In this video I install a zip tie RRP ProGuard front fender as a rear fender. These fenders work great. #rrp #mtb #mtblife Get yours here: reciprocators.ca/trevor-meyer
I had the same idea, but haven`t done it. After your video i bought this fender. Now it`s on my bike and it looks really good. Tomorrow i`m gonna try it. Thanx for this video !!!
Ive just bought the RRP front for my Mythique after this i shall get another and do the same here as i think it looks brilliant. I would've liked to have seen you wash your bike then after the installation a brief ride to show how effective it actually is but Im just gonna have to take your word for it now, but thanks for sharing.
I have a mudhugger installed that way on my remedy. It works really well to protect pivots and bearings. Doesn't do much for your butt :) but saves the bearings very well
It rubs a slightly at that point. I am actually planning another video showing the fix. Just need to trim it back a bit. Every bike is different though but is easily modified.
It worked pretty good. I have had the occasional rub due to it being squished in slightly right at the bottom. I just need to trim off maybe an inch to solve it.
I have those exact tires on my 1992 GT Pantera right now and I love them .
Thanks for sharing your work on this. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!

Ride test!
I did the exact same thing on my YT. Looks good, works perfectly.
Thanks. Adding these to my new bike. When cutting tie raps, use nail (as in finger and toes) clippers. No sharp bits.
And/or cut by the plastic fender, not against the painted surface.
Great for being able to lock up the bike through the rear triangle and wheel with a U-lock since the traditional rear mudguards get in the way!
excellent video..thank you brother

I also test bottoming the suspension with the dropper post bottomed to make sure there's no contact with the seat
Do you know how wide the fender is? I am wondering about using them on a gravel bike.
It fits the Giant Stance 1
I think it will fit anything with a little mod
I'm going to buy some RRP guards so I'm curious on how that rear fender/guard is doing at the lower point?

How did the fender work on the back, thinking on doing this with my scout

Hey, what size did you use? mini, standard, max protection.
The one shown is the max protection. Just needs a little trimming
Hi. May I ask the size of your tyres? Mine are 27.5 x 2.8. Do you think this fender will fit my tyre?
I have 29” 2.5. I used to have 2.6 and it wasn’t an issue. Not sure about 2.8
What size in the fender, standard or max? Thanks in advance.
It is a max
How did it work when you test rode it?
It did rub but easily fixed. Here is a better vid on modifying it a bit.

Proguard now make a bigger rear mudguard
I don’t think they’re available yet in my my neck of the woods
😘
👍🏼🥃🇺🇸
Is that the standard or max?
I believe the max
Still, you should enjoy some mud on your back.
