Decided to listen to Rude Buster and I thought to myself "Wow this sounds so much like a PvZ song, it would go so well with it." Lo and behold, this fantastic remix, excellent work!
Some bullet pattern ideas I came up with for some reason: peashooters shooting left to right of course, but alternating in a unpredictable way that you can still dodge. Wall-nut bowling. So they come from the left and can turn diagonal at some points (maybe bring in the yellow soul and they go diagonal when shot?) Cattails. Unsure if I want something leaning more towards that jevil attack where the box is surrounded in a circle of spades or if I want something mad dummy homing rocket-esque. Peashooters that shoot less, but you get affected by a hypno-shroom and move in inverted directions. Cob cannons shooting at marked locations in a large box, but the corn explodes into popcorn shrapnel that moves in alternating + and × directions. Cacti shooting at different elevations while sunflowers at the borders of the box spawn damaging "sun" that disappears over time. Very small chance for a sunflower to do the maniacal cackling flowey face. Your SOUL turns into a SOIL. It scatters on the bottom of the (large) box like dirt, and you need to manage like 5 souls dodging cob cannon corn missiles from above. These are slow and just move from top to bottom. Planterns move horizontally through the box, and they have circles of damaging light with holes in the circle that you go into to not be hit. The plantern inside the light can be consumed for +10 health or so. Surprise! A zombiquarium attack! You need to avoid the zombies scrambling for food, which appears at random spots. These can die at random of they haven't gotten enough food. If one dies, it explodes like a less powerful pipis You shoot like 3 left-facing zombonis further away from the box while they shoot at you (they aim at you instead of forward) with zombotany peashooter heads. They leave ice trails, so don't let them get too far. A magnet shroom pulls you to the middle of a box while starfruits surrounding the box shoot. You're not just pulled; you can only move in the perimeter of a circle! Left moves counter-clockwise, right moves clockwise. The specific way I'm imagining this is like the anti-gravity hook from terraria.
New "Heart-Charge" Plants - special gages fill up when zombies are hurt by their attacks or walk in their 3x3 vicinity. Krisvine - fires leaves with Peashooter damage and range. When gage fills, holds up to three zombies in its vicinity with vines, stopping them for a few seconds or sparing them (making them disappear) if their health is low enough. Rhubuster - tosses axe-like rhubarb stalks with Cabbage-pult damage and range. When gage fills, tosses a larger axe at the highest-health zombie on the field for massive damage. Raloesei - whips scarf-like leaf for Fume-Shroom damage and range. When gage fills, fully heals itself and all plants in 3x3 range. Noelledrop - flicks cold drips of water like Kernel-pult that have Snow Pea damage and effect. When gage fills, lets out chilling wind that damages and freezes 3x3 range of zombies in front of it.
