Awesome video, thank you sir for posting. My first bike was a 1973 Yamaha CT3 175 and seeing the tank and other pieces for sale got a huge smile out of me. Dad found a leftover CT3 at Kaufman’s Yamaha in Christiana for me. On the ride up he was saying how he’d teach me how to negotiate a price. The dealer wanted $702 out the door. Hold on, dad worked his magic and we left paying $700. I’m not sure I learned anything about negotiating that day. We had a bunch of rope to tie it down in a van dad borrowed. We had absolutely no clue how to strap it down but the kid from Kaufman’s took care of it. Later that day I watched my dad and younger do most of the riding on it. I just couldn’t get the hang of the clutch and throttle since I had never ridden a bike before but neither had my younger brother. Fast forward 51 years and I’m still riding off-road and street. Pops is long gone and my brother’s a knucklehead living in Cali. Man I miss the Good Ole Days.
I absolutely love your swap meet videos!! You’re the only one who actually takes the time to go through the meet and show most of the bikes and parts and actually ask questions about them. Thanks for sharing another great video!!!
Thanks Dave. If I still wintered up there I'd go to this show but since I'm in SWFL now I depend on your excellent coverage of the show. You do a great job.
I Love Seeing these Bikes!! I've never seen most of these Brands. Growing up in Ohio in the seventies, we had the Japanese Manufacturers. Knew a guy who's brothers raced enduro's on Penton and Husqvarna. They were the most exotic bikes around, LOL. Keep up the swapmeet videos and I will see you at Mid-Ohio.
Another great video, You have such a great job, This would be every Motorcyclist pastime Dream, Man the attention to detail in them show bikes, Just beautiful, Today up in northern Florida, I am watching family Playing in the snow, I still have 10 or 11 days in bed recovery, But it was fun to watch them, We got 6/8 " easy, Thanks again for all the time you put in to your channel, Thanks, Pensacola,
1-Dave you taking the time to film this stuff gives us a chance to be there without being there for those of us that don't get the opportunity to go to these places that's what makes your videos worthwhile 2- sharing your knowledge of vintage bultacos and other bikes is another great reason to watch your videos makes it all worthwhile until the child is morons the dude that stuff to hell with them keep up the good work Dave
Thanks Dave, enjoying this in-depth series on the York meet. After hearing you talk about the Rickman Desert racer, I watched Steve McQueen: Desert Racer - on Peacock. It included details on Rickman building the first racers and development into later bikes. Without your content I wouldn’t have picked up on the history. Much appreciated!
Thanks again Dave nice to see a nice video where I can go like I'm there by looking on your video because I'm stuck inside with this freezing weather here that we got glad I've got something to look at thanks again
Don't sweat those weirdo people that think about weird things all the time. You have to figure that the greatest generation that ever lived are all but gone now or at least 100 years old. Everything else is just leftovers from who knows what drugs alcohol etc. Great videos, Thanks for taking time and putting in several hours to entertain us guys that cannot be there.
Good morning Dave it never ceases to amaze me there’s always someone with their low class comments thinking they’re cool when they’re really just low class people trying to be seen. I love all your videos. You have some of the greatest bikes 🏍️ I think I’m going to swap meets is excellent your videos are all excellent. I have nothing but good to say about you. Don’t let the haters get to you man because you have Excellent videos with great Contant. Thanks for the video you have a great day Dave 🇺🇸☘️⚡️⚡️
Hey Dave, great job as always, love the old school bikes always look forward to what you have next for us. Reminds me of the old days. Would love to own them all.
Don't overdo it after having Covid. I just had Diverticulitis bowel inflammation, and was in hospital for 4 days, still recovering at home. My brother in law says that it's caused by the stress of Covid. I think that he might be right.
Hallo Dave! Genau das richtige Video zum träumen an diese, kalten Wintertag. Absolut erstaunliche Ausstellung von raren Maschinen. Danke für‘s mit nehmen und gute Besserung!
The Fastener on the number plate on the Hallman Yamaha 500 is a Dzus Fastener, a 1/4 turn spring style fastener. You see them all over in Drag Racing and many other motorsports pgms. They work slick!
Is that Butch Miller the Carabella guy? I worked in a Maico Montesa shop across the street from his shop in library Pa. Our shop was Trans Am Cycle 49:42
I've mentioned before.. I'm now disabled.. I couldn't drive there in a 72 Lincoln (couch on wheels). Let alone walk to the building from parking lot... keep on truckin ' Dave
