- In today's Customs and Restorations video with Vick Almighty; he takes on a pair of Fire Red Jordan 4s. Iconic OG colorway and an even better silhouette, but they were not looking to "fire."
2020 was the year we all remember, but how could a 2020 sneaker be this beat?! The answer you never know what you might find on eBay. We picked up this sneaker for a cleaning video and quickly released it needed much more than a quick clean. That's when you turn to Vick to work his magic on these 4s.
After a deep clean and a trip to the washing machine. Vick found that the paint had come off and the sneaker would need a total repaint and a whole lot more to get it back to its "fire" state. After the Vick Almighty touch, I'd say these are looking pretty dang good.

I really love my fire reds! They go with everything and I proudly wear them for over 2 years now, one of my most worn shoes and somehow I still get compliments because they are in such good condition! 🤣
They were the first and the last pair of shoes I paid resale for and are my first and last pair of 4's to this point!

These were the ones that made me get back into Jordan 4s. I couldn’t afford the originals in 89 but in 7th grade i saw an 8th grader with them and loved how they looked.
Nice, Vic. No need for sole sauce on the netting. Just UV light, but you won’t see results for days.

I don't know much about sneakers, nothing actually, but the method to unyellow plastic is a bath of oxygenated water in combination with uv lights for several hours. Plastics usually become white after that treatment.
You might wanna consider that in your next restorations perhaps it'll work onto shoes as well (dunno the effect on colored portions tho). Perhaps try this method with cheap sneakers.
We will have to try it out and see what happens maybe!

it's just to use a pick or something so the netting is away from the mesh to paint. i've done it before just so much better.

Because cleaning shoes and restoring them properly is not easy and takes time and know how on how to do it right. The cleaning part will only get you so far.

I have a question, I wanna do a deep clean up of my doernbecher jordan 5 and I'm just wondering if I can use the icy method to icy the lace locks and outsole (glow in the dark) area ? Also if the iron works out to decrease the toe box ? Any advice would be any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hows the longevity of a repainted shoe, as the leather flexes with wearing, does it chip and flake easily? I

Just curious what kind of shelf life to expect on a reshoevn8ted shoe. Is the cost and time gonna be worth while? Or are they gonna look beat up after a few weeks of wear.
Honestly, it would completely depend on how the shoes are used. We suggest light wear for the repaired and restored shoes. However, we do not provide restoration services at the moment.

That is the best way to fix the yellowing on the mesh.

@@RESHOEVN8R , hers look really nasty, a lot of heel drag, the midsole paint cracks on certain places, there is already a bit of sole seperation, the sock liner has holes, they are dirty as hell and have pretty deep scuffs... especially on the toebox...
She is wearing them all the time but doesn't take any care of them...🙃

I doubt I’ll get a response I’m debating on getting some metallic red 4s everything’s good but the mesh yellow ash, is it possible to dye it back to white ? To avoid painting it
No dye will work on it since it’s a plastic. Either love with the yellowing or maybe some sauce it but always best results are to repaint it

Flat white and yes krylon matte finish
Vick, is there ever any significant reason for choosing between hand method and airbrush when you repaint midsoles?
e.g. longevity, brush strokes, time etc.
It is really just based on time or how precise he has to be. Also, the surface area; if it is a bigger area he normally uses an airbrush
There are pros and cons to both methods look it up online. Then you can choose your own path.
