      I've been in touch with a financial analyst ever since I started investing. Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in trending stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over $900k in a little over a year, my adviser chooses entry and exit orders

    As an investing enthusiast, I've kept aside a good sum of capital to invest for financial independence and early retirement, but my concern right now is the market rally being propaganda. Is this a good time to buy stocks, or do I wait for the crash?

    Great video! I followed along to build this spreadsheet. One thing I noticed was the query for the “Individual Performance Screener”. Selecting tickers such as “T” would match several lines in the Portfolio tab, so I changed the queries from “Select I where B contains ‘“ to “Select I where B = ‘“

      Thanks so much for your comment! Glad you liked it. Great, that's an alternative syntax that works well. Usually there's only one ticker in the Portfolio tab list so it's strange that it was showing two. Let me know if you need any further help! Cheers

    I really love this tracker bro, its totally amazing. Im currently building my own portofolio tracker and your video helped me so much! But i found something that incorrectly, i use the same formula as yours but the Account Balance is not correct, when i do some 'Sell' or 'Withdraw', the 'Fees' is still counted as Cash, it doesnt substract on the Account Balance. I still figure it out til right now and its totally shaking my head. How do i solve it?

    Hello, in the transaction tab, for the transfer send and transfer deposit, i don't understand the results on the rolling cost control-rolling quantity. For example, row 22 the quantity send is 0.0941, but on the rolling quantity is 0.1231 that is the same as the quantity row 15. Is it not supposed to be 0.1231-0.0941=0.029 ? Thank you.

    Thank you for all your hard work. I have a problem I was hoping you could help with... When I apply your formula in the Rolling Cost Cell, P3, it returns Err:539. I have checked the formula several times to see if I incorrectly pasted from your formula sheet as well as pausing the video to and enlarging it to check that as well. I can't find any errors. I am wondering if it is because I am using LibreCalc and the formulas aren't compatable? If so, do you know the replacement string(s) I should be using? Thank you in advanced. This is an amazing piece of work, thanks so much for sharing!
    Just one comment on the currency conversion: in Transactions tab, Currency Conversion, Total (column S) I noticed the calculated exchange rate it's the current rate, where in my opinion it should be the exchange rate at the date of the equity purchase, since this cost has already happened. With the current volatility of the EUR/GBP/USD exchange rates this is now making a huge difference, if I compare the unrealised P/L against my broker's.
    Additionally, to many brokers the fees charged are in the account currency, e.g. if I have a EUR account with my broker they charge me the fees in EUR despite I may have both a stock in USD, so in this case we shouldn't have the fees conversion, but that's quite irrelevant in the end, just wanted to bring to discussion.

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you access it through Patreon all you have to do is make a copy into your private account, delete the dummy transactions and start entering your own. As long as you follow the correct sequence in the transactions (e.g. Cash deposit before buy orders, transfer send before transfer deposit, cash dividends vs DRIP method) you'll be fine. I have jumped into several calls with clients who need help setting it up. But when you access it from Patreon it is pretty straight forward. Besides transactions, the rest is all about playing with the different filters and dropdowns to look at info in different views or periods. Let me know how you go and feel free to email me! Cheers, PF

I have noticed a number of people commenting on other sites about price feeds not working. I would need price feeds from a substantial range of crypto. I have noticed there is now a gen3 but not keen on giving the permission that is required plus I like the option to build it as I learn. • @PlanetFinanceOfficial

      Hey! It shows sold all when the net amount of quantity = 0. When it's sold all, daily change and cost columns are blank because you cost = quantity * avg purchase price. When quantity = 0, this doesn't show up. Hope this helps and I'm aiming to improve this feature in the next portfolio tracker.

    I love this tracker. Very impressive work. I see people already have mentioned that conversion rate should be calcuated on purchase date and again on sell date, and that additional buying and selling from a position should affect the avg price. Also it would be gret to have the option to see both position and total development both last 365, YTD and over all. And be able to compare gains to a index or activa. However the formulas doesn't work and I get an error messages even though everything is set up exactely like you set it up and copy the formulas from your formula sheet. Also, I trade mostly on OSE (Norway) and Google finance doesen't cover that. Yahoo finance does though. How can I add a rollback option to fetch data from Yahoo finance, and where do I do it? • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for your comment. In the next version I've already fixed the issue with currency conversions where it's grabbing the date to get the exchange rate of the particular date in the transaction. If bought in one currency and then sold in another one, the only option available for this is a stock transfer from one platform in e.g. usd and another one in e.g. eur. I can definitely add a section for currency fluctuation p/l but I'm not sure how it could work for selling in multiple currencies as every buy is always assumed to be sold in the same currency. This could be potentially solved through an action where currencies are converted for withdrawal purposes. I'll brainstorm a way to solve this.

    This is the spreadsheet I've been looking for years for - able to aggregate all my brokerage accounts in one sheet! I think I've found an issue with it though. The Rolling Cost Controls section does not seem to handle DRIP transactions correctly. A DRIP is a purchase of additional shares with dividends, but the Rolling Cost Controls section does not update the Rolling Quantity or Rolling Cost columns when using DRIP as an Action. It DOES seem to flow correctly to the Portfolio "Quantity" column. Can you update this formulae please?

    I have a question regarding this tracker. I've followed along and made the tracker from scratch and I've recently sold a position in a stock however the stock still comes up in the first two charts even though I own 0 shares of it. The stock also appears in the best/worst performer section which is annoying as I want to see the data on the stocks I actually own. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this issue?

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a way to fix this issue and it's with a ROUND formula. It's a problem with GSheets that even though you bought an amount and sold the exact amount, the decimal places still show numbers. Give it a try or feel free to share you spreadsheet with me! Cheers, PF

    In order to edit the color of a sparkline, it appears the color code needs to be in the formula. Is there a way to add something like that to the formula for the Rolling Quantity column in the Transactions tab? So if the cell is blank, then it gets filled with a color?

    Hi! What not to use any special app for that?

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are special apps for this and anyone can use them. However, there's value in having your own customisable tracker in a private sheet that doesn't sell your data to other companies like most apps do. Unless I'm wrong, Google doesn't read your private sheet content and uses this data for their gain... Also, these trackers are generally built for anyone in the world to use. Most apps either have specific brokerages/banks attached to them to track budget/investments and might not include assets from many of the existing exchanges.

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Diego, thanks for your comment! The order at which the months are shown is dependant on the order of your transactions. If you enter a dividend in June 2022 but thereafter a dividend in May 2022, the dividend in June will show first and then the one in May, following the sequence of your transactions. I recommend you enter your transactions in order by date.
      If this is a problem, I appreciate your feedback and I will come up with a table/chart that just displays all the months regardless of the order of the transactions. I'll include this in the upcoming 3g portfolio tracker!
