- This short video was created to demonstrate out how to make a nut and bolt for 3d printing using Tinkercad. The nut and bolt were printed and presented at Oxford Hackspace's Designing for 3D Printing: Workshop #1.
The finished design of a 12mm nut and bolt has been shared to...

5:41 Don't do that 'by eye'. Use the align tool to centre two pieces.
There is a align tool?
Yes. To the right of Group and Ungroup.

I think you gave it a good try. This actually did give me a general idea so thank you for the help, but I think you know by now you missed a few steps with this but thank you for this.
will printing the same dimension threads as a nut and bolt make fitting parts? doesn't the bolt have to be slightly smaller in diameter?
"ISO" doesn't mean "isometric". It means "International Standards Organization", responsible for setting... well... international standards for things like... well... screw/nut sizes and pitches.
You're right, but he's actually saying the name of the object, which is "ISO metric thread" :)
So would it have been easier to just make the bolt first, then duplicated it, and made the screw part a hole, and viola, you have a perfect working nut and bolt?
You forgot to resize the thread radius of the nut to be a little bigger, if you print it like that it won't fit.
He mentions this at the very end of the video.
Is it possible to make lengths of threaded bar more then 20 Rotation ?
Cheers great Video..
I have a crazy question
Can I take a pic of a shape and move it over to this program and then adjust it?
Like a hook or a coat hanger?
Great video thanks for sharing this helps a lot!
With a little big of creativity i'm almost certain you could use this guide here to do what you were thinking.

Alex Layton thank you for your time and input
hello and good you did a great tutorial, could you tell me the exact measures on the side of a dice? because when I go to draw a die, I always get a little longer on one side.
Rotate on the xy plane until both equal then change the measurements of x and y
thank you very much you helped me to think good
Why didn't you show a final printed product?
You had a bit of terminology wrong but you still got the point across to a point. You didn't show how to save your images while working on it if the power fails!
这个有离线版吗?
sir can me ask??? is MM or CM??
Mm
In fusion 360 creating a thread takes one click :P
same with tinkercad. just findit and drag it. the rest of the video was just messing around with settings and explaining what they do
You’re not showing the simple centering tool also, you’re not showing the grouping to make the holes
3:30 are you teaching children?
Try to make an apple
Such a poor explanation, you should remove the video and upload a normal on
Maybe you should do a practice run on presentation first before you stumble on what you are doing.
You didn't say anything usefull!!! Come on!!!!!!!!!
This guy only has very minimal knowledge of tinkercad. He doesnt' realize there;s an align tool. he's eyeballing it.
