Drifter from the album Killers, it shows perfectly the vocal abilities of Paul Di'anno, the song also contains a fantastic guitar solo at the end of the song, the albums of Iron Maiden with Paul Di'anno are the true spirit and essence of Iron Maiden, Paul Di'anno was a great vocalist, a legendary one, thanks Paul Di'anno for all your great bands, albums, songs, sense of humor, Paul Di'anno-you were the best,R.I.P.!!!
Iron Maiden is my favorite Iron Maiden album. I gotta give that and Killers credit for bringing back metal to popularity again. Paul Di'Anno was at the right place at the right time. They needed that raw sound, with the prog, punk and metal sound that they did it perfectly. My favorite Di'Anno Maiden song is Phantom of the Opera. Di'Anno didn't get the credit that he so deserves unfortunately during his lifetime, but now a majority of us are giving him the credit that he deserves. Rest easy Paul Di'Anno.
Totally agree with you on the debut. Paul was the right frontman at the right time for Maiden. Phantom of the Opera is such a great track! He definitely doesn't get the credit he deserves for his work with the band in their early years and his solo stuff.
Saw him last year at KKs Steel Mill, Wolverhampton, England. Support act for KKs Priest. Paul was fantastic, he was in tears thanking us for him being back and he was fighting to be outta the chair aiming to be standing performing. What a fkn shame, I’ve considered the first Iron Maiden album their best. R.I.P. Good tribute Johnny Z🍻
We were all rooting so hard for him to finally get out of that chair. Cool that you were able to see him live… he didn’t come to America for years prior to his death. The first album is a classic no doubt!
I'm a big Iron Maiden fan so it was very sad to hear about this tragic news i loved the Paul Di'anno era of the band Iron Maiden and Killers some great albums and my favourite song from Paul Di'anno era of Iron Maiden is Phantom Of The Opera great song and i think i would say my favourite vocal performances from him were on Remember Tomorrow, (Great Underrated Song) and title track killers so i definitely will listen to these two albums again over the next day or two to pay tribute to him Rest In Peace Paul you were one of the metal greats to ever live and thank you for all the great music you done in iron maiden
Phantom, Remember Tomorrow and Killers are some of my favorites too. KIllers is the quintessential Paul Di'Anno song IMO Performances of Phantom Of The Opera and Remember Tomorrow live at the Rainbow are iconic!
An all time great Maiden song for sure. Killers is a song I always thought fit Di'Anno's vibe better than Bruce's. I'd love to see them do it live on the Run For Your Lives tour as a tribute.
Had this feeling after watching the hall of shame video that we are reaching an end of classic Metal bands but still rest in peace Paul Di'Anno even though I've never been big into Iron Maiden.
These classic bands won't be touring in less than ten years from now, so enjoy them while they're still playing. Ozzy was being rolled around the Hall of Fame ceremony in a wheelchair from the pictures I saw... I'm just glad I was able to catch these bands at all given their age compared to mine.
66 is way too young for sure. Paul seemed to live a hard life. Killers is an amazing album... I think Paul had made huge strides as a vocalist and frontman from the debut to Killers.
I love the first 2 albums! It was a terrible loss. I got to see him once in NYC at a small venue and that was cool. For awhile it seemed like he was trying different things to see what would stick. Like at first playing more towards the commercial stuff and then getting heavier at various points. I have the battle zone albums and also the Killers albums as well as his other solo stuff. I really like the murder one album from killers. Menace to society was like a pantera album but I enjoyed it. Also I think the Nomad album is super underrated. Not a killers album but his solo band
Super cool that you got to see him live… I never got the chance because I’m pretty sure he was banned from entering the US lol His solo stuff is definitely pretty diverse. I like the variety. He made some really heavy records in the 90s on a bunch of different projects. The guy always stayed busy making music to the very end.
Really cool that you were able to see him live with Maiden back in their "Jurassic period" (as Bruce likes to call it). Must've been an awesome show! The new Warhorse album is really good... I had no idea that would be his final studio album when it came out.
First, we lost Jack Russell, Jake E. Lee gets shot (and lives), and now we lost Paul Di'Anno. Love the Di'Anno era. Killers has always been my favorite Maiden album
Favourite Maiden songs with Di'anno on vocals (and favourite performances by him): Prowler, Sanctuary, Remember Tomorrow, Running Free, Wrathchild, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Another Life, Innocent Exile, Killers, Drifter. A lot of songs, big chunks of the first two albums, but those are all great. Phantom of the Opera is a great song but I do prefer how Bruce sings it (on the double Live after Death) - however its the only song from the pre-Bruce era I would say that about.
@@TheCDGuyJZ i never got to see them their last time they came near me was in 1999 just a couple years before i was born so i hope to see Mercyful Fate next year
RIP Paul Di'Anno

Can't pick one. Remember Tomorrow, Strange World, Phantom of the Opera, Iron Maiden, Killers, Prodigal Son, and Murders in the Rue Morgue.
All great songs!
Great choice… Drifter is one of his all time best vocal performances for sure.
I'd have to go with Remember Tomorrow.

For sure. RIP Paul
My absolute favourite Iron Maiden song is Strange world, has been for years.
Great pick!
First song, first album, been a fan since 79, RIP paul, may you rest in peace
So sad. Maiden is a top five band for me and the first two albums are my favorite. Ill definitely be celebrating Paul.
The first two are great and really stand out amongst the catalog. I'm spinning them both tonight too.
Bruce had the range. Paul had the balls.

RIP Paul. Those albums are classics for sure!
I had the vinyl records too! Sold my entire record collection about 18 years ago.....
@@CarlettoPuglia I sold them a long time ago but now i by them back on CD
Seeing him and the band in 81 in Antwerp on the killers tour is one of the highlights of my metal head youth years. RIP Paul
Sounds like an amazing show!
My favorite song is killers i love that song and the album he was an amazing singer RIP Paul the best singer ever nice video my friend take care

@@TheCDGuyJZ that woud be amazing i woud love to see them do that song on this tour as a tribute to Paul.
I'm seeing Maiden in Baltimore for the 1st time ever. The entire Killers album is Killer!!!
RIP Paul
Have a great time… report back! 🤘

You know what to do, play Killers at max volume until the fuckin roof rattles!

Paul was my introduction to maiden

It's been a rough year for losses in the music industry. I'm so glad Jake E Lee pulled through.

Great choices! So many early classics to choose from on the first two albums. Bruce does do an amazing version of Phantom.
i think King Diamond will do a North American tour next year with Mercyful Fate for the new album what do you think
I hope Mercyful keep touring. I'd love a chance to see them.

Well Said, nice tribute. I like Killers better than Number of The Beast. Just my personal opinion.....
Maiden had a legendary run from their debut through Seventh Son… all of those albums are top shelf material. Killers is a great one!
Shame about the passing.
DID YOU BUY YOUR SIGNED COPY OFF EBAY?
A family member acquired it from a book dealer a many years ago. It was passed down to me.
