Huge tip for the throwing duplication glitch! When jumping off the ledge let yourself fall a good distance before the first time you hold up on the Dpad. This will make it work 100% of the time. I struggled with the glitch for a long time because I would hold up on the dpad right away when jumping off a ledge but allowing yourself to drop for a good second fixes any problem you might have.
I'm on 1.1.1 and the fact that we won't be having a DLC any soon is reassuring because I was a little worried to have to restart a new file but without the best glitch of them all
For 1.2.1 people there’s an easier method if you have mineru. Summon mineru and climb on her back. Then dismiss her in the pause menu and then watch a memory. Skip the memory and swap over the the inventory without unpausing (just press plus after pressing minus to view the memory) Then hold four of the item you want to duplicate (you can only have four of them in your inventory at a time) Swap back to a memory (again without unpausing) and skip the memory. Then just press B Open the quick inventory and throw the items out on the ground (use recall on exploding items) and then go into your item inventory to hold a random fifth item. Then drop all of what’s in your hand and boom you’ve duplicated your items

I always used the shield jump dupe before I accidentally updated, worked every time for me once I got it down. I miss it a lot, so I'm glad I found this
What did for the MTD glitch in 1.2.1 was use some boards to make a height that was big enough and aim to let go of R as i reached the middle and spammed Up before tapping X. It ...sorta helps, its just that my stick has the trouble of staying at the item im trying to dupe
Something I was struggling with was duplicating volatile components that explode on impact (elemental dragon parts do this, but not the light dragon parts). If you aim high and use recall after the throw, you can recall the item so that it comes back to you and you can pick up both items.
You can still do it, you just have to make sure to do the glitch like this: Do not open the menu the first time until link is already falling. Wait till he’s about waist height with the ground he jumped from to get it with near perfect consistency. After you let go of d-pad up, you only have to open the menu one more time to do the drop and throw dupe, just make sure that after you press x to drop that link hits the ground before he finishes the throw, otherwise it won’t work. Best place to practice is the lookout landing wall, it’s a pretty good height for working with this and allowing for delayed key presses without too much error.
1.2.1 instructions didn’t explain to also hit X to drop the item… it should be 5 steps, not 4, I think? It took me forever to notice the red arrow pointing at the X button. I was struggling for nearly an hour and then finally got it to work when I started adding the X at the end!
You can do the midair throw duplication while facing forwards. This makes it possible to dupe fragile things like gleeok horns, bombs, gibdo bones, etc by recalling the thrown item before it lands.

Still on 1.1.1 and just finished duping 999 on all 5 types of Dragon material. I love the Y+B glitch but man it tiresome. Thank goodness I use Minvera to dupe as it’s one less thing to worry about. Also no DLC makes me glad not to update. Though the update dropped to 1.1.2 while I was playing TOTK and had auto-update so I don’t know if my Switch downloaded and kinda not looking forward to closing the game to find out until I do the dupes I want.
Yea that's because they patch all the fun stuff and don't patch actual annoying stuff. The dupe Glitches are optional and don't hinder gameplay but glitches like the one with the Master Sword loosing the extra durability frome fuse Items is not optional and annoying.

The jump duplication glitch still works in 1.2.1 as of 25th January 2024. Just make sure you jump off a place high enough (the horse stable worked for me). If your jump is not high enough, it will always say something like "you can't drop that here". I think the clip shown at 7:12 is old and does not work anymore.
😅 I can't believe I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm still on 1.1.2 but haven't done any duplication. I still haven't uncovered all the map. I run iff somewhere to get items or a small quest then get distracted by a dungeon. It's been fun, but I put it down a. Few weeks ago... I hope there becomes a way to duplicate ruby’s or something like that because now the one that you throw just explodes and then you still have one ruby in stead of two 😢
Apparently you can roll it back without losing data, but I’d find a way to back up your data in a separate device first because it runs risk of corruption for all account data.

The best place to do this is off the lookout landing wall, it’s high enough up to account for delayed key presses so it’s “practice friendly” but not so much that it will make you mess up the timing on links landing too much.

Took me a while but you eventually found the wlsweet spot. Also a commenter said in V1.2.1 you don't need to jump backwards. Jumping forward helped me out a ton.
I second this. I love the item duplication, but the weapon dup and stats transfer in BOTW was amazing. Especially when I could use wall fixtures in Link's house to hold onto a fresh version of each one to go back in dup again later anytime my weapons did run low
Can someone explain how the 1.2.0 Zonai glitch works? I see what he's doing, but he said he put 30 diamond in and got 30 back. How is that duplication?? Or is it "duplication" because he was able to get 30 diamond worth of Zonai devices for free? I'm confused
The Dispenser storage gltch does not work. I lost several diamonds. What do you mean by "rotate the fans towards you twice"? I moved the fans in and out the dispener,used the time back, and still no duplication.
Forever sad I found out the hard way my auto update was turned on. And since it's a digital copy there is no way for me to reset to 1.1.1. (At least not that I know off.)

hey for the 1.2.0 monster items you can throw the item in the air and recall it (very useful for dragon parts)

It's not duplication, it just bypasses the 21 item limit by having them in the dispenser instead of on the ground.

There actually is a way to dupe weapons shields and bows in 1.2.0, it involves like likes and some other stuff

So you do the throw thing 20 times then pump in 20 items to get 20 items like it just gives you exactly what you put in
