    Great stuff Ste, the dancing hands are back describing the project. And there is not a morsel of cork in sight. 3D printed will give you the most choice for the models.
    Patrol markers are great Ste, you will need to colour the base edge.

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Leslie! There is cork on the combat patrol markers but apart from that, not a lot! I'm looking at some really nice 3d printed vehicles and hope to add these soon 👍

    Cracking work and thanks for the shout out. I do the same as you with the tufts to show the different companies.

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Alex, much appreciated. The tuft thing is such an easy thing to do but really does make a difference. I think Soviets may be up next 👍

      That's awesome, cheers Tim! I definitely have a thing for 15mm at the moment and I'm looking at my next O Group project, possibly Soviets 😀

    @andyshaw5378 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video, I really like the idea of using different tufts to denote the companies. Subtle but once you know, it helps them to stand out to show who is who. 👍

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andy and definitely agree with this. The tufts thing is less intrusive and mixes in with the basing so just works 😀

      @@OnPointHQ with mine I painted the rear facing base edge red, blue, and green

    This all came together well. The battered & missing schurzen are a realistic touch. I like the use of support weapon stands at the edge of the table as reminders of off-table assets - I’ve seen too many people forget to use a bombardment in different games!

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, much appreciated! I think with O Group being a very abstract game the tanks etc can be seen as playing pieces rather than individual vehicles like in Bolt Action or Chain of Command. I always enjoy working at 15mm so adding extra details like these is always enjoyable 😃👍

    Stunning work in 15mm there, Mate... (Love how you've done the 'camo' on the vehicles, really 'muted' and authentic looking...) I'll give you a laugh, tho'... "I need to add some toes on these, of course..." (FOR A SPLIT SECOND I thought, 'He's going to paint F%%KING TOES on 15mm minis????' Then I got it... 'TOWS' as in tractors... Ahhh... Makes more sense...) xx SF

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Steve, much appreciated as always mate! The camouflage effect was something I stumbled upon as I'm not great at painting camouflage schemes so wanted to see if it could be achieved with just drybrushing and washes. It's a bit more time consuming but I like the effect. Hahaha! I can see why that would sound strange but probably a good time to use the 10 zero size brush I picked up recently 😅

      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Dan! I always like to see how much of the things that I do at 28mm can be transferred to 15mm and this definitely includes basing. I think it really adds something to this scale 😀

    Great work Set! I've built 2 Turnip 28 army's because of your videos so don't get me hooked on WW2... we for sure need an O group battle report though 👍

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Woohoo! Always good to know that people are working on Turnip28. I have definitely found that 15mm is quite an addictive scale to paint and I finished both battalions in a relatively short space of time 😁👍

      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Paul. I'll be honest, I was super impressed with how the armour turned out! I'm not the greatest at painting camouflage schemes and was dreading the late war camouflage on these. But with a patient drybrushing and washes, I seem to have managed it 😃

      Thank you! It was a spur of the moment deciding. I was working on putting individual company letters on the poker chips and then remembered I had a lot of leftover figures that I could put to use. Makes the patrol markers look a bit more interesting 😃

  • @diceassault
    @diceassault ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great work! 👍I think enjoying 15mm has to do with less artistic options and choices (e.g. did I have put enough work into my 28mm character model? Perhaps another layer of shading? I think I finished the eyes much better last time, etc.) and more a little bit like "painting by numbers". Creating little scenic bases is easier to obtain without drowning in necessary detail work like in 28mm... 15mm is a bit more "forgiving" I think and I enjoy a little 15mm variety on my desk myself ATM. Keep up your dope work - this is really a kickin`motivational vid! :-)

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks buddy and definitely agree with this! When I am painting 15mm scale there is always a line where I have to stop as there is always a danger that you can overdo the painting at this scale. I've painted so many of these infantry over the past fortnight or so that I know exactly when they are done. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😀👍

      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Steve! I shall definitely be continuing with more 15mm.
      Hahaha! Do they really? I'd like to think I stole my presenting style from Ashens 😅

      @@OnPointHQ they've gone hands only. Saying for easy dubbing for other languages.but most people think it's to counter the fact Duncan and Peachy left

  • @lorainehenderson3416
    @lorainehenderson3416 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lovely paint job on the armour. What did you use and how did you achieve that effect?

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Loraine! It's all done through drybrushing and washes. I apply the base colour and then use quite a heavy drybrush to add the green and camouflage stripes/pattern. After this is quite a deep wash of a mix of black and sepia. When dry, I drybrush the original colours over the pattern before using a very light drybrush of khaki over the whole model. The last step is applying the black wash to all recesses and gaps. Hope that helps 😀👍
