    I preordered a Foil Drive Gen2 Max with the max battery and trying to figure out if I should upgrade to the 3 blade prop? I’ve watched your videos on it but that was with using the Gen 1 system. I’ll be using it for all disciplines on the Gulf Coast of Florida where the waves are mostly wind swell on the smaller/weaker side. I weigh 76kgs and an intermediate foiler with a lot of efoiling experience. Thanks!

      Given your weight it may not be necessary. The three blade does provide that initial thrust but will take off your top end speed a tad. The same notes apply with the Gen1 and Gen2 systems with the Three Blade Propeller. It's really designed to help you get out of the water easier, depending on your board and foil selection, you'll likely prefer a two blader.

    Awesome new product! Is it possible to leave the mast (including pod), motor cable and alu box attached all the time?

    • @foildrive
      @foildrive  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure is! As long as you are cleaning thoroughly with fresh water, you'll need to remove everything for a big clean every so often but you can leave it all set up for your next session.
      You do however have to remove the rotor from the motor and ensure this is clean, dry and lubricated after every use.

    I want to use an Appletree Appleslice v2, which is full carbon. Is that an okay plan with gen2? Im in freshwater, if that matters. Or I can get a fiberglass board. Which board do you have here?

    • @foildrive
      @foildrive  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sure is! Ben actually has this board. You do have to use the provided Mast Track Foam Inserts and depending on your weight/board volume, when first taking off you may need to touch the controller to the nose of the board to further improve connectivity.

    Will this work on a 130L board to assist in light wind wing foiling?

    I received my Foil Drive and my correct pod adapter for my mast but it's not tightening down properly. It still has play to move up and down the mast a little bit. I triple check all these steps to make sure I am lining it up correctly before tightening each one a little at a time. Will you motor pod still move a bit on the mast or should it be completely tight without any play? Thanks!

      Hey! If you can send some pictures to support@foildrive.com we can take a look for you.
      You don't want the motor pod to move at all when installed. I also saw your note about Nose Cone Rocker Pads, send that through in your email as well! - Caitlyn

    Paul, how much do you weigh? I’m curious how hard it is for an average person to get up on such a small board like that?

    • @woodythetuber
      @woodythetuber ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He’s 96KG according to his batteries comparison videos.

    • @uop42
      @uop42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@woodythetuber Curious how skilled you have to be to be that heavy and ride a 45L board. I’ve read comments on the Facebook group about how some people found it easier to get up on a higher volume board, those people weren’t doing prone surfing / wave power though but it looked like he just did full throttle, couple of paddles, and was up but that hasn’t been my experience. Assuming rider skill level so was curious.

    • @woodythetuber

      @@uop42 the power delivery on gen 2 is significantly better by the looks of it.

    • @foildrive
      @foildrive  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct, 95kgs.
      Paul has a range of boards he riders, his main note is that narrower, but slightly longer boards are his preference. While some practice would be needed, his size board is very doable for an "average rider", being a very lose term. There are so many variables to keep in mind but practice goes a long way! Some riders, while they can get up on a smaller board, may prefer something a little larger. The Assist MAX has plenty enough power to get someone of a similar weight up on a small board, it then relies of technique. If you do opt for something smaller, a few sessions on flatwater wrapping your head around the take-off will be very helpful!

    Why did you turn on the controller before putting the battery in?

    • @foildrive
      @foildrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the system has not been previously paired, the controller must be on and in pairing mode before plugging in the battery. Once it is paired you don't ned to do that. All kits come pre paired as well.

    I just have one comment of warning. DONT try to put your board together on the sand as shown in this video for fear of losing , even one screw in the sand.. I can't get wait to get in the water on my new gen2
