I've never played the first FH, but I'd like to say that it's the total underdog feeling that makes the game a little better than the modern FHs. Think I remenber getting a "Forza Edition" car (basically an overpowered version of one car) at the near start of my FH5 playthrough... *When I was about level 10-*
If you played this game during its time, it is a wonderful experience (with the DLC's). Vanilla-game nowadays is good but the endgame is just waiting for the last Barn Find to appear and that's it. The 1000 Club DLC was an amazing way to expand the game and to use every single car but nowadays (with the servers gone and without the DLCs available) it hinders any chance to play it again, in my opinion.
Forza Horizon 1 with the XE mod, which imports the new cars added on the 360 version of Horizon 2 is pretty neat. The one that puts the cars that didn't make it back into Horizon 2 is nice too, but it's still Horizon 2 on the 360. Unfortunately it's going to be the main way people are going to remember Horizon 2 for some time, since there's not much reason to buy an old One, but maybe get a One S, and many might get a Series S rather than an One X, and both of those don't have a disk drive, which is the "apocarlypse" for racing game fans, while most xbox games now are released to PC aswell, so not many are bothering with an Series X.

Love FH1 and always will! The intro sequence racing to the festival, to the overall presentation of a festival was just on point for me. The radio music selection was great, the story was great, the racing was fun. Just an overall incredible game I wish I could experience all over again :) My only gripe I have that leaves a bitter taste for me was that I was banned from using online services just because I managed to get a hold onto a black listed car into my garage. For some reason, instead for Turn10 to just *remove* these vehicles from being allowed in your garage, they just permanently ban you for having these modded harmless vehicles. Ever since, I could never level up online, use a club, download player created wraps/tune setups, or do he club 1000 challenges :( Really blows. First time played it when it came out. And still playing on my xbox 360. The best Horizon game ever made. Still. The only game among Horizon games where you really FEEL that you participate in actually FESTIVAL. Isn't that the main point of the game, summer festival. Like you are young and free and whole summer is yours. Damn wheels of fortune. It's all about the money nowdays. Good video.
I played Forza Horizon when it came out. It was fun, but it really left a sour taste in my mouth because they were advertising an open world with different surfaces to drive on, but aside from a select few open areas, you were bound to the road. The entire time I was playing I was just wanted to drive straight from point A to B without roads like you can do in Test Drive Unlimited, and was mad that a game that came out 5-6 years before Horizon was truly open world and Horizon wasn't. And because of that I didn't play another Horizon title until FH3 with the Hot Wheels DLC and by then it was truly open world, not sure if FH2 was open world or not though?
An emulator you say? Why didn't i think of that before? 😂 Might finally be time to experience this gem. Been wanting to do that for a long time. I always felt like this could be of those games that could land in a special place in my heart. Where games like NFS Underground 1, Burnout 3 and Dirt 2 live - where you can feel they've been made with love.
I really do wish that they would bring back to simple story to Forza Horizon instead of just you being a ginormous celebrity are superstar just go back to where you were literally nothing and then you make your way up in the festival. That’s what we miss about it.
So back in the day I had an early 360 that had a red ring of death and I basically switched to PS3 soon after (as the slim had come out). But when Horizon came out, I actually went out to get a slim model and this game really got me back to the 360. Sadly it has also proven to be one of the last Xbox games I've been really hyped for and actually enjoyed playing since. All the FH games after never quite hooked me the same way. Also the soundtrack of FH1 is without a doubt one of the best 3rd-party game soundtracks of all time. I still listen to those songs to this day, some still being favorites that I play during house parties. If I recall correctly a DJ made the selection of songs, but after FH2 or FH3 they got rid of him and it really shows.
i have played every single FH besides this one, and honestly it looks amazing for a 360 game, and Forza Motorsport 4 (which came out in 2011) managed to show off how capable the 360 was in terms of graphics, and this game showed how an open world could push the limits of the 360, Turn 10 and Playground Games must've studied the 360 because it was as impressive as halo 4
I wholeheartedly agree on that simplicity take of yours, especially at 4:33. And man, just looking back at the title screens, and comparing them all it really shows the difference, and how the games were built around different themes. I never owned an Xbox One, so I never played FH2 (and no, I haven't tried the X360 version either because let's be honest it was made too inferior), but seeing its title screen gives me the same chill vibes the original Horizon delivered. Just in a different (AFAIR, european) setting. Then things shifted away from that, and despite loving FH3 almost as much as OG Horizon, and having a blast each time launching FH4 during winter season (because I'm a winter person IRL, I just hate other seasons really), they deviated quite much, and personally I'm not a fan of it. And yes, I absolutely adore the Australian biomes and gorgeous landscapes, UK-inspired rural views and roads, I even love me some mexican mountains (and that's all for FH5, I can't stand everything else there from music to dialogue, besides upgraded visuals of course, haha), but the map & the world in FH1 will be forever The best in every way for me. Even if it's not as open due to solid unbreakable barriers (especially because of those barries, because eff modern open-world racers where you drive a bloody tank that obliterates barriers just by angrily staring at them!). The story and progression (and the way the Festival is organized, too) are also well done, it just feels like you earn & accomplish something by playing the game, and by getting better at it. You're not being bombarded by gifts for every fart you make, you're not being treated like the most valuable person in the game world like modern FH games do, and that' excellent. Ah man... and the music, oh it feels so good.
