I received this Playmobil set for free from Playmobil so that I could unbox it and review. Opinions are my own.
This is the vehicle of The A-Team with extensive interior equipment, as well as the legendary characters Hannibal, B.A., Face and Murdock.
The A-Team are four ex-elite soldiers on an unusual mission. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they did not commit, they escaped and now help others in need. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire, the A-Team. Besides Hannibal, B.A., Face and Murdock, the fifth team member is definitely the mega-cool A-Team Van. With its extensive interior equipment with monitor, welding machine, operation boards, cabinet and perforated wall for various accessories, the van is well equipped for any special operation. Of course, all team members find space inside the van. The roof inserts can be removed for easier play. Like the original, the PLAYMOBIL A-Team Van also has the iconic three colour painting, an extended sun visor and red rims. A highlight not only for movie car collectors and A-Team fans, but also PLAYMOBIL fans! The set includes Hannibal, B.A., Face and Murdock, as well as a van with space for five figures. The side door and tailgate of the van can be opened.

Hey there, as an adult who grew up with the A-Team I totally see what they're going for with this. There's a lot of neat little details. A couple thoughts:
1) Why is there a 3rd brake light above the rear door? Doing that seems odd because it would have probably cost LESS to do it right and leave that correct.
2) The side door looks strange. They they'd made it more properly shaped it would look a lot better. It reminded me of a Lego front door for a house off an 80s set.
3) Changing the verbiage in the book is both sacrilege and understandable. 1978 was a long time ago and no kids today would be able to connect with it like we did...but one could argue the same is true about the show itself...so I dunno. I'm guessing it's to keep it a little less period focused. But kids today don't read anyway...damn I miss Reading Rainbow! They should have just left that alone IMO

I had the same thoughts on the side door. This set does so much right in terms of the overall look and the paint job (especially the two tone body color), but they absolutely dropped the ball on the side door and the interior. Face sitting in that backseat by the door is iconic, so Playmobile choosing to flip the back seats the wrong way round really was a huge mistake. I get that they did it to create more play room, but lets be real, this set isn't being marketed to 8 year olds. Adults would rather have accuracy. Adults would like to be able to display this with the side door open and Face sitting in his seat. You can't do that with this set. Also, it would have been nice to get the AK-47s. But given the current status with guns in this country I can see why there was zero chance of that happening.
I just picked up K.I.T.T. and it's going off the shelf like Hotcakes. Now I need to seriously think about the A-Team van. Man, The 80's had some really fantastic shows. Loved watching them as a kid!

Oh you know you forgot the sometimes went down when the a team has they have their weapons too as well they are like machine guns em60 machine gun that Hannibal uses and have all the other all the other weapons and tools that they have to have a plan that's going and handle always love to jazz it's all about the jazz and Hannibal loves it when the plan comes together

shame the figures don't come with Ruger M14's - A Team without guns is lame. They never hit or killed anyone anyway.....need someone to 3D print some weapons for them, but am guessing Playmobil doesn't want guns in its universe>?
I don't know how why guns were left out. There are guns in other sets.

You may want to check out Lighttailing. they may kits for LEGO maybe they make them for Playmobil, too.

although I'm a big A-Team fan, I'm a little disappointed as there is no sound feature (afaik); in contrast to the Playmobil's Ghostbsters car where the siren is just amzing!
I'd like to know what the holes are for on the sides just under the drivers and passengers door. It looks like a peg hole to attach accessories but is not mentioned anywhere.
Great set but sadly a reuse of the mystery machine , would of liked a diff molding
I would have really liked to have seen parts that you could put on to mod the van into a tank, like they did on occasion.

Really great observations. I agree about the seats. Not sure what they could have done on the van door. This is the same door as the Mystery Machine one.

Drew, you should have shown the back of Murdocks jacket! Also when the series first aired it was 10 years ago, as the series got older, it made more sense to say in 1972, that's why they changed it. Disappointed there's no Ruger mini-14s in the set

The reason why they did that is in the first season or two they used the 10 years ago phrase instead of 1972, that is the original intro, I'm not sure why but they changed it... Except as the show went on it was no longer 10 years ago, it would be 11, 12 etc, so maybe 1972 just made sense, Great review by the way... Seems like Playmobil don't have the license to make a GMC van.
Guess not. Doesn't really make a huge difference to me, though. I still enjoy the toy.
that s not an accurate gmc van though...
I can't say that that fact lessens my enjoyment of the piece. Still fun despite not being 100% show accurate.
