I feel like Waterparks are the band that is helping bring elements of pop punk to a younger audience. Like they are using the pop formula and meta but bringing in some elements of alternative with the drums and guitar and the vocals. Feels a but nostalgic for older stuff but also has the newer elements of mainstream that makes it feel fresh.
It’s catchy. The singer is on top of their game and the chorus has some great chords. The breakdown during the middle eight section was kind of overwhelming tbh 😅 The unresolved ending - I admire the guts that it takes to do that, but it’s kind of frustrating at the same time.
On Fandom (their last album), Waterparks had quiet a few transitions between songs. So, chances are, Numb transitions into the next song on the album (Violet!), which is currently unreleased. Also, the ending of the music video (with the sky and the birds tweeting), isn't a part of the actual song, it's just on the music video (for some reason, but if Violet! has a music video, it could be a transition into that).
PLEASE do more Waterparks!!!! I will subscribe and wait for y'all to do more. I'd love to see High Definition, We Need To Talk, Dream Boy, Violet!, Fruit Roll Ups, I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don't Wanna Die Anymore, Watch What Happens Next, Telephone, Peach (Lobotomy), 21 Questions, and Turbulent!!! I so badly want this; PLEASE
Don't particularly like the song, not my thing, but we definitely need more bands abandoning the verse - chorus - verse - chorus - bridge - chorus - chorus template, so they get kudos for that.