I wonder if they already fixed the cockpit view on several cars and the texture glitches in car selection, the rest of the game is fully playable from start to finish even the customization work perfectly now, just those 2 glitch that still a major but not so major problem in the game on emulator
I played FH1 this year for the first time and I can tell you - it's not nostalgia, the game is just that fucking good. I'm still impressed how good the graphics are - if they made the background models with more polygons you could convince me it's an early PS4 title. On the same console that brought us TES: Oblivion! The driving model is easy enough for beginners, but can give you a good and fair workout without traction control. I could swear cars with TC off are just faster, even if they are harder to control. The atmosphere is spot on, like an actual music festival combined with car racing, rather than just a splattering of barely related race events. While it doesn't have a plot, at least the "star rivals" thing keeps you racing just to shut up these smug bastards. It has actual progression where you go from slow cars and easy races to faster cars and difficult races, while something like FH5 just shotguns you with everything the game has right away. FH2 on X360 kinda sucks in comparison. Maybe it's better on XOne but I haven't played it. FH5 for better or worse is a car MMO with no progression to speak of and endless treadmill of seasonal events and user content.
@@BlooTeg In my opinion about soundtracks of Horizon series: 1 is Goated now and forever. 2 is Great but not as good as the first one. 3 is Good, some good tunes and some of them are hit and miss. 4 is Okay, I don't remember more than 3 or 4 songs (NRG, Never say die, Midnight city and Kids) But it was okay to listen. No sweat. And 5... Total disaster. No way to sugarcoat this, Yes yes there are some okay and even good tracks but overall It's look like a white teenage girl playlist suggested by spotify type of shit + Mainstream af (And no CHVRCHES) Anyway, I follow your videos for quite a while now and I'm a massive racing fan and of course I like music. I Really like that you make a video about soundtracks in racing games (I know there is a lot of shits going on in the genre and soundtrack is not the biggest problem right now.) and talks about it in general. Also I made a Spotify Playlist recently and collected the best songs from Golden ERA of racing games. If do you want to help me to make it better or share or even collab together on Spotify, Let me know. Good luck!
I personally believe this game has the best soundtrack in Racing game and maybe even video game history. Every song it has fits the vibe perfectly, and all the songs have become timeless classics. (Except bom bom, we dont talk about that....)
I honestly believe that the original Horizon was better than the modern forza games here. There's such a Vibe here whenever i look at the original Horizon game here that I sadly cannot get from the modern forza games. Like what you said here. I feel like the modern horizon games have lost their innovation and charm here. Hope a future sequel can retain what made horizon so good here ♥ 🐀
Played this for the first time in 2023 as well as FH2 when the servers were shutting down. Didn’t play any online or anything. My first Horizon game was FH3, and I Loved FH1. Addictive as hell. FH2 was actually kinda a disappointment. For some reason I enjoy the odd numbered Horizon games way more. My only complaint is that the AI will just forget how to drive when they hit a traffic car. It’s hilarious, I took out the snobby guy in the Diablo because I hit a Prius with my Ford GT and he just dumbly ran into it. Wish the Rally DLC was still available because I would buy it in a heartbeat. Also the showcases feel insane, like I genuinely think only Forza Horizon 5 has recaptured the insanity of those events.
@@BlooTeg playing all 5 over the years, Horizon 2 for some reason hold the most memories for me. The vibe, music (the mother we share), the light hearted road trip story, more incentive to change and mod cars cause the playlist, the map (especially the mountain side) and of course the free Mazda and fast and furious dlc was the cherry on top. There are more but these are things that I can think of right away.
The first Forza Horizon feels like a car and enthusiast festival, made for gamers, Forza Horizon 5 feels like an empty plain for plastering ads, and the whole game is just a marketing strategy for car corporations, the normal and boring ad about this year Ev driving in some place and buy it right now by only 120k
What you said about progression in a racing game...yeah...thats what makes most racers today boring for me. When you get your dream car after 2 hours of racing...it loses all worth. Gran Turismo 2 back then was perfect. Do licenses, do easy races, and work you way up. Not start at the top.
