I wish I had one way to teach how to setup, but the setup and swing needs to work together effectively to assist golfers. Amateurs however need to not forward press , and learn about correct ball relationship with the tilting during swing.
This has certain similarities to Champ but I like Champ's swing much better because he balances ,hip turn and shoulder tilt on both sides of the swing much better. Tilting description is exaggerated because he doesn not turn his hips that much in the backswing and leaves them a little bit on the flat sidie at the top and then he is firing the trail hip and SHOULDER forward and down as the hips move quite a bit towards the target so a lot of the appearance of tilt is the trail side being driven out toward the ball and down as the lead side starts to clear hard and lead shoulder starts to lift. In order to release through the ball squarely, he has to stall the hips somewhat through impact something which Champ does not do much at all. So Dalton really just turns kind of flat with a big shoulder to hip rotation (which is impressive) and then fires the trail side out and down while progressing his weight forward and around quickly which greatly illustrates how important such things are for power in the golf swing. Long hitters have to move their weight towards the target and simultaneously coordinate moving force around the body. This is accomplished with accurate and dynamic foot pressure shifts as much as anything which is greatly underemphasized in golf instruction. Look at any world class hammer thrower or even shotputter and it will become immediately evident how important this is. Dalton also in this regard rapidly fires the trail knee in and across his body as the clearing of his hips is happening this is how he maintains rotational pressure on the core muscles in order to continue to accelerate the club around his body which is vitally important for accurate power transmitted to the club shaft. This swing could be summarized as huge torque on the waist to the top and then a high speed crunch (kind of like swinging an axe or sledgehammer down hard) with very accurate and quick foot pressure shifts and good overall proprioception of how to square the club using such a move. I would call it first a testament to athleticism, then coordination (related), and lastly technique, but one's technique must match up to in order to get good golf shoots consistently. It does not require as much flexibility as it might appear (although a lot, no doubt) but it does require the entire core area to be able to adapt very quickly through the hit which requires both strength and speed in that region. Cheers.
Don't forget this Sunday at 8:00PM PST send me your videos so I can help you for FREE on the cause and effect of your golf swing!
Cool analysis and that rotate of his setup a light bulb clicked for me!
Thanks for watching this way! Glad it could help
Ok pal, since it’s all about setup, teach us how to set it up. Plus how to aim to target properly ;)
The screenshot tilt was nice.
