Yes sir, this is the best deal for a future owner who wants to restore or hot rod or modify (take your pick) a vehicle but does not have the facilities to do so. A lot of people get into this stuff and little do they realize that it can be an enormous undertaking not only with the vehicle itself but all of the support equipment that comes into play when doing this stuff. I see this in other You Tube videos where outfits get these vehicles in various stages and the vehicles are brought up to a condition where the vehicle can be passed on to a new home. Also, we the viewers get to see the progress made and the steps taken to bring a vehicle to a certain point. We also get to see the investment these outfits such as yours make in equipment, and time regarding this restoration, hobby, business, or whatever one wants to call it. Enjoy watching your videos, learn something new every time.
Great look, moreso when the front gets lowered. Enjoyed the music variety. Every once in awhile things go in easily. Neat opening scene with Steve painting. This build is coming together nicely.
You have some very talented mechanics on your team and they work well together. Over the years a progression in sophistication is observable. There is a method to your madness 😊
Your vids are so satisfying. The project is moving along nicely. I must admit I've never been much of a Ford guy. You're getting me there. Happy New Year!
I got my X-Mas present this year from you guys. "Hot Rod Music 1961-1965". Thanks for helping my wife pick it out. Always the best from the Iron Trap crew.
The 38 drop-top is starting to look great! I also like the surf beat background music. It just seems that the beat really fits in with hot-rodding. I can close my eyes and hear the rumble of my hemi powered 32 lowboy as I cruise down the PCH to Malibu with the Beach Boys or Dick Dale on the radio. Ah those were the days. 😎🏁
Love the title of this video. My daily driver is a 2021 Gladiator overland rig called Tail Dragger. Keep up the great work uncovering hidden treasures! Love it.
Pretty cool, it's going to sit nice when the front end comes down to match the rear. I really enjoy these videos, feel like I've learned a lot by watching. Happy New Year to you and the crew.
Nice to see the "sketchy" being removed , & replaced with tried & true hardware . The parts match up , & the repairs are flowing with the return to sanity on this build . Dropping the front to match the back is going to be a nice low setup , that should improve handling in turns . You guys are moving well on this project . I can't wait until you fire up that engine , & take it for it's first drive as a restored hot rod . Nice ! Have a happy & prosperous New Year , Iron Trap Garage , & All !
Nicey nice! Loving this build (like all the others!). Go Matt, Mike and Steve and Moon, Iron Trap! Keep moving forward and can't wait to see where you are going next in the new year!
Wow , that '38 is coming along very sweetly ! I'm not much of a tail dragger type but this one looks awesome ! I can hardly wait to see it turns out ! Thank you Matt and Steve for the update on the '38 ! Wishing everybody there a awesome new year !
As and old timer, pushing 80, I must add that most the rods of the early to mid 50's did have that tail dragger look but the to be authentic when you lower the front make it just a bit higher then the rear then you will be spot on.
Looks great, Matt. I'm generally not a fan of whitewalls, but a fresh set like the ones you have on it right now would really fit the character of this car and a set of '57 Caddie caps or Sombreros would be cool to match the engine. Gonna go for fender skirts, too? Happy New Year!
Whoever hacked this poor car up to begin with should have been ashamed of themselves! Glad to see you putting it back together as it should have been! Yeah, I know, hot rodder's just being hot rodders 'but, OMG, it didn't look like it was a very safe conversion to begin with IMHO anyway!
Happy New Year Iron Trap. Gotta say that ol' girl sure has a sweet lookin' rear end... I am especially looking forward to that V12 Lincoln that is an incredible find, here's hoping it fires up win minimum hassle.
Looking at it now I thought maybe incorporate some old school flames on the front. Kinda looks like it already does. Love these fat fender projects. Happy new year to the whole crew.
I really like the progress you're making. It's cool that you're putting a genuine banjo rear end back in this car. Makes it more authentic to what this 38 was originally. I guess I missed the part where you adapted the 39 transmission to the Cad engine, and what kind of adapter and work was needed. I suppose I'm in the minority, but I wouldn't have lowered the rear. I would stick to a level ride height. Still, you're doing a great job returning this car to the road for alot of fun.
Another pile of junk back on the road! The more I smee this '38, them better I like the design! Best of the New Year to the Iron Trap guys, gals and Moon! Best to all the ITG community, too!
That old, roughly welded rear was so sketchy, so this new rear is great to see being fabricated. Looking forward to that first drive up the road. Also, I'm hoping we get an update on the straight-six race car soon.
Eyy I’ve been really into tail draggers and now this comes out! You are making me want to do this with my 39 Deluxe but it’s a fordor, Ive seen low rider 4dr Chevy Fleetmasters. But can a fordor still come out with the dragger look? Might look like a bomber homie
you dont polish the sliding surface of the springs' leaves? A quick run over with a 120 flap disc cleans them up and ensures that the spring actually works as it should.
For as often as you use Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator, what's the difference between it and POR-15? Please consider putting a quick coat of blue on it again.

