Mature in ao3 is nothing really that suggestive. Yes there are some but the Mature tag is just another way of saying the story has a serious topic or something. Explicit is a lot more scary though...

The funniest part is that if you spend enough time on ao3 you begin to realize that so many people make their fic and chapter titles song lyrics that not only is this legit possible for so many songs but most of the fics in each song compilation actually took their ideas from the original song anyways

@@elstagersaurus There actually is quite a lot, but you just have to get into the lesbian/mixed fandoms. Examples are Supergirl (big one), Legends of Tomorrow, Wynonna Earp, the 100 (also big one), even Harry Potter has a plethora of f/f fanfics. Best thing about these is that they're mainly written by female writers as well, and they aren't a fetishisation of f/f relationships.

It’s slightly funny to me how people are surprised by the number of RPF there is on AO3; I have to filter out so much when I’m browsing through tags on there.
My search filters on mobile constantly have so many “exclude these” filters. Namely explicit and various incest tags because ew. Though I do remember seeing a few RPF-based Supergirl CW show fics poking fun at the RPF stuff.

@@elstagersaurus There actually is quite a lot, but you just have to get into the lesbian/mixed fandoms. Examples are Supergirl (big one), Legends of Tomorrow, Wynonna Earp, the 100 (also big one), even Harry Potter has a plethora of f/f fanfics. Best thing about these is that they're mainly written by female writers as well, and they aren't a fetishisation of f/f relationships.
