I bought a mystery box from Walgreens and got a mickey mantle 68 topps playing card reprint
I pulled a stadium club pack from one, had a harper instavision /25
Passed on these very boxes today...

ha!!!!! i actually collect the one pack and some cards version of these. i love the random coalition and blast from the past moments. i put all of them in a binder sequentially to experience the randomness again. got a random vernalder topps rc from one inserted in the cards section. most of the time the packs are 88 donruss, but sometimes they have hits like panini golden age. pulled a john schneider auto. pretty awesome pull. i feel like if you respect the whimsical investment and random coalition of the product it pays off somehow. ha.
One of my local Walgreens stocks baseball cards pretty often, and I'm probably the only person buying their cards 😅I've been lucky enough to pull Bobby Witt and CJ Abrams SSPs from update hangers! Also pulled a Shohei SSP from a '22 Chrome blaster that I bought from the same Walgreens

I just pick up one of these cards today I'm not a baseball fanot much of a sport fans outside of wtestling, boxing and ufc but I enjoy collecting cards and finding the holograph, costume cards and the autograph ones these are fun to open

FWIW: the first Tuesday of each month Walgreens has and unadvertised 20% off anything in the store not already on sale for people 55 and older. So it was good to buy Bowman blasters there when they came out - every 5th blaster was free that way.

Over the summer, I pulled an auto of Jorge Soler out of that $5 pharmacy box!! I like them just because you get a little bit of everything mixed in and a pack inside.
I've opened a ton of both of those Walgreens boxes. Pulled a $100 Lindsay Wagner autograph out of a Panini golden age pack from the collector's age box. Otherwise, no other big pulls. There's also a football collectors edge which is even worse.
Oh yes. I like to buy those but I always get a stupid college pack from Notre Dame that is so freaking worthless. Oh and the other pack is the dreaded Pro Set.

The box with a single pack is criminal and merely is overcharged just for the shelf space it takes up in the retail store. Just buy 3 packs. What??
I bought one of these a few weeks ago. Got a mantle reprint and a short print in the pack. Eh it was ok. Not worth the 10 dollars.

I tried the only 2 in the store of those $10 boxes and in the 2nd box I pulled One-Touched 2018 Living Juan Soto Autographed RC! Pretty Pumped about that pull! That was over a year ago and the last 3 of those I have bought I pulled a Scott Leius autograph and 2 Paul Assenmacher autographs. Those were the best cards but nothing to write home about. Lol

I think that the MJ holding company packs are different packs in different states. Because I go to Walgreens every now and then to look for something and I always see those, and I usually puck one of them up and the only pack i've ever gotten from those are the 2020 Topps heritage

Unfortunately I have first hand knowledge about the quality behind MJ's latest batch. 5 boxes, 5 Heritage "H" packs.....not even 1 star to be found. Looking at all 45 "hobby boxed" cards, I honestly will get better out of two Topps dollar store packs. MJ Holding

Me and my friends bike up to Walgreens once a week to usually get a few series 2 fat packs, bowman value packs, and occasionally we catch a restock of update hangers!
i pulled an aaron judge rookie card out of a collector’s edge box with the ASG stamp. looks like those stamped cards appear often, like the ones at 8:52. still super pumped and considering getting it graded!

Those pharmacy boxes have fallen off. I remember like 2 or 3 years ago I would buy them quite a bit. I pulled three Tatis Jr. rookie cards from them. Now you can’t get anything it looks like.
they used to be fun. the last 5 or so I bought have all ended up in the trash.

I coupon and spend the extra walgreens bucks on the pharmacy boxes. Pulled an Evan Longoria patch /27 recently. best pharmacy box had a pack of 2013 panini golden age which had a bobby richardson auto and the box had another auto... 2 autos for 5 bucks.

I had a dream I created the perfect "junk wax" Amazon product. It was basically a "chase" product (with modern day pulls and some packs), but instead of a random assortment of garbage that would end up in the trash I put a straight run of 25-50 cards of a set inside. Buyers would chase the high end cards but also could try to collect sets as a consolation at the same time. Sets also having chases because the runs would be uninterrupted so you could get the best cards from those sets instead of them being intentionally removed, perhaps 89 Upper Deck.
I don’t get the whole mystery pack/box concept. They aren’t going to put more cards in these than what they will get back in what you pay, otherwise it’s a losing proposition.
The 4.99 boxes are decent. Those 9.99 ones are too much for what you get.
I totally lucked out a couple years ago with one of these Walgreens boxes that had a 1986 Sportflics pack and pulled the Robin Yount error card. Your brother has been chasing that card for years!

Earlier this year I pulled a 2020 Bowman Platinum Green Jeremy Pena Auto 42/99 out of a Collectors Edge box.
I’ve opened 2 of them mystery boxes both trash , coolest part was the mantle reprints other than that not worth the 10$ at all
They are so bad. I tried them 2 times and it’s worth nothing!
I’ve been finding Update hangers at my Walgreens. Been lucky so far. Get the pharmacy boxes every once in a while. Just to rip something. The football, I always get a college pack. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Jabs I just bought one of those baseball boxes and I hit the original Chipper Jones rookie card from a 1990 pack that was inside. The card looks so damn clean. Really Nice!!! But yeah your right because back in the days they would actually put some cards work saving!!! But nowadays - Walgreens won’t get a dollar out of me!!! That’s from 50 cent!!! Lol
I was in Florida last December and did actually buy 2 of the 5 dollar blue mystery pack boxes, I did pull an autograph card (of someone I've never heard of) and had a few cool cards some hall of famers, I know it's a bad product but for me (someone who is from England, and thus doesn't see many baseball products) I thought it was a cool enough product just to see all the different card designs over the years, like a real slice of Americana history and baseball.
Next time I'm fortunate enough to go to America I'm 100% going to find a hobby store though :)

Best card I have found in those 4.99 boxes was a Corey Seager flagship rookie card from 2016. I also found a 1996 Topps Ray Allen rookie in a basketball one. Nothing crazy.

The Mantle aren't inserts from Topps, I'm pretty sure they're from an online exclusive set. If I'm remembering right, the box had the 52 mantle image on it.
Yes, they are from 2021 Topps X Mickey Mantle. I have the entire set.
These are horrible. At least you can get hits if you play the 1:8 odds (1:4 for football). These are 10 times better that the Rite Aid version. Instead of Collector's Edge, they are just called Jumbo Boxes, and they are the worst! And absolutely avoid Gunslingers!!!