Yeah , a lot of people get in over their head on a project…..that’s when they bring it to me and pay me
I know you love your small victories, this was a HUGE victory! It all lined up and bolted in on both ends. It’s gonna have a fantastic.
Great look, moreso when the front gets lowered. Enjoyed the music variety. Every once in awhile things go in easily. Neat opening scene with Steve painting. This build is coming together nicely.
I love the tail dragger stance. Such a classy car. Happy New Year to everyone at ITG.
That Steve is a real paint slinger 😂😂
Looks awesome Matt! Can’t wait to see it driving. Oh, and Happy New Year to the ITG crew and family.
You have some very talented mechanics on your team and they work well together. Over the years a progression in sophistication is observable. There is a method to your madness 😊
Happy New Year to the Irontrap crew. I would consider that a large victory. Looks great.😊
That car makes me appreciate the 38 Ford much more than I ever did before!
Your vids are so satisfying. The project is moving along nicely. I must admit I've never been much of a Ford guy. You're getting me there. Happy New Year!
That Steve is awsome!

I have been falling along, really enjoying watching the progress.

You guys are awesome… “Nice Job"

Looks great. I realize you can’t keep them all, but I hope this one will be a keeper.
Great progress on a very cool car. Are you tempted to take the body off the frame to clean things up?
Maybe in the future but for now we’re just doing a “rolling resto” so to speak.
Great start looks great!
Love the squat..nice stance
Happy New Year Iron Trap. Gotta say that ol' girl sure has a sweet lookin' rear end...
I am especially looking forward to that V12 Lincoln that is an incredible find, here's hoping it fires up win minimum hassle.
So much work done well in just 21 minutes - youse guys is jeanusis, rilly....
Matt you need a good creeper!!!!
great work Matt and Steve Have a happy new year!
Looking better every time.
Looking good !!
Hey Matt, how about some old chrome lake pipes!
Looking at it now I thought maybe incorporate some old school flames on the front. Kinda looks like it already does. Love these fat fender projects. Happy new year to the whole crew.
Looks a lot better..looking forward a driver
That is kick ass 😊
Looking good
So fun!
Looks great. Happy new year to you guys.

Looks great Happy new year Guys
Looks great! The only thing I would do is put the cool looking stock headlights in, you guys probably have those in stock.
It’s on the to do list.
good job
Loving this ride, that should be a keeper.
That old, roughly welded rear was so sketchy, so this new rear is great to see being fabricated. Looking forward to that first drive up the road. Also, I'm hoping we get an update on the straight-six race car soon.
at 10:00 a-strumma a-strummma a-strumma a-strumma!
Matt, thanks for the video Have a Happy New Year and stay safe.
Mighty Fine, Mighty Fine!!
Happy New Year!!
Dude!!! Great video!!! Happy New year!!!✌️
Not sure that I’d be dropping the front end much more it’s already got a great look!
Yes it looks fenamal great revival ❤
Loving it, It would be cool if you can get the top to work also. I love working on this kind of junk. I just hate paying for it. Ron
Looking good - keep up the good work.
Nice rear stance

Sipping coffee, I did a spit-take watching that rear axle drop. 😳 I'm awake now! Loving this build tho.
Looks great.Did you put the u bolts around the spring cross member?😊😊
Yep had to modify the saddles for the shorter spring pack
Great job
Cool looking car. Happy New Year.
you dont polish the sliding surface of the springs' leaves? A quick run over with a 120 flap disc cleans them up and ensures that the spring actually works as it should.
We grease them.
Looks loke an old set of Traction Masters on there.
It needs fender skirts and leave it nose up.... Proper tail dragger..!! Mike bellow makes awesome skirts..!!
It’ll get a set of skirts eventually. I’ll either dig an original set up or make a set myself. Bellos does nice work for sure!
When you lower the ride height, does that compromise the suspension or driveability of the car in any way?
Great job, great car
Great car! I wanna see you fix the interior and paint it!
The interior is perfect. Just needs more cleaning.
Happy New Year ITG!
Good looking car. IMO it deserves a 1950's enamel paint job like it would have had back then.
Earl Shieb blow and go $29.99
I hope that reat end will be able to handle a 5.9:1 hi-compression flat head motor! Should be fun.
Except it's not a flathead
He's using the Caddy motor in it as you see it, not a flathead.
For as often as you use Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator, what's the difference between it and POR-15? Please consider putting a quick coat of blue on it again.
No sense putting a “quick” coat of blue.. leave it alone and crappy or do it right.
What about the rust encapsulate?@@IronTrapGarage
SICK
love it!
Coming along really nice, while you've got the guts pulled out a new paint job in that blue and top would really do it justice.
Maybe someday. Just trying to get it on the road for now.
Oh yea!✊
A little POR under there would be good.
I like it.
You realy have to consider getting us closer in on the actual work being done. What that means more close up shots so we can see what is being done...
I agree on seeing some more close up working being done or that least explaining what they are doing !
Sorry we can’t afford a proper camera guy. Trying to work and put a tripod up while we work. We’ll try and get some more shots in the future.
I knew you could do it.
You guys always find the cool cars. This one should be a bitchin ride. Love the show. Happy New Year guys.
Nice Work.
Happy New Years 2024 🌏