I played the first and second on the emulator. My order: Forza Horizon 3 - I bought it before it was taken out of the store Forza Horizon 1 -I played on the emulator and I loved the music, the races, everything. Forza Horizon 4 - I liked Forza Horizon 2 - I played it on the emulator and I didn't like it very much. I didn't like the tracks and the music, it seems to be an expansion of the first one with less stuff. I haven't played 5 and I want to buy it.
racing games need to stop making us "superstars" i'm tired of being liked by every single character and being the big deal hotshot, i want to be an underdog that everyone either dislikes or underestimates

great video but after reading the title i dont know why but felt like an Act Man title on "Why FORZA HORIZON is such A MASTERPIECE?!"
I'll invite him to a video
Good times man, such a banger soundtrack
i have played every single FH besides this one, and honestly it looks amazing for a 360 game, and Forza Motorsport 4 (which came out in 2011) managed to show off how capable the 360 was in terms of graphics, and this game showed how an open world could push the limits of the 360, Turn 10 and Playground Games must've studied the 360 because it was as impressive as halo 4
REAL
I just bought NASCAR 06: total Team control and Street Racing Syndicate for the Og Xbox even though it's for my Xbox 360 via Backwards Compatibility
hell yeah
Ah man... and the music, oh it feels so good.
hell yeah, I really hope they at least try going back to this someday
FH1 felt like Blackbox NFS with new Skin.
I'm assuming that's a good thing hahah
@@BlooTeg it's good, considring how nfs went after undercover.
My first forza horizon and my favorite one in the series
I wonder if they already fixed the cockpit view on several cars and the texture glitches in car selection, the rest of the game is fully playable from start to finish even the customization work perfectly now, just those 2 glitch that still a major but not so major problem in the game on emulator
texture glitches with wraps, no haha
So cool you picked my favorite sonic game to make the video 😊
wait no
once again another awesome video! i hope i'll be able to play this game sometime in the a near future
PLEASE do!
You always deliver! Awesome video!
thank you! glad you enjoyed!
Até hj o primeiro horizon continua sendo meu favorito
Quality content as always, meu nobre!
THE PAIN of not having an adequate pc or an xbox 360, maaaaaaaaaaaaan fuck
...well, at least i have gran turismo
can't go wrong with GT!
Man the soundtrack of this game was something else, 2 was so good too.
I really gotta give that one another shot

In my opinion about soundtracks of Horizon series:
1 is Goated now and forever.
No way to sugarcoat this, Yes yes there are some okay and even good tracks but overall It's look like a white teenage girl playlist suggested by spotify type of shit + Mainstream af (And no CHVRCHES)
Anyway, I follow your videos for quite a while now and I'm a massive racing fan and of course I like music.
Good luck!
thank you; I appreciate that!
4:09 💀
Sonic video when
it's the next one!
I personally believe this game has the best soundtrack in Racing game and maybe even video game history. Every song it has fits the vibe perfectly, and all the songs have become timeless classics. (Except bom bom, we dont talk about that....)
actually real.
Oh and we don't talk about a certain band on Horizon Rocks because their lead singer, well, y'know... 🤢
@@Sam36192 (Child Diddler moment 🤮) (but like you said.... we dont talk about that....)
How your you are just getting couple of thousands, you deserve at least 500k per video
LOL thank you!
I love the old you slapping the new you😂😂😂
he bullies me
@@BlooTeg you gotta stand up for yourself
3:30 It's a Corrado not a Scirocco ;)
That Green Mouse😂
he's always there
@@BlooTeg awesome
I honestly believe that the original Horizon was better than the modern forza games here. There's such a Vibe here whenever i look at the original Horizon game here that I sadly cannot get from the modern forza games. Like what you said here.
I feel like the modern horizon games have lost their innovation and charm here. Hope a future sequel can retain what made horizon so good here ♥ 🐀
let's hope they deliver!
Well, you convinced me, I need to play this forza.
YES!
@@BlooTeg thank for your content blootag, i need more!!!!!!!!
there's a lot on the channel! check it out!
For me Horizon 2 was my favorite. cant wait for that video!
hell yeah.
My order:
Forza Horizon 3 - I bought it before it was taken out of the store
Forza Horizon 1 -I played on the emulator and I loved the music, the races, everything.
Forza Horizon 4 - I liked
Forza Horizon 2 - I played it on the emulator and I didn't like it very much. I didn't like the tracks and the music, it seems to be an expansion of the first one with less stuff.
I haven't played 5 and I want to buy it.
how is the rat man going to beat the piracy claims 😭
he'll ignore them until them go away
Damm We got redtag before gta 6
can we get greentag before GTA 7??
racing games need to stop making us "superstars" i'm tired of being liked by every single character and being the big deal hotshot, i want to be an underdog that everyone either dislikes or underestimates
perfectly said
100% the GOAT, never gonna be the same
rest in pepperoni
you are awesome I really do love watching every single videos
I'm really glad! Thank you for watching!
