nice looking bag and good review. it does look like it holds more than 22 litres, though that could be the perspective in the video

Hi! Thank you for the great review (as always!) I'm considering buying a combination bag like this. Is it possible to fit a Bose Mini SoundLink, Logi MX Master in a case and a small on-ear headset in the tech area? Or do I have to put this in the gym area? Thank you!!

I have been considering this bag for a while, I need something that can carry a MacBook 13 and an iPad 12,9 and at the same time handle light business travel (1-2 days). My only gripe is the looks of the bag, I think it doesn’t- fit well on business meetings since it looks like you are carrying your gym bag (obviously) with all the sweaty clothes inside. Anyway, I always considered the trade offs in the everyday portion of the back worth it considering how versatile the front gym pocket is.

Agree. I think the sweet spot would be an aer fit pack with larger capacity.

    Great review.
I'm looking for something exactly like this. But 4-5L more capacity... any tips? Thanks!

Is this bay small enough to go underneath an airplane seat?

Anyone who has this, do you think this'll fit size 13 shoes and just gym stuff? Trying to consider this before buying.

Would you say it's safe to carry a laptop in this, without a sleeve?

  • @immerse_yaself

Does the laptop compartment use an AquaGuard zip? It looks like a normal zipper without the rubber seal.

I have the duffel 2 which doesn’t have the aqua guard zippers on that compartment and I never had water get in that compartment. The main duffel compartment got a little moist in heavy rain but that was about it. They have a rain cover for it but I never felt like I needed it. I keep an umbrella in my water bottle pocket.

It has a decent amount of space, I like it. It's pretty spacious, I wouldn't say like for everything, but for most things 👌👍.

@@PackHacker2 this backpack seems to have alot of cool features, but one of my fav is the amount of pockets inside to store things, I like that. The two water bottles on both sides is nice because most don't really offer that imo.

Thanks for your insights! 😃 We love a double water bottle pocket, too!

How much rain can it be exposed to before water starts getting through?

    • @PackHacker2
      @PackHacker2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It’s crafted from 1680D CORDURA Ballistic Nylon, which can handle a fair amount of rain. If it starts to pour, it’s good to head for cover.

I'm between this, the lo & sons hakuba, and the Boundary Supply Errant for a commuter (OneWheel) bag. I need to fit my work oxfords (shoes), two laptops, mouse, packed lunch, water bottle, coffee thermas. Love the shoe pocket in this bag but I worry about the rest of the space for packing a lunch.

Hey Alex! We just got an Osprey Radial in for review consideration. It sounds like it might be a good option for you as well.

@@PackHacker2 Thanks for the heads up. I ended up needing it sooner and bought the Errant used. Looking forward to the review.

@@PackHacker2 May I get a little advice here? I’m actually thinking between this and the Aer travel pack 2 small, which is larger about 28liters. It may sound a weird comparison, but it makes sense because the travel pack small is just a little larger than the duffel pack 2 and it also has a shoe compartment and laptop compartment. I have a similar size shoes as yours and I’m curious which would be a better choice when it might be used to gym and sometimes a weekend travel. Would the duffel pack 3 be a much slimmer choice for a everyday work gym pack? I’m struggling because I have very little experience on duffels and not sure how it works when a pair of shoes are put in, I mean how much space is left and is it enough for other stuff?

I feel like there is no way that elastic strap is going to last for years to come. Exposed elastic always rots in exposure to the sun in my experience.

Easy fix if you don’t like the bag not standing upright. I really don’t use the shoe compartment therefore I took a piece of dense 1/2 inch packing foam, cut it in a shape to match the bottom of the bag and wedged it in place. Problem solved, bag will stand upright. All Aer needed to do was create more structure in the bottom and the bag would stand upright. Maybe they’ll figure the out for version 4. If you have a good seamstress they can easily add structure to the bottom.

I really like this bag and it does looks super functional but there's no way in hell my size 11/12 shoes are going in there with my gym clothes, work laptop and food. 30L is more realistic. Which is where the able carry max comes in.....

I’m 6’2 size 12 and I fit all those things in the duffel pack 2 barely. I’m just checking this bag out and this bag is slightly smaller I don’t think I would be able to pull it off in this one. I’m happy I have the duffel 2. ID get that one if you could.
