And those chops. Holy shit. He had a chop exchange with Valentine during the 89 Survivor Series. They were really popping each other. It left Ventura and Monsoon quiet for a bit until Jesse breaks character and says: "Ugh remember those chops in those days Gorilla?" You could hear the pain in Jesse's voice.

id love even today for him to don a pair of jis fav trunks and ride me in a sested rear chinlock, id buck and struggle while he cockily taunts and humiliates me in it just for his total satisfying pleasure, refusing to release it after i submit, so he can enjoy hearing me beg in it for as long as he wants, the man is still a stud and it would be a pleasure to "job" for him in that hold

If Garvin would have been a little younger and came into the WWF in the mid to late 1990s he would have been successful. He just came at the wrong time because he was just a straight up wrestler. I actually have recently watched old WWF Primetime and pay per views and he was great in the ring.

The WWF had a habit of taking former JCP/WCW champions and booking them as highly credentialed superstars who were now past their prime. Vader was the most famous example but they did it to Garvin and Harley Race as well. To be sure, Garvin and Race were past 40 so that angle kinda made sense.

In the big picture, Vince surely looked at it as getting hold of a guy who held the NWA Title just 2 years prior and who was one of their big stars for most of the 80s. But really, Garvin did just fine in the WWE, he and Valentine made good $$, and really Garvin just wanted to slow down, go hunting, and run his used car dealerships. Oh yea , Im familiar with his NWA work as well. I do remember the angle him and Jimmy had with the 4 horseman. It was funny as hell when he clocked JJ Dillan at the hotel room in drag. I dunno, something about him was just boring to me as a kid. He did have some good matches with Flair though, but if you want to be 'fair to Flair" the nature boy was haven't good matches with everyone as well. Sorry, had to copy the fair to Flair bit from Heenan. Lol.

Not sure he could be labeled WWF Superstar. They had him refereeing matches.

Ron could beat anybody. The only wrestler to defeat all four of the original four horsemen and Andre The Giant.

WWE ruined his career! Dino Bravo & Greg Valentine matches didn't bring out the best of him
