    Great edit Jeremy. You are the master of all things foil surfing.
    I have been using the FD with the Armstrong midlength 55 with no antenna and don’t have an issue. I’m 77kg so maybe more of the board is out of the water. As well FD has been continuously updating the tech on the connection so the more recent units that have shipped this summer have had no connection issues on any boards we have been trying at REAL.
    Keep the content coming and stoked to see you having fun with your family.

    Bought a max unit. Bad connectivity on my carbon Majek board with carbon tracks. Nothing worked until FD sent me an antenna unit. Worked perfectly the first ride out!

    Good review and footage and glad you called out some issues other’s have avoided.
    The external antenna is ugly and expensive for something that should have worked out of the box.
    There’s a big difference to the flow of your foiling and turns in the footage where you use the boogie vs the FD, this goes for everyone even the top notch riders it undoubtedly adds a hitch to the riding.
    Having said that I still think an assist unit of some variety is the quickest, easiest and best way for someone new to foiling to learn (especially the prone and downwind disciplines) so they have a place in foiling I’m just not sure that’s in the lineup.

    Nice footage thanks. Crazy a unit that costs 8k plus has these issues. I’d imagine the future tech and competition will be there in the next year or so. Bring on some innovation and a 2k unit 🤙

      A 2k unit will bring 30 foilers to your local beach with the inexperienced ones causing carnage to others and themselves. A swimmer will get run over and then a ban put in place. Like a $2 shop item, it may look the same but will it perform the same.

    Hello, Jeremy, I have being looking after your progressions for few years now, always very inspirational 🤙
    I am looking into getting a MA board for winging and a bit of proning, I weight 70kg and would appreciate your opinion if the 55l version can work well in my case.
    I am pretty sure it will acceptable ok for pronning in the reasonable condtionions, but a bit "worried" how it will work for winging in 10-12 knots, atm I have 5'0 x 23'' x 60l (very similar to Armsrong "regular" wing board 2021-22 model) and can start it with my current foils in 10kts+. Would it be safe to believe that the new longer shape optimized for speed would forgive 5l reduction in volume, considering I am already 10kg below the neutural/positive buoyancy?

    • @oceanpixels9408
      @oceanpixels9408  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bohdanafanasyev3642 it’s a epic all rounder. So I wing the 55l but I don’t really bother going out in winds under 15knts. A friend of mine I was speaking to just last week is about 80kg and loves his 65l. He takes it out light wind winging all the time. It has a very “surfy” feeling to it when turning

    • @user-hd9mb9bf8z
      @user-hd9mb9bf8z หลายเดือนก่อน

      A Chinese version will end up costing you in the long run and no doubt will rust and have huge issues. The support from foil drive is amazing with any problems you have. The tech and time thats gone into this unit is incredible. My progress in the last 6 month with the gen 2 has saved me a year or 2 of paddling and frustration. But I guess at the end of the day you get what you pay for. I payed $9200 NZD for the max and it was money well spent.

  • @ptj6412

    I really like the Armstrong midsize board, but hate the idea of having to run an antenna cable…. Do you think having a “window” cut/glassed in the front and between the rails would work?

    • @oceanpixels9408
      @oceanpixels9408  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ptj6412 it’s not ideal but it does work. It makes it a bit hard to move the mast also but I’m told to make a little coil at the mast that way you can move the mast forward or backwards without having to tape up the whole board again. Little tricks help.
      I’m also told you can drill a hole in the board or something but I have not done that and probably should not recommend it either

      I have used the Armstrong midlength 55 a lot with FD and connectivity is solid without an antenna. Im 77kg. If I run it underwater for 5 seconds starting it will cut out but besides that the connect is 💯
