Thanks for your time posting this; always nice to see any Dynaco set get some love. Growing up, these weren't as popular as the silver face titans everyone wanted, but every set I listened to and have heard in recent times sound great. If you walked into a room blind, you usually couldn't tell the difference until you wanted those extreme volume levels (to be young again!) Looking forward to the power amp video!

Glad you enjoyed the video. It's back on the bench for a little more TLC (things I've noticed playing around with it)...so another part should be coming soon.

I LOVE This Preamp, and the Dynaco components in general !!!
I have become a collector of vintage Hi-Fi gear, and one of my observations has been that Dynaco components tend to function more frequently, more fully, and seem much more repairable than any other units.
Plus, they have the world's greatest instruction/owners manuals !
      Very pleased with Dynaco.

Just got a Pat-4 today, nothing strange on the variac, but when I plugged it in, could not hear anything. Notice the thermistor is cooked and the pilot light does not come on. Thanks for this series, hopefully this could resolve my issue. If not I may need to send it your way, lol.

Good luck. Once updatemydynaco is back online, you can source parts for it.

I put my PAT-4 away years ago. I still use my Dynaco ST-120 every day, but my PAT-4, had what Dynaco referred to as "DynaTone" pots, for the bass and treble. I hated them. The tone was, more or less, all off... flat... and full on. I found that to be really annoying, so I shelved it. I've thought about trying different pots to replace those, but have not done it yet.
