Going first was better in OG Yugioh for 2 reasons. 1. You got to draw a card at the start of your turn going first. 2. You got to establish a board without worrying about cards like Trap Hole and Torrential Tribute.
If I ever got the chance to go back in time I'd give some give some random kid entering a 2001 tournament an ash blossom because I think it would be funny to sangan get ashed.
In OG Yu-Gi-Oh going first was best because you actually started with 6 cards regardless of going 1st or 2nd. Setting trap holes and sakuretsu armor with la jinn, 7 colored fish, Gemini elf 1st turn while wait for Jinzo Mobius or Summoned Skull on turn 2
I hope you guys stick with this up to the actual modern stuff, hopefully that will help you find new and fun strategies and decks you might have never even heard of, that will boost ur love for the more modern way of playing as well
Yes! I watch the other progression series from Cimo but I am all in on one featuring the three idiots. And set Sangan and pass is why going first is better.
This video was fire, especially with the Exodia end to the first duel. This really brings back memories to when duels were more simple. Keep up the fire videos Rhyme, can't wait for the next episode,
this sounds really cool, old school yu gi oh was my favorite and having a series like this will prob be perfect for finding the perfect balance of old school with new school, before things got really crazy.
@@zzzzzzzz1932 people can have similar ideas lmao. I don't doubt they took inspiration and thought "Oh yeah we should do this for a video" but it isn't blatant copy and paste, they still make it entertaining.
When I think of Yugioh, I think of big brain plays, pain and suffering, DPE, and looking at decks trying to figure out which waifu deck I haven’t built yet
Hopefully konami lets us craft banned cards since even after the update you still can't craft cards like pot of greed painful choice etc. Also going first was better there was rarely when going second was better
yeah i thought about the possibility of them not letting us craft new stuff because the first message they posted a few weeks ago seemed a bit cryptic.
@@rhymestyle honestly I think they might implement some sort of older formats into the game and put those cards into packs or they just forgot to let us craft them. It is konami after all
Rhyme: *has the win staring him in the face* Also Rhyme: "I'm so confidant I'm gonna win, I'll end my turn" Doto: "I'm about to end this man's whole career."
As for the favorite card question, it's not an OG card but Junk Warrior has to be my favorite card in the game. He looks really cool and has an awesome effect when used properly! Though the junk deck hasn't aged extremely well, it still has a lot of power and Junk Warrior is only a small percentage of it!
These games are so good! Me and my mates have been doing a semi similar thing where we use structure decks from the game but we are allowed to add 5-7 cards
As a huge fan of progression series and the three idiots I love this. I think it would be cool to see both players go over their deck really quick though, to see the thought process. Looking forward to more! As for the question about my favorite card, I wouldn't really be able to decide. Maybe Book of Moon, because there are so many different things you can do with it.
Long time favorite card of mine is Silent Magician Lvl 4/8. I got the promo versions from Nightmare Troubadour and they were a mainstay in my deck ever since. Really glad we got the new cards back in 2016, but I'd love to see future support for the Silent monsters.
Fav card of all time is actually Masked Hero Koga for me. He's such a beast of a beater, he saved me countless times in the old games. Although recently, i think Shining Neos Wingman will become my new favorite
Bruh, Doto actually summoned Red Eyes Black Skull Dragon. Actually my favorite card in the game, I had an action figure of it growing up. I hope it gets a retrain some day that gives it a useful effect, cause it's such a cool card.
I had to give a like for Doto making you regret the homie drop. 😂 I wish we could see y’all off camera battles. 😭 Edit: Doto and you are hilarious for the saygan battle OMG 🤣🤣🤣
Mirror force I can't forget how the the one copy of this is scary in old school and can change the outcome of the game the infamous set back row and bluff.
Also, I've got a question. Since you already posted a video titled "Master Duel unbans all cards", what are you gonna call the video where you cover the new Unlimited format?
Bro, i played OG YuGih and if i remember correctly, you were allowed to draw your 6th card even if you went first. So "drawing first or second" was only preference, sacrificing attacking for setting traps, they were equally good
Back in the day you got to draw a card going first so it was preferable to get a what was needed out. Favorite card of all time is pot of greed. Card advantage that even the knock off versions are powerful.
In OG Yugioh you go first to set you traps and counters down and negate whatever the hell your opponent wants to do first. You want to go first, never second even if you have an OTK deck. There are still set ups and combos you need to do and set up your negates.
Hell yeah the progression series! just as ive guessed! unless you were talkin bout somethin else. also my favcard of all time is the great Number 88: Gimmick Puppet Destiny Leo and its Chaos Xyz form Disaster Leo.
My favorite card has to be utopia because before I even really knew what yugioh was or how to play it I remember looking through my brothers yugioh cards and finding it and thinking he looked sick and telling people at school that I had him
me and some friends did this and we basically we drew a certain number of packs each session. I went to go test the site we were using and got dark magician, which I could not use since we were testing
lol the budokai 3 world explosion animation after exodia while im actually playing budokai 3 and doing an ultimate move. One of the craziest coincidences in my whole life hahal.
I feel like Rhyme did this on purpose. Why else did he throw away his win? Other than his masochistic desire to be obliterated by Exodia. Poor Doto betrayed by Time Wizard is pretty damn hilarious, not gonna lie.
Next episode will feature Pharaoh’s Servant and Magic Ruler
Awesome! I’m excited for this series! 😁👍
i think you will win Rhymestyle
Runnit.
Sweet
Very excited for this series
Rhyme: I AM só confident I gonna finish you with style

the man did dump all his points into luck
Should not have read the comments miss when they were at the bottom cuz all I did was look slightly down and got spoiled
If you play Dark Souls 3… then you know luck is gonna be fun.
@@KityFalconPunch if only he didn’t get like 2 homie drops that woulda been hilarious
And only Rhyme would forget hes on an Exodia timer and throw the game for several turns in a row.
I knew Rhyme was gonna fucking fumble the bag the moment he pulled a Vegeta. But man was it entertaining
I love how rhyme was sitting there, two blue eyes in hand and still thought “hmm, imma wait til I draw this ONE card”

I was really excited for unlimited, then I realized 90% of banned cards were UR’s 😅
And you can't craft them anyways even for unlimited usage
@@koito3929 cause all you have to do is put them in your deck and thats it
And for reference make a new a deck and listed as unlimited
@@randomsamurai3855 You can't use an incomplete deck. You need to somehow obtain the banned cards like pot of greed which isn't possible currently

Jirai Gumo beatdown...truly a Doto exclusive @.@
Remember in og yugioh when you went first you use to draw for turn. Going first has always been OP
So at first I was upset that he didn't grab Magician of Faith off Sangan, but then he grabbed Big Eye and that's based.

Doto accidentally summoning Exodia = Peak Protagonist
you watched the man use sangan 2 times, open up with 2 pieces and then use witch. Aint nothing accidental about it.

Omg the mad lad actually named it the Progression Series
Going first was better back then because you actually drew for turn so you didn't have that neg 1 in card advantage
