I ship Alina and Nikolai and Alina and the darkling. They always wanted her to embrace who she is and her powers also they were never intimidated of her power while Mal always seemed uncomfortable with her powers. He wanted her to hide her powers from the entire world and never seemed to understand that it’s a huge part of who she is. Also Mal is just so dull in my opinion. They understood her decisions even when they didn’t agree while Mal never understood any of the decisions she made. Honestly her loss, Zoya and him make a wonderful couple. Zoya is just more interesting and knows a good thing when she sees it in this case it’s Nikolai. I love how she’s this kind of entitled sort of princess at first but then becomes a kind, ambitious, strong, strong willed, beautiful inside and outside person. She will make a wonderful queen.
The Darkling and Nikolai were great people in their field, and their couples with Alina significantly changed the fate of the country. Small does not stand out in any way, so there is no chemistry

During the first interactions they had in the show I thought that they had really good chemistry but I never thought the interactions would get that intense later in the show. I never shipped Alina with Mal. I loved Darklina but after watching this season I am convinced that Nikolina is just too good!

😭😭 The chemistry between them is so good it's cruel to know that they're not going to end up together. I get the show is trying to follow the books, but I really, really, really hope Nikolai and Alina end up together. That's my wishful thinking anyway. I really enjoyed the show so far, and the cast has been great, but I really don't think the guy that they cast for Mal's character is a good fit for the role, they have zero chemistry, it honestly felt like he was her brother to me. I get that they were supposed to find each other and all, because of destiny, because he was the firebird and was meant to find her to give her that power, but I think we need to let that relationship fizzle out now. #Nikalina ship all the way.!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Alina didn't lose her powers (I actually think she somehow absorbed the darkling's powers because in the books that happens) Keramzin wasn't destroyed and the approach to Mal and Alina's romance was entirely different, ending with them going their separate ways. And let's not forget the imminent return of the Darkling, the bee on Zoya's kefta made that clear. From there it is easy to adapt the plot of King of Scars to the reality of the series, because the books have already been diverged for a long time.

This might be a controversial opinion but I didn't like them together in the tv-series... LOVE Nikolai in the books but most of the scenes where Alina and Nikolai grew close in the books where not in the show and therefore I didn't felt the connection between them.

I completely agree with you, Nikolai in the book does have different vibes, much more a jester, and much connection with Alina. While here it’s seems quite rushed.
