Do you notice a difference in size between the 2 and 3? On Aer’s website they say 3: 21.4L vs 2: 24.6L? Sounds like a big difference!

Not sad that I have the 2. I do like the new internal fabric on the 3.

I was very excited to see this new version, but am disappointed that the side organization pocket is gone

Agreed. I like the second water bottle pocket but I don't see why that side pocket couldn't stay hidden behind it. You lose a lot of organization since the main pocket has none.

that is the best thing about the duffel 2 IMO. its like a little dopp kit pocket. I use it all the time

I actually prefer the pocket designs in the Pack 2. The quick access pockets at the top of the bag in the Pack 3 seem harder to access when you swing the bag to the front. The Pack 2 front pocket is easier to access.

Got the duffel pack 2, pretty happy with it. I do like the two bottle holders on the pack 3, really useful to hold both my water and coffee externally

Glad to hear the Duffel Pack 2 is working well for you, PausePlay. We hear you, having two bottle pockets does come in handy!

I'd love to see a comparison video with osprey and eagle creek packing cubes.

Any improvement on center zip? Was a tough one to maneuver especially when packed full

Is there a water bottle retaining cord on the 3 like there is on the 2 .. if not that's a deal-breaker.

Just got the 2 a month ago since it was on sale - still breaking it in. One disappointing thing, which I'm sure goes for the new version as well, is the bag looks like you can pack a lot more stuff in it than you actually end up with. Still happy with it, just figuring out the most optimal organization inside of it. Putting size 12 shoes in the shoe pouch takes up like 25% of the space. Probably only slides or flip-flops.

Is the 3.2 Liter loss from the 2 to the 3 due to the side pocket loss? Or is it also smaller on the main compartment and laptop compartment? And is either of this ones better than the Flight Pack 3 for EDC?

Considered upgrading from the 1… but both these removed the long pockets on either side you can fully open up. That’s probably the most feature I’ve ver had on a backpack. No upgrade for me.

How does the grey color look in person?

Id like to know too. Wonder if it gets dirty more easily than the black.

Again, I think AER misses the mark. The bags don’t stand on their own upright... so it it constantly just tumbles forward onto the main compartment. The laptop/tech compartment is so cramped as with the v2, you can see the struggle of accessing the depths of it. A few cm more of expansion, equalling out the zipper pull range/actually making that portion clam shell would almost cure those gripes I have. But hey onto the next one. Thanks for the review!

Also, I’m fairly certain the the bottle pockets on the v2 had a dummy/shock cord feature that secure the water bottle better... guess where your bottle goes when the bag inevitably flops forward... 🙄

    Very minor upgrades
