Both sides of my family were share croppers in South Texas and Mississippi. My goals are to have an Urban Market Garden in town. Also, you and your family is doing an amazing job and you and your little family coming back to participate has brought a HUGE refreshing breathe to Froberg's. I'm exited when I pass on 190 and all the parking spots are full! We love you all! Keep grinding!

Wow! I had no idea that you had a YT channel! Awesome! My husband's grandparents were farmers. The land was split up over time. My husband's parents did not farm, but an aunt lives on the original property now (smaller version), and we have been allowed to purchase a small slice out of her property for ourselves. We are now building a barndo on it and are looking forward to trying our hand at tiny farming. My husband has tremendously fond memories of being out there every weekend, and throughout the entire summer, on his grandparents' farm while growing up. It took me (city girl) a long time to warm up to the idea of moving out there... but I am getting more and more excited and eager to go. (Only approximately 3 more months!) We currently live near you and have loved your farm for 27 years! Our autistic son's class used to visit annually. You have a great place! Thank you for all the memories! We will miss your fruit hand pies!!

I grew up in Wisconsin around a lot of dairy farms. Farms that had been in families for generations. Part of the struggle I saw was that the younger generation (that was my age), knew how much work it was on the farm and wanted to have a different lifestyle and didn't want to continue. Or they had other interests. The estate planning and financial parts of it are definitely important to consider as well. Excellent video!

To do this, you HAVE to want it for sure. Thank you for the comment 🙏

@@farmer.froberg Absolutely! Being in middle school and helping "pick rocks" (yes, that's a thing in springtime in Wisconsin) and other farm chores, I knew very clearly that I would never want to do that! Now, gardening in my backyard, 100% up my alley!

Enjoyed watching your video "to the end"!
While I'm not farmer, my parents and grandparents farmed cotton in a small community called Frydek which is near Sealy Tx.
My mother inherited her portion of the family farm but sold it The story goes that her father (my grandfather) used to run a small still making wiskey, I guess in the 1920's and she had to help him, this was to make extra money, evidently quite successful selling to the locals! So guess my grampa and mom would be considered bootleggers!😂

My great grandparents were farmers. And as you said the land was divided multiple times and sold off. It never made it to my generation, unfortunately.

My grandfather was a farmer in Nebraska... but he sold everything to join the Army Air Corp and our family farming stopped there, although he did it as a hobby until he couldn't do it anymore.

I watched your video til the end. I follow you on Facebook and just subscribed on TH-cam.
My grandfather had many gardens, chickens, hogs,
and fruit trees. We picked and canned, slaughtered and smoked meats.
My oldest uncle had cows, hogs and gardens, too. Our families would join in on the "fun" on slaughter days. My uncle and aunt have 5 kids, and the 3 of us to help.
I love your attitude and thank you for your family's yard work. If I'm ever in your area I'll visit the farm. Im im Virginia.