To me, being an old moto guy at 38 yrs young I love the maico 490 or the cr 1980 I think it was. I love the older stuff and props to the guys that raced those old bikes! The ones with minimum suspension and big engines. No thanks!
Geoff Morris Concepts. Australias preium frame, exhaust builder. His Yamaha HL kits are well built & engineered. Check his offerings, you'll be impressed. BSA B44 is my show pick, great show bikes. 🇭🇲👏👊🏁😁
I am a fan of the Yamaha 500 4 stroke singles, Sr.xt, tt, and i always notice you have a little shudder when you show one, must be a story behind that. They really are easy starting when you understand the use of the compression release. Mine seldom take more than one kick to fire up, and I am over 70. Fine machines, and riding one you can't help but grin.
Dave, Hope you feel better. Your videos are great. Tom from TNT Vinyl Designs also says hello. Just had him do some work for me for some of my bikes. He told me he did work for you also in the past.
Years ago I was a member of the VJMC 😊 at a meet i brought my YDS3 , YDS3C , 67 , R5 electric starter 😊 my X6 and X6 scrambler 😅😅 plus all my. Parts 😊 i teased everyone by bringing my SET of YDS3 original mufflers , in the factory bags with the Yamaha part # slip 😅😅😅😅
The old dirt bikes were just too beautiful to ride in the dirt. At 66 yrs old now I would just do a couple of power wheelies blast down a fire road then park it pull up my lawn chair grab my coffee and just look at it.
Looks like some restorations haven't got the colors just right. Been looking at bikes for 65yr(80yrs old now). Repaint matches must be hard to get right??
That cream colored Rickman was beautiful. Seems like there was some deals to be had at York this year. That BSA for $5500 seemed underpriced. The vintage British market is a bit soft right now as far as the prices go, especially Triumphs for some reason. It's a good to time to be a buyer. I wish I had more money in the bank.
Wow Dave, seems like every year or so you become impacted by the bottom feeders. Anyway, I too am looking forward to the Hercules restoration. Feel better Sir.
Those are some clean motorcycles. Also concerning the CanAm ( which both Can-Am and Rotax were owned by Bombardier) actually made the CanAm bikes in Canada till 1982 .I think Armstrong in England took over production in 1984 and the CanAm than had white plastics . And I think Armstrong continued producing a four stroke for a few years with that same engine. And I think total production stopped in 1988 due to lack of sales from what I understand the Armstrong/ CanAm was just to heavy of a motorcycle compared to the competition.
You walked right passed the nice? red tank Husqvarna. Too bad. It's a shame there are no 80's KTM bikes at that show. Kind of strange since I own 10 of them. After the 1982 Can Am Sonic came the 1983 KTM 504 with a nice Rotax engine. (Cases branded KTM) Then the Armstrong later. Oh well. There's always next year. Maybe some KTM's then. The Pentons were nice.
Dave... It seems you were a bit curfuffled by that Can-Am, believe me this is mostly a stock Can-Am Sonic sold to the public back when they were produced. I had the opportunity to buy one used 30 plus years ago. At the 50th anniversary of Can - Am at Gopher Dunes Ontario in 2023 all of the ex bikes were there including a number of Sonics as well as the man behind the marque Jeff Smith and ex factory riders Gary Jones Jimmy Ellis, Gary Semics as well as factory race bikes and much more. The Sonics are rear, many of the 4 strokes were ripped out of the sonic frames and slapped into flat trackers the frames then cast to the wayside, shame. Regards like your youtube. Chiz
Thanks for the videos Dave, great escape from the winter depression.

Looks like a senior citizens event,
Many of us dreamed about these bikes when we were kids.
Love that Penton 250.
It's good to reminisce. You make me think of my youth. I'm 68 and still ride as yourself. Thank you
The number of concours quality museum pieces in the bike show is incredible.
Dave, you're the best at what you do. Keep it up. Maybe someday you can present a Hercules W2000 for all to drool over. 😎
I'm gonna get back on that, but some of my earliest videos show and ride them too
Another great set of videos! It's 10 degrees at my house and colder in my work area. Thank you!

Dave that was a really good look at the show bikes ! I had to pause on the RL250 .
Love the 3 amigos, the headlight bucket on the impala would have had a black crinkle paint on it originally. Mine will be at the Dania beach show. 😊

Bomb-Ba-Deer..............Bomb-Bar-De-A. What's the proper pronunciation? I personally, believe the French sounding term to be correct.
Probably. I think I agree with you. but I'm not French, we all got our accents now. Prolly too old to change now Lol.
It's sad that the average age of people at these shows is about 10 years after social security kicked in.
