There are alot of minority religions in the world and most people only hear about the most popularly followed religions and don't even know what other religions and weird practices exist. Similarly ashari and mutaradi are in extremely low in population of followers, hence most Muslims only know about popularly followed sects. and most commonly followed schools of thoughts. They only know about less popular ones when they come across their followers. Do you know or can state all 72 sects.? No. Why? Because you'll only know about, those, whom you're exposed to. Even every scholar can't know of all those, because of lack of exposure. And when a person is exposed to a deviance from Quran and sunnah, it's duty of the scholars to address the deviance And especially when they're asked about it.
What the majority of the scholars of the subcontinent say is that the pure Athari creed of imam Ahmad (RH) was changed/misinterpreted by Salafi scholars like Ibn Tamiyyah. Imam Ahmad (RH) said to negate the literal and metaphorical meaning of such verses that Allah (SWT) is above the throne or that he has hands, feet a shin etc. Once you do that the Ashari and Mutharidi creeds are very similar and only have minor differences. The majority of the scholars of the subcontinent say the pure Athari, Ashari and Mutharidi creeds are all correct.
what about the ottoman and the conquest of istanbul prophet s.a.v. What a great commander, the commander who conquered istanbul, what a great soldier he was, and this hadith is authentic. Abu Eyüp al Ansari came to conquer Istanbul despite his advanced age because of this hadith.
But what about Salahuddin ayubi? In my little knowledge what I've find that he was ashari. Not only he is ashari but he also promoted ashari. Is he among deviant group? Mind it that he is the one our prophet saw prophesied about that he will conquer al aqsa. So what is salafi gonna say now that al aqsa is conquered by a man of bida?
Someone who has bidah can do a lot khair, some of the daalim leaders spread islam in Islamic empires. We are correcting according to Qur'an and authentic sunnah, please leave personalities, may Allah accept their good deeds and forgive their errors

Allah SWT mentions in the Holy Qur'an, "And hold firmly to the rope1 of Allāh all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allāh upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allāh make clear to you His verses that you may be guided." (3:103) Now divisions here mean every division may it be in worldly matters or religious. We all are Muslims, there is nothing besides it and nothing should be there to cause deviation. We have all the instructions we need through the Holy Qur'an and the explanations of it as Ahadith books. Allah SWT knows best. All praise is due to Allah SWT

90% are ashari and maturidi. You can't conflate sufi with ashari. Creed and Tariqa is not the same

Umar RA conquered Aqsa hundreds years before him, so.......
It's confusing. Salahuddin prevented people from seeking blessings from the al aqsa rock (shirk) however he also raised the graves of prophets.
I don't follow the aqidah of Wahhabiyah najdiyah the khalaf generation.

Ibn Hajar Asqalani(r.h) was an Ashari scholar, there's no doubt about it.

The aqidah is rubbubiyyah , uloohiyya , asma wa sifatt . Ones ofvAllah swt in his lordship , worship , names and attributes .
