14:20 I tried ignoring Starbuck, thinking as you said that the Sunshower protection would be enough. "It's a 2 coin skill doing like 30 dmg max to Heathcliff, I'm full hp, no way I get staggered".
Starbuck then proceeded to only flip heads and critting twice for 80-100 damage each on the 4th and 5th coins. Yeah, Heathcliff wasn't looking so good anymore.
Hey, thanks for the guide! I used a mix of this video and the linked guide for my own RR3, had more trouble with some parts (7 turns Slitcurrent, 5 turns Ardor Moth, +1 turn on most other encounters) but I got through in 58 turns which isn't half bad.
Requires restarting fights a bit, but reasonably so, and most fights went rather smoothly (and the full revive+heal on checkpoints relieves a lot of the stress).
Great starting point if you have the needed units.

I just need to 10 turn this guy and I won't have to be ashamed this season. I'm guessing all of your units used have to be level 40/UT4 and the EGO too?
Now that the event ids + burn ids are revealed/out and probably the season shortly after, would you change anything team-wise? I feel as if BL Meursault would be the only real change here, since the rest already have really good IDs to use.
Not really, none of them really help get lower turns. Any of the rupture fights they don't help at all so the only fights they could potentially be used are the Ahab and mermaid fights.
The only way to get a better turn in the mermaid fights is by simply having better sin resource management and no specific identity will help with that as it's just a skill you need to have as a player. Though with that said in my run specifically BL Meursault could have been used over MB Outis as they have very similar sin lineups. He's much more of a dps unit than she is so it could potentially be faster. Also it would free up 7 Outis who's high speed is much preferable in the first Ahab fight.
For the first Ahab fight the best way to do it is the way I did it with using EGOs and charge so nothing helps there.
Gasharpoon also doesn't really work. Any status effect sucks in in this fight since Ahab cleanses whenever the phase changes and so you can't stack up burn very well. Not to mention the main damage of burn comes from dark flame and without giving Outis extra skill slots it's incredibly slow giving only 1-3 for the first 6-8 turns. BL also doesn't help because while they do have lots of pride skills they are almost entirely slash damage which Ahab resists meaning you'd be doing at best neutral damage.
Unless the next season adds some super broken rupture or pride-pierce damage identity I don't think anything would realistically help that much other than just playing incredibly optimal.

Why would you use 7outis over 7heathcliff? 7cliffs s2 turn 1 for 2 count +s3 turn 2 on talismaned body part is much better than outis s2s
The reason I didn't use him is because I was using Sunshower Heathcliff for the butterfly since his counter + low speed + skill 2 is one of the best options for sinking when not using Spicebush Yi Sang. Thinking about it now it would have been more optimal to swap them around using Spicebush for the butterfly and 7 for the other two since W Yi Sang is only better if you either have charge or use AEDD. But if you're using AEDD, LCCB Ishmael is actually the best since gloom skill 2 + lucky high speed skill 3 is far better than both 7 Heathcliff and Outis.

Yeah that makes sense, not using spicebush makes the margin for error incredibly slim. I have the math sitting on my computer still and the most optimal run will do 1,460 sinking damage and that's with 2 overclocked Rimeshanks! Even in this video you can see how tight it was, of course I couldn't use a 2nd Rimeshank but the extra coins from Rodion gave a pretty similar result and I still barely beat it. 1 coin less or missed coin roll and it would have failed.
The more optimal and easier way to do it is swap Sunshower Heathcliff for Spicebush Yi Sang. Not only would that make the moth less of a pain and way easier it also opens up 7 Heathcliff to be used in the previous 2 fights who is way better than W Yi Sang because he isn't reliant on charge to keep a rupture stack alive and with a 4 coin skill he does more damage too.

Like in 14:05 , before he uses dimension shredder he uses his skill 1 for some reason? Is this a bug or something?
It's Captain Ishmael. She has the effect 'Assist Attack' on her skill 2 which makes the unit on her right use an extra skill 1.

I watched the guide a couple times, but I still can't understand why in his video is able to kill Ahab on the second turn, but when I try the same strategy, she just refuses to die, can someone explain what I may be doing wrong?
If I had to guess I'd say you're probably lacking a little bit of damage on the first turn. The first Ahab fight basically has two phases and during the first she is unkillable. The trigger for her 2nd phase is actually slightly below her stagger threshold so you have to stagger her and do a little bit more damage to trigger the 2nd phase. I'm not 100% certain on where the trigger is but I think it's around 45-50% her total hp. Most of the ways to improve dps is ultimately reliant on RNG such as Don or Ishmael moving first to inflict fragility for Yi Sang's dimension shredder and also getting lucky with the EGO coin flips. The best way to manipulate turn order is to select the fragility appliers first so that if they speed tie, they will gain priority and move first.

If you don't have the identities to burst her third phase down in 1-2 turns the best way to play it is fairly slow with tanky identities that resist both pierce and sloth. You'll want 2-3 of them since she can counter upwards of 3 times per turn but so long as you have enough DPS to break her shield every turn it should no longer be a problem after the first few turns.
In terms of dps units the best choices are:
Any Yi Sang Identity that resists pierce so long as you have Dimension Shredder.
W Don obviously, though both Cinq and Middle are decent since they both have pride skill 3's and Cinq is pure pierce.
W Ryoshu again obviously.
Hook Hong Lu and Tingtang can be okay, they're not the greatest but they do have pierce skills and Dimension Shredder on them can be nice for the fragile.
Rabbit Heathcliff again is an obvious choice but Pequod can be good too not just for damage but also tanking since he loves taking hits.
All of Ishmael's 3 stars except Liu are really good though Captain is significantly better than the other two.
Nclair and Cinqclair are both really good, N for brute force and Cinq for pride pierce skill 2 and fragile skill 3.
The best units to tank the counters are:
Pretty much any Yi Sang Id that resists pierce, they can all tank at least one counter.
N, Zwei and 7 Faust are pretty decent they can tank pretty well, and fluid sac just makes it even more reliable.
Lantern and Middle Don are very good at tanking any hit. Cinq and W are both resistant to pierce which makes them decent.
W Meursault is one of the best, he can consistently move faster than everyone else meaning he'll usually be eating one of the counters plus you can use pursuance to make him even more resistant.
K corp Hong Lu obviously I don't even need to explain that.
Pequod Heathcliff is really good though he can get staggered early so play with him carefully.
The 3 star Ishmael's I mentioned are all good though you do need to use an EGO to remove the sloth fatality blind obsession being the best.
Rodion doesn't have anything really good though Dieci can be okay since the shield generation is enough to offset the pierce fatality.
Cinqclair's got decent bulk and pierce resistance.
Probably the best you can use is Cinq or 7 Outis, both of them will consistently move faster than everyone else and will almost always be eating a counter, and if you want even more survivability you can use sunshower to give her sloth resistance.
Zwei Gregor's pretty good too since he can eat any hit no problem.
You'll want to take 2-3 of both the tanks and DPS units I mentioned. Most of them are 3 stars so it's not very easy to do it on a budget since most 2 stars match up poorly against Ahab. They either don't have enough DPS or health and if you don't have both you can't beat her. If don't have enough of the units I mentioned my friend code is at the very end of the video. I have most of the DPS units in my company that you can use if you'd like.
Alternatively, you can wait a few days for Blade Lineage Meursault, and absolutely decimate Ahab with how absurdly broken he is.
