So what is PARA BELLUM? It's a passion project from Me, Red Hawk and Midgeman where we host competitve EU4 challenges. Season Two starts 15th January, so DO NOT MISS IT! If you don't mind checking it out, here's where we'll be streaming: www.youtube.com/@ParaBellumCreative (we'll also be live on Twitch). Season 1 was AMAZING, so let's see if anyone can dethrone FlorryWorry in Season Two! Thanks Chaps!
@spodefollower no pretty much all modifiers in this game have either a cap or scale exponentially which in this case means they can get close to taking 0 but never 0.
Or the insinuation is that Hawk doesn't notice his real world settings too closely as he's all focusing on trade or claims or the HRE or some mod or... 😂🤣😂
The Guru meditation event is probably based on the old Commodore Amiga Guru Meditation error that appeared when the computer crashed. Kinda fitting that it loses you 1 stab.
Fun Fact: The Nepali skill in combat is indeed legendary. To this day, Gorkha soldiers are as famous for their lethality, as their long, curved daggers called "khukuri". This was true during the days of the British Empire, which gave special favor to their Gorkha regiments within their Indian divisions, and designated the Nepali people a "Martial Race". A similar racial stereotyping also existed in the French colonial empire, with the Tunisian people designated as "petits algeriens", and were primarily given janitorial roles in the imperial administration.
Gurkhas are overrated honestly..... The only reason they are glorified to high heavens is because they loyally served as coolies to the brits as opposed to other indian races. Also they remained one of the few loyal regiments during the 1857 sepoy mutiny.
Fun fact, the ruling house of the Gorkha kingdom (which later became the Kingdom of Nepal) traced their lineage to the Sisodiya clan of Mewar which was a cadet branch of the Guhila dynasty which itself traced its origin to the Maitraka dynasty whose members were generals of the Gupta Empire. The Maitrakas became the military governors of northern Gujarat which was liberated from the rule of the powerful Shakas by the mighty Chandragupta Vikramaditya in a multi year campaign. After the Guptas collapsed, the Maitrakas declared their own independent sovereignty.
28:14 Hmm, I'm not a hater or anything, but how exactly did you go from september to october back to september (all 1488) but different army placements (yours and orissas, for instance: no battle in the second scenario)? Nepalese timetravel?
It's safe to so say Laith "cheats" sometimes. You could call this cheesing too, I leave that to whomever to decide. If you watch very, very closely, you will see similar details in earlier videos. The biggest indicator of him cheating was when he used the 'ti' console command in a so called "ironman" game. The funny part was that he himself was oblivious to it. What happened: If you use the 'ti' command, the entire map and all provinces are revealed. You can then see where on the map forts are if you zoom in. If you make the map invisble again on the same zoom level, nothing will change and no one will notice you cheated. However! If you zoom out after being zoomed in and then enable ti again, the fort icons will NOT dissapear becasue the game thinks you can still see them. So, it was pretty funny to watch him adress this when he said "I have no idea why I can see these icons on the map" (It's because you cheated, Laith).
Nepal is one of the most fun nations in the game because, as you can see, they have very good military but they're in a constant struggle to outscale everyone around them so there's rarely any peaceful and stable times. In my games as Nepal the biggest struggle is the economy, there's just not all that much you can do to make it better so you gotta min-max it. I would say, though, that defensive ideas as an opener are goated for Nepal. Instant +15% morale, most of your country is mountains to defending is really easy, attrition is always great, just really good idea group to put you in the driver seat. I've gotten better since the last time I played as them, but I had like 3 really good campaigns with them; in one I was so strong the became boring, and in another one I decided to make my life harder and go against Ming making me their tributary AND make a coalition against myself. I'm happy to report I won that war but I ruined my economy, and also the war would have been over SO MUCH FASTER was it not for the fact that I got declared on by Moghulistan who was THE ONLY country on medium war enthusiasm, and it was impossible to send enough troops to take his capital while defending the forts at home. I basically had to keep occupying 1/6 of Asia proper to end that war...
If you wish for a ruler to live do not make them a general, they get both the ruler chance for death and the general chance for death plus the general chance for death in combat where if that chance hits and he dies you lose 2 stability. Relying on the estate generals will be less taxing on your stability economy while being effectively as free.
Day 362 of asking for an Oranje Free State Playthrough of Vicky 3. Just three more videos and it'll be a year. You did promise to do it after I got to a year...
It’s not even a hard challenge, the Boer republics have everything they need available to them (except for sulphur) and on top of that they get massive gold reserves.
I feel personally attacked as one of the people who personally attacked you about unrestricted idea groups in ironman 😂 Thanks for clarifying. I'll never understand some of the ironman/achievements rules of Pdx. You can switch restricted idea groups off, but you can't switch bullcrap lucky nations off. In Imperator you can get achievements on ironman with mods, but you can't get them without ironman. Because we all know that downloading all kinds of cheats isn't as bad as reloading a save game 😅
@YurikaNijino I know, but for me it's strange that you can download mods that would boost your military or economy to be invincible and Paradox says it's ok for achievements, while they have a problem with reloading and still don't allow achievements without ironman (which is even more redundant since everyone alt+f4 anyway, it's just less convienient). I like the case of Victoria 3, where ironman and egibility for achievements are two separate things. So you can earn achievements without ironman, but not if you use console, for example.
Nation that is long overdue for a Mission Tree and should get one before Eu4 sunsets this year or next year. Only Mewar can challenge Nepal in the region
you could do a 3 youtuber playthru where one plays prussia, one zulus and one gorkhas.. see which one wins... you might need to change something so that the person can form zulus earlier like chang eit to tech 10.. so its fair?
does anyone know why all my colonies hate me saying "converted our culture" when it states their primary culture is MY CULTURE? i did take some provinces from spain england and portugal and then converted those to mine, but all my colonies state they are my culture.. yet i have like -170 negative modifier and all colonies say i converted their culture.. even though when i go to the subjects screen & go to enforce culture it states also SAME CULTURE
Cause the US is the only nation exclusively using M/D/Y, and only Philipines, Canada and Kenya use it among others, the rest of the world (including Canada, Kenya and the Philipines) uses either D/M/Y or Y/M/D (I might have missed some nations using the weird Format to but my Point should be clear, M/D/Y is used by like 400m people max, thats like 5% of the worlds population or does my tired brain fail me? Got to love the theological knowledge on this thread.
The livonian order can theoretically get 205% discipline though 160% is the most you're realistically gonna get
How ?
Would 200% or more discipline mean that your troops literally can’t die? And you’d take 0 losses in every battle since they’re taking -100% damage?
yeah how
