    Everyone, I give you the 500th episode of the Inflight Series! That’s right, I now have 500 full flights for you to comb through! Enjoy this short hop from GEG-SEA!

      Wow. 500 flights...and counting. Well, you've certainly got me beat...lol. Have you kept track of how much money you've spent on all those flights? I'm not expecting you to reveal the amount or anything...I'm just curious.

    • @stormyaviation5734

      That’s amazing! I haven’t been on 500 flights in my lifetime.

      @@turbofanlover Thanks my friend! I do keep track of how much I've spent. See, even though I basically do this for fun, I do bring in money from the ads and Patreon. And although "brining in" and "making" money are two very different things, the IRS still expects me to report the money earned every year. Basically, I have to show the IRS every year that I'm losing money so they don't tax me haha. So, I keep very detailed records for every dollar I spend on the channel. And it's A LOT haha. Let's just leave it at that hahahaha.

      @sla31  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benwatso 500 is just what you’ve seen on the channel. I actually have closer to 700 total since 2010. Either way, it’s A LOT of money haha. Let’s just leave it there 😂.

    Wow... great views of Eastern and Central Washington and the Cascades!!
    This whole area was the result of massive floods from Glacial Lake Missoula in Western Montana. Dr. Harlen Bretz was the geologist who proposed the Spokane flood theory and met enormous and furious resistance from his peers for his outlandish theory. He was discredited and so was his work. No one believed that such colossal, dramatic changes could occur so rapidly.
    But Dr. Bretz stuck to his guns, fought long and hard against the highly static resistance in the field of geology and against his colleagues to prove his theories.
    Good views of the Columbia River. The Columbia is the lifeblood of the Northwest and it begins at Columbia Lake in the Columbia Valley up in BC. The water ultimately comes from the mountains of Kootenay National Park.
    Good views of the Lake Chelan area. This lake is 1500 feet deep, making it deeper than any of the Great Lakes.
    Also, good views of Glacier Peak. Yes, that is a bona fide volcano and yes, scientists are monitoring it very closely.

      @@sla31 Back during the Ice Age, the glaciers formed a huge ice dam in Western Montana, creating Glacial Lake Missoula. The water eventually caused the ice dam to break and the water in Glacial Lake Missoula rush out, creating a Biblical type flood and emptying into the Pacific Ocean. This was one of the greatest floods known to science.
      It took decades for geologists to accept that such massive changes can happen at an instant.
      This reminds me of asteroids and comets hitting the earth, changing everything in a blink of an eye. This also is the scientific basis for the Chicken Little story and humankind's fear of comets. The truth is, sometimes death really did fall from the sky and if a comet - or a piece of it - hit the earth, it created huge changes, leading to global cooling, food shortages, crop failures, disease, and war. It wasn't primitive superstition.

    Congrats on your 500th, but was there a reason why the plane had to be towed to the gate.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The plane had flown in the night before. I assume Alaska just has more overnights at GEG than they have actual gate space for. Once the flight before us left, this aircraft was towed in from a remote stand.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most tugs are geared in a way that they can push or pull aircraft, so they can be maneuvered however the ground crew needs. It is more unusual though to see them pulling aircraft. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Do you fly for the sole purpose of recording these videos?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time, yes. Uploading three full flights per week requires a lot of flying, and considering I get all of the footage you see by myself, on my days off from my regular job, it leaves little time to do anything else between flights.
