Prof. Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak (UCLA) talks about Persian poetry and how it has evolved, highlighting specific phases, followed by a discussion with Narguess Farzad (SOAS).
Mutashakiram to Prof. Ahmed and Mdm Narguess for this talk. A few things that resonated with me include; How there are more poets in Farsi/ Urdu. Its important to note that poetry is still part of daily conversation in Iran/ Pakistan/ India but this never happens in the English speaking world. Also i would love to hear Prof. Ahmed’s thoughts on the influence that farsi has had on the sub- continent where it was a court language for hundreds of years.
