I’ve lived in one for 5 years yeah the cabinets and counters are made out of cheap crap but so far it has held up even through bad storms in Oklahoma. And it’s pretty energy efficient my electric bill is usually around $150-$200 a month

I am two years into my beautiful, solidly built and very practical home from Clayton. I bought a Steal 5 bed 3 full bath home 2,100 sq ft. It is well built, nothing "shoddy" about it. Since it was "on the lot" I didn't opt for any "extras" (that's what Home Depot is for) -- I have had zero problems once the home was delivered and set up on it's own block permanent foundation. I wouldn't choose to live in a mobile home park tor two reasons: I don't want to pay rent on something that I own. Plus, the population density tends to be very high to maximize land use and income for the owners of the land (and they can rake up the rent as they choose). Setting the mobile home was high, electricity, gas, drainage, water... I spent 40+ k and a scooch higher than 100K for the mobile home... I own my home, on my own land and it is beautiful. I go home without a monster mortgage hanging over my head (prices in the city for a stick built house are well over 450k... most scratching 600k with the lot I have). I will care for my home, because my home will care for me. All homes deteriorate (I have built three stick homes in my life, if you don't do upkeep, everything deteriorates). With the beautiful patio and terrace I have put on and the carport (really nice stand alone structures), I am sure that this home will retain and even go up in value. The folks at Sierra Vista Clayton in Arizona did me well. Great team. If you care for what you have, what you have will take care of you. Treat your home like trash, trash will you have.

I purchased my land and home thru clayton as well $176,000 total. I also opted out of an Hoa community, homes sit on top of each other. I only purchased a half of an acre but its beautiful, my home is 4 bd, 2 bath and my neighborhood has $200-$500,000 homes in it. Mine is 1680 sft. But it seems much larger. So I also can see the value of my home increasing in the future, with my upgraded landscaping and so forth. I'm so proud of my choice and my home will be permanently attached to my land which will make it real property, the project will be complete the end of Dec, I absolutely cant wait😁

No you dont . This is absolutely the hardest job in the world,I know ,I've worked in them for years. Firstly they dont tell you that workers have an average of 25 minutes to do there jobs. That means all electric from rough wiring to finish electric check has that allowed time to get it done, secondly they are not showing that multiple jobs are bring done in a house at a time ,20 people in one house you are continuously in each others way. Electric girls hanging lights and toeing off plugs, inside sheetrock hangers, door hangers, cabinet setters, finish molders, clean ip crews, adding appliances and anyone that's not finished up with there jobs its horrible. Then add the fact that they add all the plywood to the house its 120 degree inside. I could go on and on oh did I tell you they hardly pay more than minimum wages. You get the picture I wouldn't wish a job in a trailer plant on anyone.

It always amazes me that some people feel the need to expound on their lack of knowledge on subjects they know nothing about. To label the building materials that Clayton uses as "cheap" only exposes the level of ignorance of the individual saying these things. The truth is Clayton uses only the best and proven building materials available for home construction. Having been in the site built home industry for over 16 years, I can honestly say that these are the same materials used in the construction of any million dollar mansion. I'm sorry that many of you feel the need to tear things down for no reason. These homes have been true blessings for thousands of family's across the United States for many, many years.

I have never seen plastic cabinets and cheap vinyl flooring and you sure won't see 4x8 panels on the walls with strips covering the seams and exterior doors with large air gaps where they are supposed to seal. These are just a few of the things I have seen.

I am sorry for the "nay-sayers" but it looks like it's a very good product for those that can afford this type of home. I am not wealthy and live in the most expensive area of America - the Northern California Bay Area - and it appears Clayton is looking out for those of us who have a lot less money than some of the wealthier folks in the area. I watched/witnessed a lot of construction and again, Clayton is not using anything less than the other homes built from scratch in this area and appear to be taking all the right steps to ensure quality for the money

Do you offer a double wide size home in northeast Georgia with: premium grade plumbing fixtures, 2x6 walls, drywall(none of those little house trailer seam covers on inside walls, some type of solid countertop, commercial grade elongated toilets and big shower/bath, and solid doors, hardee board or other zero maintenance siding (hopefully not vinyl or wood)and metal roofing? As safe as a modern house in storms and tornado areas. Basically, built like a solid house but not worried about the decor and gimmicks and such. I’m an earthmover and just a casual builder(not pro)...and I get to know the customers that I do earthmoving for. The ones who I’ve graded house trailer lots for always have some weird plumbing issue such as a shower head that isn’t secured to studs, shower stall cracking, rocks thrown from mower through vinyl siding. I have some family land I need to set up a house on for my mother to temporarily live In while I build her a new home. And after she moves out of temporary we want to make it a rental property. And if things change it needs to be quality in case we re-locate it to another property. Is there a recommendation for a model that suits my needs? Price? Pics or video? Thanks

Some of these comments are obviously from Clayton employees. I've been a carpenter for over fifty years so don't believe everything you see in this video. My niece just purchased 70 ft mobile home and just about everything I have seen is cheap junk and poor carpentry. Her home is just under 1200 sq foot and the total was over 80 grand for a stapled piece of junk. When the sun is shining you can see where the wallboards were stapled and to me it looks like hail damage on a car that was covered over. You couldn't see this when the trailer was sitting on the lot since they were so close together hardly any light was getting in. The cabinets in most of the trailers were plastic junk with the cheapest of everything throughout. If there was anywhere they could put a staple instead of a nail or screw that is what they did. Some idiot didn't even cut out for a floor register and when I steeped on it I almost went through the vinyl so I ended up cutting it out myself. I was in the used car business for a few years band in the 80's and that was nothing compared to what goes on in the trailer business after what I have seen my niece go through.

Not many women work in these factories. Must be one of those very hard labor jobs.

Well obviously clayton factory didn't take pride in building my home cause if they did it would have leaked ever since I moved in in 2022. And since the factory decided to use bad or wrong fascia my entire home inside and out was destroyed by hurricane Helen and I have to have everything gutted out. Never buy a home from clayton or oakwood.

Yeah, wood, steel, fasteners, pipe and insulation. I wouldn't use any of those things in my home. I'm sure you wouldn't either.

I worked at the one in Savannah TN and i can tell you that the ones there at least, are slung together.
Theres all sorts of things i seen that rolled out of there, that i thought would never be acceptable..lol but we just covered it up with drywall and siding and let it role...im talking about all sorts of things, unsquare, half nailed, halfway done..i even seen nails through wiring that made it through..and was never said anything about.. lol, trim hanging halfway off..insulation half missing, siding wavy as a snake...i even went here recently to a dealership and the new models i walked in from that facility, you could immediately see the windows was crooked in the walls, and the doors was too, and trim was falling off, told the sales man and he didnt say anything but, yeah..your right.. lol...if they would slow down and take their time and not slave drive, they would be built alot better...
