I enjoy trying different metal detectors to keep things fresh and test how each works while learning their strengths and weaknesses along the way. I been thinking about getting a Simplex. For the price, I don't think they can be beat with all the features and added depth one gets. Great finds. Enjoyed watching and enjoyed going along on your motorbike. Great entertainment.

I have the Simplex. I am happy with it. Only been detecting for about 8 months but have learned all the sounds and have gotten some good finds. Found an old hatchet about 2 ft deep that dated back to about 1780s or so. Cleaned up well in some white vinegar. A lot of coin and a lot of junk too. The ground balance feature helps a lot and I use it every time I turn it on or move to different soil. I am in New Jersey. No matter where I use the Simplex, Park 2 mode works great even on the beach. Just set the ground balance correctly.

You should go for it! It took me a while to finally decide to start but it is really fun, no need to put pressure just bring a camera along and let it flow natural! Simplex is a great little machine & I appreciate it!

Nice hunt! I have not bought one yet but metal detecting is on my list of tools to add.
Next time you hunt a park, try field mode! Max it out and it will skip over a lot of the tiny iron and zoom in on everything non-ferrous. Enjoyed watching , thanks for the video!

Own a simplex 4 days. went 5 times its great and I switch between 440 /540 vanquish just mostly clad and pop tabs but very excited dig sumthin good 👍

PM 1 in the parks and even on the beach in the dry areas.
Turn the volume to low - and then no one will hear you unless they are close up. That way you can keep going without disturbing others.
Yep, I enjoy the moment - the unexpected and the thrill of the find! I sometimes show the live dig - holding the phone and searching with the pin-pointer to uncover the target... works well in dry beach conditions!

I have a local park that I go to often. I've found 3 wheat pennies that were all nearly surface finds on 3 separate hunts.
Got a Simplex a couple of years ago and haven't been out much but I did find a gold wedding ring the first time I used it, and went to Missouri to my son's property a couple of weeks ago and found some wheat pennies and a trade token from the 1920's.
Simplex user here. Love the tot lots. Found gold and silver and even a buried skateboard

My favorite places to hunt are very old sites. And what really gets me enthused is doing the research on the places I dig at. Happy hunting everyone!!!

I have 2 Simplexes, so I always have one charged, and I can have one with the SP28 and one with the SP24 coil. Being my first detectors, I don't know any better, and sometimes ignorance is bliss. Stay safe down there during this storm season, and keep digging.

I use park 1 all the time. It’s fast enough recovery and deep enough for harder targets. I will once in a while on targets that are just giving me faint signals turn it to field because it is a little deeper but also a little slower just to check if I can get a correct VDI on it.

I have a equinox 800 and bought the simplex as a backup and I almost enjoy the simplex more. It seems better built and stronger materials. Fields are planted in Ohio so right now I just do yards and parks. Enjoying the content similar to what I do
I also have an equinox and I still use the simplex very often! I agree with you about the materials, the simplex is built tough bottom line. For the price it's very hard to beat... I still prefer the equinox at saltwater beaches here in FL the simplex struggles with. I appreciate you stopping in, love hunting any ground I get the chance to. 👍

I use the simplex with the nel Superfly coil, it's awesome at the beach and in the fields in park 2,bullet looked like a 38special
I have a Simplex and haven't taken off my SP24 coil since I got it. I go to some trashy areas and use Park2 mostly.

I have the vanquish 440. I subscribed because of that. I'm not too interested in more testing but more hunts using the minelab and a suggestion, to improve the videos, quick snapshot of the cooler finds close up after added in would be nice. Either way I love the videos please keep going.
Good idea, I will have some more vanquish content coming soon I went out to the beach with it yesterday but unfortunately got stormed out. I am here in the path of the tropical storm so hopefully when it passes I'll be able to get back out. Thanks Jim!

Never swung a Simplex but not opposed to it...appears to be a good machine...My collection consists of a Minelab SDC 2300, Minelab Gold Monster 1000, Minelab Equinox 800, a Garrett AT Pro, a Garrett AT Max, a FIsher Gold Bug II, and a Whites MXT...all so much fun over the years....keep up the great vids!!! I like to watch when I'm not swinging or kayak fishing!!! Peace and Treasure!!!!

Nice video, I will be owning one the second my local shops opens Monday, I have seen too many videos of this powerhouse affordable detector. I see you are not running the stock coil, I assume it’s because a smaller coil is more accurate or more sensitive to a particular metal? school me if I’m wrong.

Nice videos, lots of coins and a beautiful ring, I also use simplex plus, but 95% of the time I use in the fields with a Detech 13 inch coil, for a deep targets. I like your electric bike, maybe you can write a link where I can see more about it. thank you
More Beach or yard permissions. I like the hunt and the surprise when I dig a target; it’s like opening a Christmas Present. I hunt mostly old rural homesite permissions, so almost everything I find is old. Don’t find many old coins, though. I guess people who lived on those old homesites didn’t have much money to lose. Keep digging, A!

I have a Simplex. There are several creeks I go to by the park as well as the park itself. Simplex is water proof.
What I love about detecting are the prospects.. I heard a veteran detecter say " the average is 500 pull tabs to a gold ring" ..I believe I am soon due a gold ring ..lol I

I love your videos I am new to the hobby....would like your opinion thinking about getting a minelab 340 or a garrett ace 300. I live in Minnesota so there is not any salt water beach detecting mostly park and historic sites...ty
I think you might be a little better off with the vanquish, I have a garrett ace 200 and have found some good stuff with it but I think the vanquish performs a bit better overall 👍 but it comes down to preference too, I say go with whatever machine you like!

Usually Park 1. Park 2 for trash/iron. Field for cleaner/open areas.
I own a simplex, first “adult” detector I got, I only have the stock coil at this time but definitely need to spend the money on the smaller coil. Smaller coil seems to be better go to. Trying to learn my numbers and my modes.
Smaller coil is great for learning & really useful in some scenarios. I have very trashy parks around me so I'm always enjoying the smaller coil. Good luck out there!
Depending upon the trashiness of the park, park1, but if its super trashy, park2, one bar from the top. Got me a 43 quarter on Friday in park1 with the stock coil at 8 inches. I've pounded that place to death with the sp24, and park2 hunting fast. So I changed my strategy, and it paid off. I learned to do that from paystreak.
Nice! Always good to switch it up now and again go for some deeper targets. Might be worth checking out at this park.. from what I could gather there isn't much history here but you never know until you scan the ground! I miss paystreak simplex videos but I also enjoy seeing how the all the different detectors work too
Question, what do you do with all of your loot? Do you sell it or somthing?
The simplex is good on the beach you just need to ground balance near the water then after you ground balance you put it to 00.00 and you can change it from beach mode to any other mode and it will work fine no chatter or very little try not to hit the ground when swinging .

I have never used the Quest but the Simplex and Vanquish are both great I think it comes down to preference. I personally think the vanquish takes the slight edge in performance, I think it goes a little deeper and works better on salt water beach... but the Simplex is completely waterproof, it has built in rechargeable battery with built in light and vibrate, multiple tone sets so it can be more versatile... I think Simplex is built to last longer, if some rain comes through you don't have to worry about running home. I think if I HAD to choose I would probably choose the simplex. 👍
I would use park 1 and perhaps field mode if it wasn't too trashy. I also have the Vanquish and it is my go to detector when not raining or near the water.
Yep definitely a shame about the vanquish I run off too when then the clouds get near but man does that thing perform well!
