audiophile make.
Goosebumps every time I hear it.
This is the sound of a soul resonating in perfect harmony with all things around it. Nirvana is not far off for her
AHH THE CLARITY, THE HD, THE VOICE, AGGHGH SO MUCH EARGASM.
I want this at my funeral.
Sam Evans I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes :)
When are u scheduling it?
Great quality compared to the some of other versions available on TH-cam. Thanks for that.
Que clase de personas hermosas pueden crear este arte!!! Gracias por excitar mis sentidos, como puedo conocer más temas así? no se el estilo y creo que necesito más,no,quiero más!!
I agree.
Whenever I hear it I always see the most beautiful images in my mind.
Que maravilla de composición musical, sublime , eléctrico y fu-turista sonido.
I started crying after "...Beskoneshnyj beg..." I mean it. Epicness of song combined with death of singer, Origa, gives you such a deep affection... Can't even describe it.
I love this song. it was the opening theme for Ghost in a shell. sad to hear that she passed away from lung cancer. my cousin really wanted to meet her.
Wow ! The quality of this song is amazing !
how the fuck someone can dislike this??
some ppl are just frustrated i think
I put on headphones, I close my eyes and my mind goes wild. This is amazily well-done and here my headphones catch every detail.
This better be in the movie!
right lmao
they wont bother getting the rights for this song.
It looks like it's going to skew more Kenji Kawai than Yoko Kanno, so I doubt it.
It's just fantastic. The last minute especially...
Origa, you are always a incredible legend. RIP
also props on the sound quality! this is the clearest i've heard this song play on youtube
御冥福をお祈りします RIP, Origa…
Just an amazing piece of music!
Amazing soundtrack, uplifting, ethereal, spiritual, connected!!!!
Ahhh, I love this song and SAC 2nd Gig. So amazing.
OMG at last I found the name of the anime and this song it's always got stuck in my head since the last 18 years I used to watch it but then I stopped because of school and I'm very depressed that I heard that she passed away
RIP Origa I will always remember your beautiful voice and how you get me going love you forever
POOR YOU
....WHO CARES HOW YOU FEEL ?
A childhood favorite for me. Use to listen to this and Rise to help me go to sleep.
She is an amazing singer, it's so unfair that she past away.
